A shout out to Jake for his efforts on the camera shots. He doesn't complain at all while running alongside the vehicles to get the good camera angels and trying to keep up with the vehicles. Love the Morr crew and their entertaining videos.
Nice to see the customer caring about cleaning the incident site and try to help with the axle. To be fair they were working as a team and weren't far behind the wrecker. Nice job by all including the customer.
This spider web thing brought back a distant memory. 50 years ago, I spent considerable time working with a rigger that had the reputation for making spider webs. I learned a lot from him. He was the best teacher I ever had. RIP Al. I still miss you.
Katelyn is full of surprises !!! Here's people telling her how to drive... . When she's actually quite high up in the rock crawler world... . Katelyn obviously has great skills and experience.. There's grown men that would be too scared to get behind the wheel of most of these tricky recoverys !!!!
That, and they had the suzuki dropped at camp as if they fully intended to get it back to at least a rolling chassis right where they camped... 👍... just 👍
Today's recovery was quite enjoyable compared to some of the very short video's were getting lately... I love watching recovery of vehicles... That's what it's about... That's why I subscribed... short recovery videos leave me wishing for more big jobs with Matt and Katelyn and the hole team on site like this one 👍
Watching the crew build the wrecker I always thought what they were building was incredible but I didn't think it would function well. It's so functional it makes so many jobs look too easy.
I know other recovery channels have claims of having the world largest off-road wreckers because they’re actually larger but I have hard time believing they are as versatile as MORR’s. Can actually go in almost all off-road trails.
Exactly. Matt has said that the goal was not the largest wrecker possible (the military has those) but the largest wrecker that can navigate what most people call Jeep trails. :)
The Wrecker is a versatile tool for the MORR team. It does exactly what it needs to do - it cannot imagine someone has anything better for the work they do
Gotta agree it's not the biggest but sure goes good and does the work it's expected . You can't roll a tank over with it but it does work well in all areas . I think it got hung up once .
At 7:23 - isn't it dangerous to wrap your fingers around steering wheel, especially when traversing terrain like that? I heard old truckers were holding the wheel gripping the rim only, without wrapping fingers, so when jolt suddenly spins the steering wheel, it will not break their fingers.
@@michalkupczyk7 safety takes a back seat more than it should. She said he was going faster than she would like. A few videos ago Kauhlin got a rock slingshotted into his face. Feel like someone’s really going to get hurt.
@ I was always taught to keep my thumbs out of the wheel when driving, especially when offroad. The British Army made its novice drivers wear socks on their hands when offroad to ensure they gripped the wheel properly.
Just taking a moment to appreciate being able to see Matt do all these crazy jobs while he still can . Eventually like us all he will grow old enough that his body won’t be able to keep up with his mind idk just wanted to appreciate what we have now and not regret it in the future
Swinging it off back is the best way to swing it! Also, these darn synthetic lines work so terrible, a certain Casey from Oregon consistently succeeds in pulling, lifting and flipping much heavier stuff with them. I dont know how his heavy rescue business is not out of business yet, because the intertubes said so!
Hey Matt and gang, I may have said this before, but, I feel like you, with your excellent fab skills, could make a bar that you could hook to your pintail hitch to that you could soft shackle to the towed vehicle that would keep the towed vehicle from hitting the the boom on the wrecker. Anyway, I love your channel. Thanks for all the positive vibes.
A safety note from the old days, primarily when we didn't have power steering. When you grip the steering wheel keep your thumbs outside of the wheel. If a tire catches something quickly it can spin the steering wheel hard and fast. If your thumb is inside the steering wheel when it spins from the tire it can break your thumb.
This is possibly the most catastrophic damage I’ve seen done at sand hollow. And I’ve rolled my jeep as well. Never thought I’d see an entire axle come out from under a vehicle while wheeling. Had to have been some low grade hardware or something prematurely broke before he hit that obstacle
😂 lol ... I mean telling Katlyn how to drive and actually put her in a bad spot . It's frustrating sometimes .. Katlyn is quite high up in the rock crawler world , She knows what she's doing !!! .. I think it's quite dangerous to have two people giving orders... Matt had the situation.. it could of ended badly if it had of slipped like that and rolled .
I think the problem is that you just don't know they won't work. That is the basis for the vast amount of discoveries made by mankind. Matt, you are in the forefront of designing " things that don't work" but are remarkable in their abilities to work. Excellent job, glad to see almost the whole family there. We need a video of the whole family doing an " impossible" recovery. I can't imagine anything being impossible when you decide to do it
The record would work better if Matt would remember to put tow straps on a vehicle is towing out along with the lift straps it wasn't sway so much back and forth and it wouldn't jump up in the air so much
"Confess your faults one to another, and pray for one another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much." James 5:16 KJV
I've seen a number of your rescues and want to know why you don't build an anti-bump bar towing bar? Think 2 pieces of square or round stock, slip fit (length to end of boom from pintle hitch), with a stiff spring in it. That would keep the vehicle being towed from bouncing against the tow vehicle (wrecker in this case) and limit it's movement. The slip fit between the two would allow the vehicle being towed to move backward/forward a limited amount - 2 feet or so - and prevent it from slamming into the wrecker because of the spring. The pintle hitch allows the vehicle to articulate a lot but prevent it from hitting the truck.
It's called a Suzuki Samurai in the U.S, I think every where else in the world it's known as the Suzuki Jimny. Basically a later version of Ed's Golden Nugget.
Matt should make fabricate a bar with 2 female trailer hitches on it use it so that it would keep the offroad wrecker and whatever it is towing separated from hitting. I dont know if it would work with all the twisting differences between, but it may. Just a suggestion...
Matt I Love watching the Wrecker work!Brother she's the biggest,Baddest and way coolest wrecker out there and this recovery in reverse up them rock!!OMG you Utah boys are a certain breed indeed,Wow!!And while I Love the Morvair and the banana 🍌. The Wrecker is my Favorite.
Look in your Websters under Trail Dog and you'll find a picture of PEANUT. That Pupper is amazing. She's the Best Spotter on the MORR Crew. Major Enjoyment.
Loved the line ‘rear axle delete….’ To date I believe Katelane is the first person to trail ride in a vehicle with a rear axle delete. Thanks for sharing.
I don't know why people would say that those low friction fairleads on the wreckers boom won't work. Yeah, they may not be as gentle on the ropes as an outer recovery boom head but they will work fine. If you were pulling the rope through them faster or did a lot of really heavy pulls, then no, they would burn your ropes up too fast, but the jobs you do with the wrecker, as we've all seen, the ropes will last a long time.
Man...... The Wrecker just continues to impress. Who knew that Ol' Red Beard was really Spider Man!!! Wow! P.S. Kaitlyn's skills just keep improving. Safe Travels
Hello my friend !!! I'm following from New Zealand 👍 ... Great to know that you enjoy seeing Matt's off road recovery . I love it so much . Plus I get to see the country, It's the best recovery content on TH-cam.. bless you my friend.
I’ve enjoyed all of your video for many years. One thing I really dislike that so many channels resort to is fake pictures of accidents with cut and paste crap to draw you in. PLEASE use real pictures. I now skip the fake channels even if the subject is one I’m interested in

Nice to see the customer caring about cleaning the incident site and try to help with the axle. To be fair they were working as a team and weren't far behind the wrecker. Nice job by all including the customer.
Not to mention it was pretty innovative.
Rory might be known for being great at reversing, but Katelynn can do it on two wheels while tailgating the wrecker at speed.
This spider web thing brought back a distant memory. 50 years ago, I spent considerable time working with a rigger that had the reputation for making spider webs. I learned a lot from him. He was the best teacher I ever had. RIP Al. I still miss you.
I absolutely love that Katelyn has so much time behind the wheel. She is such a trooper and always a huge smile.
Yeah, but given her tasks her personal kit should include goggles and dust mask.
She is amazing. 😊😊😊😊
Well even Rory's intimidated by Katelyn's rockcrawling prowess, I think she's been doing competitive rockcrawling since she was 10?

As someone who goes up to sand hollow quite a lot, she is better than 99% of these people commenting.
A+ on ingenuity on those guys towing axle....that was brilliant
That, and they had the suzuki dropped at camp as if they fully intended to get it back to at least a rolling chassis right where they camped... 👍... just 👍

I don't know what it is about Matt, but he just seems like a genuinely good and nice guy!
All you guys and gals are great but peanut is the sweetest of them all. Living the life that a dog would prefer. Pats, food, baths and exercise.
And to think they found her along the road!
I want Peanut's job after I retire.

The crew Mr. Matt has is just perfect. They have a groove that works … Hope Mr. Ed’s doing good. 😊
