I was blessed to have Patti and kollu patti till I was 15. So I always learnt from them. See definitely we are not going to eat raw Upma. We don’t cook to demonstrate and throw it off. We ate for 2 days. Arisi Upma’s taste is enhanced after a day. Nethu vecha arisi Upma…….my mom had eaten and digested without a whisper. To me it was perfectly cooked. Upma is described as uthir Uthira…..Pidicha pidi padanum, uthirtha uthiranum. Upma is overcooked or contains excess water if they are lumpy. If you call that cooked?🙏🙏

What a hypocrisy, that you can eat broken rice but not the whole rice. The shastrasay , on ekadashi day one should fast even from water or at least from grains ,pulses and leafy vegetables. If you eat its brahmahathy, you will accumulate sin. Please consult with your acharya ..

She insists that fenugreek is one of the essential ingredients. When we use in other recipes it is not bitter. Why will it be bitter in this recipe? When used in proper proportions it enhances the aroma and is a contra ingredient for Black pepper and red pepper which generate heat in the body. Fenugreek is the cooling Ingredient along with cumin seed🙏🙏. Please try my recipe and come back to me. I’ll be happy.

Staying close to oven need not necessarily mean carelessness. On the contrary it means more careful cooking. One has to be absolutely careful and alert while cooking. I have customised my kitchen table to 40” or 1 metre from the floor. Add the stove height. It’s necessary for me because I’m a disc prolapse person and half bent position will tell upon my spinal column. The only difference between others and me is, my face is near the oven and other’s midriff will be near the stove. They will be bending over while cooking. I don’t have an option so I am double careful. I request to to kindly note that when I’m showing consistency in the camera, both the burners were switched off. My speed is curtailed but no compromise in safety. I appreciate your concern. By God’s grace I haven’t had any accident while cooking in my so many years. So take it easy and enjoy my dishes by making them and please come back to me🙏🙏
