Thanks! You definitely want to take out as much as you can to make painting easier/cleaner. Also, expect needing 4 coats to build up enough paint to be silky smooth.
I just did mine 2 wks ago. I did not take them off. I taped behind the calipers and no problems. There is no need to paint the inside of the caliper unless you have big open spaces on wheels. The Kit: lousy brushes that left hairs in the paint that had to pluck out - very annoying, even though I did pluck the loose ones out before I started as the kit suggests. Plenty of brake cleaner included. I bought a small artists oil paint brush from the paint store and that worked way better. The hardner and paint has about a 4 hour paint life, so there is no painting tomorrow. Did one side, then the other, then wait 20 mins, then repeat 3 times. Result: Actually pretty good. I was skeptical as its a brushon, but when the third coat dried, they looked clean and shiny, no brush strokes. Not show car level, but still looks good.
Waiting on delivery today of a G2 paint kit. Good thing my brakes are brand new with bare metal. I was wondering why no one clear coats after using this paint, and putting stickers on?
There are really mixed experiences with the clearcoat bonding with the G2 paint well. For sure you’d need to let the paint cure for 3-5 days with exposure to heat, then scuff the paint, put stickers, then clearcoat with a really high quality 2k clear. IMO, if you use good-heat resistant vinyl stickers, just replace them when they go bad in 5-6yrs
Put a different brand sticker on each brake, to keep people guessing. 🤣 They look good.
Aweee man, when these stickers fade its getting brembo/wilwood/baer/Rotora!
Looks killer! good tip to take the brake pads out. looks a ton better when you do it right. Ill be doing the same this summer!

Thank you for sharing! What is the life expectancy of a paint job like this?
Probably longer than an oem coating.
@@MurphysLawGarage thank you!
No problem
How many kits did you use, just the one? Was it enough?
I used two kits, these brakes are huge.
Saludos, no usas una capa de clear para proteger el sticker?
No, I wanted to be able to change the stickers or touch up the paint in the future without sanding back.
whats the coolest brand sticker anyone has seen? Imma about to do mine
Well, these are actual Brembos, but you could do something more custom - like this car came oem with “mustang” on the caliper.
I was just thinking about this. only cars guys look at brake brands so I thought it would be funny to say some funny bogus crap.

Wait time between coats?
This will vary based on temp/humidity, but I found 20 minutes between resulted in the best coverage.
@@MurphysLawGarage thank you for your reply. Looks great 👍
No problem, thanks.
