I have a KDL-46VL150 - the symptoms are after extended use the tv shuts off and has a blinking light on the bottom right near the power button. the HDMI are non-functional. the RCA inputs are still good, but yet again after extended use it seems like the tv heats up and stops working. Any recommendations ?? Thx

i will look for the IC replacement online to produce a tcon board advance repair later on *NOTE replacing the tcon IC is common fix but does not come with a warranty and NOT a guaranteed to fix your TV, replacing the tcon board which also comes with a warranty has higher success rate but cost about $30 more than the IC.

I think im gonna share this story because its somewhat positive.
I come from a bad neighborhood so, naturally, most of my oldest friends did too. My best friend still lives there and was talking to me about moving to where i live.
Friend: i guess ill just run this [unnamed hustle] while im trying to find work.

Idea!* "you could take my truck through the wealthy neighborhoods early morning weekdays and pick up the gadgets, gizmos, and appliances that you find, ill teach you how to fix what i know and TH-cam University has enough to help us piece together the rest. Then we sell the stuff."
I made the idea up on the spot and began doing it afterwards. If i swap any more TVs around to introduce another, wife's gonna disembowel me. So here's the idea for anyone who wants it.
To wrap up my essay, I wanna say thanks to the author who really taught me how tvs work through his explanations and repairs. Knowing what part does what and why is the key to an accurate diagnosis.

Hey there! I have a Sony Bravia model# kdl-46bx450 and when I turn it on, the Sony Logo shows, then it’s a black screen. I click the volume & channel buttons and the light indicates it’s working, but no video. Was going to throw it away...unfortunately...but do you or anyone have any ideas?? Thanks a ton!

You saved me man! I actually didn’t need to get a new part I just took out and cleaned the white straps and put them back in and adjusted them a little bit. TVs working fine
So you clean and reseated Tcon connections and fixed the TV?
Dear @TampaTec as a fellow resident of Tampa your excellent videos caught my attention. Can you please help me? I have a Sony KDL-46S5100 that still has a beautiful picture when streaming through the HDMI ports. However when trying to receive over the air broadcast TV signals, the picture is totally garbled and unwatchable, I suppose I need a new tuner card? If that sounds reasonable to replace and solve the problem I will go ahead. Your tips on going by the number on the card and not the model on the TV is brilliant! I will go by that number if I can figure out which card to replace. Thanks a million!
You need to troubleshoot by process of elimination. Check TV connections, use another cable if needed. Check antenna 📡 📶 position and signal strength. Scan digital channels not cable / analog channels. Reset TV by unplugging TV power cord for 1 minute. Check tuner rf solder connections if needed solder bad solder joints. Can be bad tv tuner or main board. Get TV boards at shopjimmy.com or electropartsonline.com
I'm really liking what you're doing, man. I've replaced capacitors on an Element, bringing it back to life twice over a decade. I picked up a couple of Bravias at the dump thinking I could fiddle with them, have a little fun. One has a HUGE orange tint. You think replacing the same board you did in this video would do the trick?
I have a 60 inch sony bravia 3d LCD TV and I can faintly see a screen with picture but the picture is so faint. I put my firestick in and you can see the apps and all but it's really dark, you have to be up on the TV to see it. I sent it for repair and they told me it was my control panel and then said we changed that but now its your back light and it cost to much to repair and they had me come pick it up. Is it even worth trying to fix ? On here most show it is the back lighting that is my problem, is this something I would be able to do since the only TV repair place near me couldn't fix it. Thank you
Sounds like bad backlight led strips most likely. Get led strips at shopjimmy.com cost about $100 to 140 but if you are nervous Then find another tech savvy person to help you. If you follow the tutorial you should be good.
I have the 52" Sony Bravia model similar to the 46" in this video. I bought it in 2008. The picture went out on it the other day after more than 10 years of use. Because of this video I was able to diagnose the issue and repair it. It was a bad Tcon board. Bought a replacement from electropartsonline and now it's working again. I hope to get many more years out of this TV. Thanks!

very good follow thru video. i have a sony xbr65hx950, i changed the t-con board but same symptoms. tv powers up normal, after 1 minute picture fades to black- still has backlight, still has sound. any pointers on this? thank you mike
Can be defective LCD panel but can be under a recall warranty which they did years ago. Contact Sony.

I have similar Sony, it works but sometimes screen goes off by itself and no sound and then it goes back on by itself. Do you think I need to change the same board?
Hello,I have a Sony KDL-46HX729. I get 5 flashing lights. I tried unplugging the TV then plug directly to wall outlet--no luck. I tried to do a factory reset (up arrow from TV remote and then press power button on TV) no luck. can you recommend any other steps I should take...or do i need a new TV? 4:04 I didn't put the tape back on mine should I be worried? I have a KDL-40VE5 with a nice blue line on the screen now. Unplugging the tcon board didn't fix anything
Could anyone help me. I have a Sony 65” Bravia. If you change the t con board does it need resetting or will be all good to go?
Just swap tcon board and u should get an image but if u don't then check connections and backlight.
so the television won’t need resetting when I fit the new t con board??
Thanks for the great video. I have a Sony bravia xbr, ten years old, that is not working. If I unplug and then plug back again, tv comes on with standby light and backlight, but after 3-4 seconds goes completely off, no backlight, no standby, nothing. Would you know what could be wrong?
Thank you for your video. It's very helpful to me. My Sony TV has a different KDL model #. Its T-Con has 46NU-MB4C6LVO.7 only one letter different from the one shown in the video. The link you provided for electro parts no longer works. Sear by board # on eBay and Amazon did not find any source. I would like to verify by testing perhaps that my T-Con Board is indeed bad and need to be replaced. Can you help? Thanks in advance!

Awesome! Thanks for the straight-forward explanation. I have a similar SONY tv: KDL-46Z4100. Its screen error is a pile of horizontal and vertical red and green lines; pretty much a full cross-hatch (tight ‘plaid’ pattern if you will).
What do you think are the odds that I just need to order the equivalent LCD board (the upper one you worked on) for my TV? Thanks again!

In my case changing Power Board solved the problem. There was no voltage (26.5V) on VLED_VCC lines to LED Driver board.

Hi, my sony sony bravia kdl-40v5100 has the next issue, when I turn it on the Green LED indicator tuen on, but the TV gets no video, no backlight and no audio, also qhen i turn it on i hear a "click" coming form the power suply board, so i'm not sure what is the problem.

I have question about Sony TV SONY KDL-40S4100. Over the sadden it stopped turning on. Looks like it have all the voltages comes out of power supply board and 3.3 V standby voltage also present. I hear the click when I turn TV on and all voltages turns on. It is why I decided that this could be main board at fail but not a power supply. So i ordered board from Ebay and replaced it with exact the same result. Still no picture no sound. Any idea what problem could be? I believe that you are involved with electronics and it is why I asking you for any help.

I have KDL-46v2500 and every couple of days it gets a distorted image, then shuts down and red light flashes 3 times over and over until I unplug for 5 minutes and replug, then it’s fine again for a couple of days. What could be the problem?

I have a Bravia KDL-46XBR9 tv from 2009. Recently it started coming on, 15 seconds later it turned off and the red standby light flashed 10 times. After a pause it will do this again. After 4 times it shuts off and the standby light just blinks. I had a repair tech come and look at it and he did some minor testing on the power board (g7n) and said it needed to be replaced. He also said it would be more than the price of a new tv for him to fix the old one. However I am a musical instrument repair technician and I can change a board. My question is does this sound like a power board problem ? Was the techs advice to me to change the power board correct in your opinion ? Thank You-saxman

Thanks for the video. I replaced my 2007 Sony Bravia XBR-5 with a new T-Com board for $20. It was out of service for about a week. Remember to verify the part numbers on the old and new board. I was about to purchase the wrong board until I took my TV apart to verify the part number.

I have the Sony kdl48r510c . During power-on, the screen lights up with 4-6" wide vertical bars behind the Sony logo. The Sony logo, turns slowly from white to green and then slowly fades. At this point, I have a totally black screen except for the back-light. None of the on-tv buttons cause any display changes on the tv. Using the source button, I cycle through the inputs which has my computer plugged in. I feel like the main board may be damaged, since the computer doesn't sense that the tv is plugged in when it is on.
Is there any diagnostics available via the network connection? The link comes up when I plug it into my computer, but I don't detect any traffic coming from it...

Hello , i have a SONY KDL-32S2010 . When i hit the ON button the TV tries to start but there is no image and no sound . Every some seconds i hear a cluck sound from the POWER SUPPLY like the tv tries to start but immediately shuts down again . I have not tested till now the stand by 3.3v but i think the power supply is faulty. Is there something else i should take in mind ??????
KDL-60R520A Led has a darker right bottom corner it's like a quarter of a circle, radius of 6 inches horizontal and 6 vertical all on the right bottom corner. I can see image, but it is darker. Any idea what can cause this.? Thanks in advance

Hi, my sony bravia DKL-55W800B was working one day and the next nothing. No light on the screen, no light on the bottom of the tv. I checked the transformer with a voltmeter and that is fine. Next i changed the LED driver and that wasn't the issue. So I changed the Main Board and nothing. What do you think is the problem. Thank you
Hi there, my Sony KDL-48W600B screen goes black starting from the top right corner and slowly moves down to the bottom left corner. Sound remains perfect. If I turn off the set and switch it on after a few seconds, the picture comes back on and then slowly goes black again. Help!! Thanks...

Please can you advise, I have a Panasonic TX-48CX350B TV and I have no picture or sound although sometimes I can see the backlights showing behind. When I switch the mains on at the plug the front standby light flashes then goes off and the backlight is on. No display on the TV when I press the remote on/off button puts the tv in standby and if I press the remote once again and attempt to call up the menu screen no picture or sound. After a while the standby light comes on constant red light and the backlights are off. Your assistance is very much appreciated. Regards Brian

I've got a Sony KDL-46z4100 that won't show a red stand-by light at all. TV will power on with a green light, but only with vertical lines, no sound and no ability to change the input or channels. I've purchased a main board, t-con board and power supply board off Ebay with no luck getting it to power on and work again. In fact I've tried two different main boards and power supply boards, all with matching part numbers. Any suggestions to get this thing working again would be greatly appreciated.
I got a 09 kdl52z5100. Back in the day it was a little over 2k. The tv still works and looks good. But it's dimmer than it used to be. Are these TV's easy to work on? I'm thinking of getting a new lamp for it.

My KDL48R510C starts up with the Sony logo pure white, then slowly fades to green and goes away. Screen is black on all inputs after that. Back light is on and I can get more backlight if I cycle through the inputs with the remote. Can't get a menu on the screen or any other video after initial Sony logo...
I have a Sony KDL-32BX300 and it has no TCON board as far as i can see and based on my research. The problem I am having with this TV is that black/blank screens appear washed out/greyed out and I notice a very faint horizontal green streak across the screen when certain images are displayed. What could be causing this and what component(s) would need to be replaced in order to fix this problem? Keep in mind that I'm not a technician so I don't know how to test boards and whatnot.
I have the Sony KDL-46XBR4
. The picture was fine then few minutes later the Left side of the screen colors start dancing. Previous owner told me it the T-Con board. Took TV apart tonight, removed T-con board and cleaned all the connections. Put it all back together and now I have either no picture whatsoever or lines across the screen (Audio is fine). I checked and rechecked and everything is connected as before.
What do you think happen that made the picture disappear and would replacing the T-com fix the issue ? Thank you.

Great video & you seem to be just the guy who may have the answer to what is going on with my sony bravia kdl-52S5100. The brightness of the tv seems to be a dirty looking faded white color & the tint seems to favor more of a slightly red & green color despite making proper picture adjustments. When I'm playing blu ray movies the image seems to have a coaxial look to it as if it's not really a digital image & as of today both HDMI ports have mysteriously lost their signals. If it is a solution I'm all open ears & if not then I'll should make preparations to purchase a new TV, your help would be greatly appreciated thanks👍😎👌

just passed on a TV that was a dumpster dive today, ... old sony bravia with no stand ... I decided not to mess with that one but maybe i should have ... it was heavy (thinking maybe an early model LCD) for it's size ... maybe 50 inch or so ...40-ish anyway ... when plugged in I could here it come on and immediately go off ... didn't see any light (it wasn't on long enough) ... for it's weight and the connectors (tons of composite/rca, but only one hdmi ... though i could get around that easy) i am guessing it was an older model (maybe not even 1080p and figured it wasn't worth it/someone else could get more use/fun out of it
