Would offer 5 videos atleast? - surely. I would also like to see more in the shields, resistance comparisons etc? even side by side QT drives
I haven't tried the Santokyai repeaters yet, but the Singe tachyon cannons on the Banu Defender are really good right now. They basically turned them into mini railguns that you have to charge to fire similar to the Ion's size 7. They fire super fast projectiles with a very high alpha damage but a low fire rate thus low DPS like a laser version of the Sledge 3. They definitely hit hard and kill quickly but take a bit of practice to use.
Personally on a ship like the Corsair I enjoy a full Gatling ballistics loadout as I hit hard and fast and don't linger for too long. My friend flies an inferno and he is usually my support ship and that size 7 Gatling is no joke either

Great video. Would be good if you could put up a video of some build suggestions for popular ships based on these new stats. Maybe getting a balance of ballistics and energy to get the most value.
Very informative and straight to the point. Amazing video. Was shocked to see it's your first one too! Hope to see more vids like this, keep up the awesome work!
I came to relies that dps on full ballistic with my harbinger definatly dropped on this update which lead my to remember shields were suppose to nerf damage a lil before but now ballistics doesnt reduce shields, so im now doing on any ship i play on doing a hybrid laser/ballistics build to reduce shields and then full dps the hull. Feels like damage went up from before when i did this.

Thanks for mentioning tachyons. They looked brilliant on paper, but didn't know if they were viable. Think I'll carry a tractor beam next time I'm MRT'ing and hot swap some tachyons on the F7A and give it a try.
@@zDemoGODz True, if you can sit at the 2-400m mark the scatterguns rock and seem to take out components really fast. A lot of weapon systems are viable this patch, but some things got nerfed, like laser repeaters are basically useless. I had an F8 get behind my Hammerhead with 3 turret gunners and he sat there and ate repeater shots as he shot out my rear shields, it was embarrassing.
in what little testing we did with a friend, a Scorpius with x4 Size 3 Quarreler / Omnisky Laser cannons & a Turret equipped with x4 Singe-3 Cannons was DEADLY. If your gunner is half decent and knows how to aim, we were consistently taking out targets bigger than us, maneuvering around them easily and taking out other fighters, mediums & more quite easily. Even in PvP we did great, having consistent damage being applied to the enemy is key and we did it - it was a blast to fly that thing. I also find myself using recently a Corsair with x4 AD5Bs and x2 Size 4 OmniSky cannons and for turrets im trying out the NBD Repeaters and swapping between them or Omnisky cannons - both seem to work, depending on what you want. Less more powerful shots or More shots to pepper the enemy, damage is similar and ammo speed is the same. I only wish the Turrets on the Corsair could take Singe 3s so we can test it out. Next thing we will be testing is possibly a Hammer Head with Only Singes, see how it stacks up LoL
I like the sound of this! Testing your way through things is the only way to see how it really holds up. I'm glad to hear about the Scorpius especially, last I heard the turret on that was locked forward.
I am so glad the Singe is a good weapon now, my favorite ship is the baby defender and I noticed it one-shotting NPC Vanguards and I was like “Wot?” So I guess it’s good to know how they function
Great video So all in all: Laser weapons do more damage per shot but theyr power is divided by all laser weapons on the ship (ammo capacity) and ballistics do almost half the damage to shields(or hull) but the dmg through the shield stays So the overall performance would be a mix of ballistics and laser weapons on a ship I guess. Given the fact that you can’t just fly away anymore without risking heavy damage to your ship I guess ballistics are better against light/medium and lasers@/balistic mix vs everything else. Since I own an inferno and where farming ert bountys with the s7 monster I quite grew on ballistics.
Great video, good summary of the information without being mired in excessive detail - concise and well presented with the visuals too! Thank you - sub'd!

Glad to hear it was helpful! Feel free to join our discord, our training program is almost refactored for 3.23 and we're happy to help answer your questions and get you started on the right path!
Great video! I dunno why CIG has kept the 50% ballistic protection flat across the board still when they could just lower ballistic damage by that ammo. Something I think is worth noting is the better energy efficiency means you don't necessarily need to commit full power to weapons as often, and with the change of shields getting resistance when they are given power. Erkul just says "X capacitor resistance multiplier" which I don't really know what that means, to be fair.
Great video! And for a first wow that is really good. I've been trying to figure out what weapons to put onto my ships, may end up going mixed ballistic and laser eventually but I'm hesitant on ballistic since once you're out of ammo, you're out of ammo. Laser weapons at least won't ever run out. It will be interesting to see where the weapon meta leads, and maybe we'll get a shield meta when they differentiate shields since right now they all are exactly the same.
I've always liked using laser cannons. I just find it easier to hit single shots rather than continuos spray. I'm of course a PvE player so the targets aren't that hard to hit to begin with. I did use AD5Bs a lot before 3.23 as they could kill anything very fast. Now in 3.23 it is hard to kill as many ships with ballistics before running out of ammo.
Good video Just some very small gripes, all my opinion, disregard if you wish: 1) Music just barely too loud. It is a little distracting. 2) Spend a little more time proofreading your slides especially with the maths/values, was some errors (not updating the alpha dmg/regen cost of the Omnisky-9s, made it confusing) 3) I would describe the efficiency of damage per regen the opposite, as in exactly as it sounds, damage divided by regen cost. This says the Omnisky-9 is 33% more efficient than the Attritions, or M5As are 100% or twice as efficient. Thanks for introducing me to spviewer!
You also forgot to mention that Auto gimbal functions that were removed for normal gimbals were NOT removed for turrets. So all turrets still have the auto gimbal option making using Singe weapons that much more viable and almost necessary for any multi crew ship. Also, the Banu before 3.23 had S2 Singe where the new Banu has S3 Singe and you cannot get the S2 Singe anymore unless you saved a bunch of them before 3.23 went live. Well, I did save a bunch of them and if anyone wants any S2 Singe cannons, hit me up in game. My game name is Pipedream.
Yeah, I didn't want to get too much into the mechanics, but that would have been something good to bring up since it was a pretty major change going into this version. Thanks!
Amazing video! Only suggestion is to turn down the music volume after the opening scene. At about 3:30min it was becoming a distraction. But otherwise great video!
Great video. Only suggestion would be to tone down the background music a touch. ION is still a dumb weapon. Only gets 6000 alpha and a range of 3000m at 1000m/s speed and a fire rate of 19rpm. Then you have the much smaller s5 Slayer on the Tonk which gets 32,000! alpha at a range of up to 6100m at only 612m/s and a fire rate of 12rpm. I would take that weapon in the ION any day over the current. Now I know that is a ballistic so it gets more alpha. Give the ION a 20,000 alpha laser cannon at 12rpm and same BS charge but give it 4000m range at least and keep the 1000m/s ammo speed. Would net it a 4000 dps attack, still lower than the tonk unfortunately, but with new armor numbers I guess the Tonk now only has 16,000 alpha on ships. So the ION s7 would fit nicely just above a s5 ballistic.
So most ballistics got more ammo, some certain ballistic weapon types ammo count amounts also got lowered, like the ad5b for example. (but this is reasonable and quite balanced)

Just some very small gripes, all my opinion, disregard if you wish:
1) Music just barely too loud. It is a little distracting.
2) Spend a little more time proofreading your slides especially with the maths/values, was some errors (not updating the alpha dmg/regen cost of the Omnisky-9s, made it confusing)
3) I would describe the efficiency of damage per regen the opposite, as in exactly as it sounds, damage divided by regen cost. This says the Omnisky-9 is 33% more efficient than the Attritions, or M5As are 100% or twice as efficient.

Thanks! Yep yep, I'll be paying closer attention to that in future videos!
Corsair with 4 rev Gatling and two M6As. Always fun to watch
So most ballistics got more ammo, some certain ballistic weapon types ammo count amounts also got lowered, like the ad5b for example. (but this is reasonable and quite balanced)
This was extremely informative thanks for the video!
I can barley concentrate on the video bc of the epic music ;D KUDOS totally diggin it
Great video! Subscribed!
New to the game. But rocket pods definitely seem like an air to ground kind of weapon. The other weapons seem really hard to hit infantry.
