Great video as always Gerry. U give great care to the animals. That week was torture with the frozen water especially in the parlour as you said. I ended up hiring out a big kerosene space heater and leaving it running during the night. It done the trick anyway 😂
We are on the defrost at the moment 5 inch of snow to turn to water and run off somewhere. There is always something to keep you entertained... stay safe 🏴
On your wood shutters it may be wood worm and if so it’s Pretty easy to treat with Cuprinol or other products available on line. What I wood suggest is the bottom boards where they are permanently wet are treated (tanalised timber maybe) before they go down. A concrete slat where it’s permanently wet wood be better than timber as wet timber (no matter what quality or treatment) will eventually rot. Cheers as always for the content along with your rival over at IFarm we Farm. Was just amazed his Massey started in this weather. 😀👍☘️
I’ve not minded the cold once I warmed up. First 2days I was in a tractor with no heating 🥶 followed by a day in the workshop trying to fix the tractor heating with no heating in the barn 🤣🤦♂. Now I’m sat snivelling and sneezing 🤣🤦♂
Hello gerry.bet ur glad the thaw has come back.it was a pain for everyone.what dose do u give the cattle down the throat for the worms.there looking good.keep up the good videos.i taught the horses were goin to jump over the gate when u went in to clean out the shed.are they ready for lepardstown for the Xmas races😂🤣😅🏇🏇🏇🏇🏇
It’s just a standard worm and fluke drench. I find it works well and very cost effective. Yea it wouldn’t be the first time they’d have jumped a gate 😂
Sheep dip for the lice, water it down to the correct deloution and I was all cattle down. It a disinfectant for the she’s also. Don’t use any app for records. It’s all kept in diary. Old school 😁👍
Because the drench is a better more accurate kill for worms and all 3 stages of fluke. Pour on is the easy way out. Not as effective. Drench is also cheaper
Our water just came back on in the sheds at 8pm this evening, I jumped for joy to say the least 🙌
It’s a relief to have it back. Thawing frozen pipes or filling drinkers is a extra job we don’t need.😁👍
Great video gerry, thawing out now. Great looking cattle.

Be sick for Christmas. Sounds like something I’d do 😂
@@gerry6420 I don’t always have the best ideas 🤷♂️🤣🤣
@gerry6420... Now that you have a couple of seasons on them what are your thoughts on the more industrial biased tires on the loader?
Love them. I will never go back to tractor tyres on a loader. That answers it all

What were you vaccinating the weanlings for Gerry
How do you keep farm records medicines animal movements app on the phone and what product did you treat the cattle for lice
Sheep dip for the lice, water it down to the correct deloution and I was all cattle down. It a disinfectant for the she’s also. Don’t use any app for records. It’s all kept in diary. Old school 😁👍
Do you take the head scoop off or it's left on all the time gerry? and ye it's a super looking job
No
It’s left on all the time
Y did u not use closamectin pour on to worm your cattle? It does for lice also and means one less handling. We like it over here
Because the drench is a better more accurate kill for worms and all 3 stages of fluke. Pour on is the easy way out. Not as effective. Drench is also cheaper
Weanlings looking very strong Gerry. Will you be killing cattle soon or a bit to go yet??
Yea weanlings done well this year. No won’t have any to kill for 2-3 months
Would u not treat all the timber in the shed for woodworm, it would be unusual if it hasn't spread to the rest
I might do. Few has mentioned it. I’ll have shed washed out in January and I’ll wash the Timbers and and fo it
Woodworm love fresh timber too so that will need a coat too
Gerry are you going to have a few pints over the Christmas 😂
I’ll have drinks at home with family…. 😁👌
@@gerry6420 good man yourself 👍🏻
How come you are not using ur big green dump-trailer instead of that old trailer for ur street muck
Dump trailer isn’t ours. It’s friend of ours. We only have it on loan sometimes
@@gerry6420 o right
We had minus 15 here in Gloucestershire on Thursday
Jesus you had it cold… we thought we had it bad
Did you get any snow or just cold and frost?
Just frosted
Just frost
👍🙏😀❤️🇮🇪
