My 501 LE has a weak closing, a less-than-symmetrical grind for the lock cutout, and it looked like it had been a little oversharpened. Over the years, though, I've learned to accept such a condition from Buck. Having said that, I'm glad you were able to get yours replaced! It's good to hear that Buck handled that.
Glad Buck made the special collectable knife right....I have had to return a recent purchase to a different maker and hope they respond as well as Buck did....thanks for the vid....Jim
So glad to hear that Buck took care of you, and that you’re pleased with it. I’ve only had a problem one time with one of their knives, and their customer service dept fixed me up right away. I ordered this 501 Larrin, too, and was initially excited to be getting the Magnacut. Mine arrived just fine, but I must admit I was disappointed with it. I had never owned a 501 before, and I guess I was expecting something bigger. With Buck now offering Magnacut on several of their knives, for the price of this Larrin 501 I could have ordered a 110 with a MagnaCut blade….

There have been a lot of issues with American Cutlery manufacturing as of late. Either, overpriced or poor quality control. That's not a good thing... I am glad they made it right... but the amount of money wasted and frustration when they allow things like this to occur it's not good
