Gary Haisman (29 January 1958 - 28 November 2018)[1][2] was an English singer and one of three acts whose No. 1 songs on the Billboard Hot Dance Music/Club Play chart were featured on D Mob’s A Little Bit of This, a Little Bit of That album (the others being Cathy Dennis and LRS).[3] His contribution to the set was the two-sided track “We Call It Acieed”/“Trance Dance”,[4] which was the first of D Mob’s four straight No. 1 hits on the Dance chart in 1989. This is seriously one of the coolest songs in the entire rave era. Not necessarily one of the best songs, but one of the coolest songs. And it's pretty good to.
I was fortunate enough to see this on TBS Night Tracks, before they dumped that programme...it was YEARS before I could bear to watch TBS again after that...This song was impressive, but in the States, horribly underrated. Deserved FAR MORE airplay in America.
Fun fact: the record company would only pay for two minutes as they taught it would not do as well. The version here has probably been edited, reusing some of the footage to get the video to the single version's length.
Soundtrack to many a teen disco and the reason I had so many acid t-shirts in the late 80s. Who could have predicted that the whole smiley face thing would become so diluted and mainstream, back then it was a statement of your lifestyle.
Gary haisman,,,,what a gezzer!! One of my dads oldest and closest friends….. Grew up on this track and many others. Also Terry Farleys stuff!!! another Chelsea and slough boy 💙 Cor mate I dread to think what my dad and Gary are up to up there 🤣🤣🤣

@@theoriginaldanalogue No. Not really. I don’t know what you’re talking about. That song was played in the clubs and raves, they were the drugs of choice. I also mention a Henry of weed, I suppose you’re going to tell me the song is not about ganja aswell? What about Valium? Is the song not about that aswell? Mr fucking know it all.!
@@kennypope4111 yes that is exactly what I’m saying. It has absolutely nothing to do with what you’re talking about I even directed you to a line in the song explaining it if you bothered to listen. So Mr know absolutely nothing, let me explain in very simple terms so your small brain gets it. The song is about a genre of music not the drug LSD/acid. The drug of choice taken by ravers was ecstasy - anyone who has read a book or understands anything about popular culture would understand that. Please, stop embarrassing yourself. Rave culture and ecstasy went hand in hand. Not acid! Acid house is the genre of music. Please for your own sake, read a book or something.

Damn!
yep RIP Gary! A very misunderstood song back in the day (the pill vs the music genre)

80s Was the Single most Unique Decade with such variety in music and entertainment.
Wish it could've lasted longer 😪
The techno revolution started in the 90s this song was the precursor
You’re right there were so many varieties, some only lasted a couple of years, some stretched to the early 90s.
@@ShamanTiers Acid House was huge in the late 80s

This is the most official alternative edit version of this music video of a song
The Residents Going Mental in a Dustbin

Micro dots, Pink Floyd’s, Purple Ohm’s , double dip strawbs, Henry and a couple of Cox’s blues to chill later.
Which is exactly what the song and the video are NOT about.

I didn't get the sulfur into acid perk this time round.
Not so dark, please. We have to see D Mob's facial expressions.
