Ditto on the same age... I distinctly remember listening to this round my girlfriend's mate's house, getting stoned together. She was 16 I was 18/19... nothing 'wrong' happened, but my girlfriend probably would've gone nuts anyway!
Skunk Anansie are timeless! Will listen to em' forever. This clip was filmed at Lake Gairdner in South Australia. Hope they make it back here one day in the near future 🥺 Long Live Skunk! 💛
I only bought this album to fit in with the cool crowd at school back in 1996. I thought they would like me if I started listening to the same music as them. I actually ended up actually enjoying some of the songs off of Stoosh, especially this and We Love Your Apathy but then I got into metal and ultimately eschewed mainstream music. My CD now resides with my sister who always wanted my copy anyway but I still enjoy some songs from it. Thanks TH-cam and whoever uploaded it.
this is pretty good, but there's equally good music being made nowadays too. it's such a shame that so many people appreciate good music when they were young become so narrowminded.
Good music doesn't age. Took twenty years for me to finally hear this music for the first time. Took that long for all the 1990s shit piled on top of it to decompose.

I remember buying this album damn what a voice and amazing band!! Straight catchy rock music and what can I say about her voice!! 2023 and listening to this in the car driving on the beach ! Yeh
I was a young Muay Thai fighter back in the 90s and when I heard this song it was my go to after every training session! Everyday hurts and it did! I won a few titles! Thanks skunk U don't and will ever know what U did for me👌👍🤟
or just recording it of the radio onto tape and cranking it on the walkman....ahh the good ole days of waiting for a song to come on so you could hit that record button. None of this download and instant get for us early nineties kids ;)
Listened to this on the radio in the summer of ´96 in the Atlantic Coast of Argentina. Always knew it was Skunk Anansie... but never knew the title of the song. Today I found it. Pretty solid band.
This was such a awesome album, awsome band, absolutely stunning voice. Such an underrated band. One of my go to cds when I cant decide what to listen to.
I was introduced to SA in my early 30s I fell in love with Skin's voice, I love that she is a rocker chick but can be velvety smooth as well. I'm in my 50s now and this still slaps! 😍😍🔥🔥
Can beat that old rocker at 68 ! The band and her are simply brilliant ! What a voice ❤thought Grace Slick from Jefferson Airplane could sing - Jesus Skin is awesome
Great song, great band. Ive always followed this band from the corner of my eye. Only thing that this band always missed are a few angry, blistering, kick ass guitar solos. These songs almost get me to the boiling point but it cuts off just shy of an eargasm. Cmon guys.....take me there! Finish him!!! :D
Probably would have sung this every single morning in the shower had I known of it when it was new. Because every day did indeed hurt a little more, but it's got a killer beat as if to say "-but still doesn't hurt enough to even make me flinch."
SKUNK ANANSIE - STOOSH Skunk Anansie are a British rock band whose members include Skin (lead vocals, guitar), Cass (bass, guitar, backing vocals), Ace (guitar, backing vocals) and Mark Richardson (drums and percussion). Skunk Anansie formed in 1994, disbanded in 2001 and reformed in 2009. The name "Skunk Anansie" is taken from Akan folk tales of Anansi the spider-man of Ghana, with "Skunk" added to "make the name nastier". They have released six studio albums: Paranoid & Sunburnt (1995), Stoosh (1996), Post Orgasmic Chill (1999), Wonderlustre (2010), Black Traffic (2012) and Anarchytecture (2016); one compilation album, Smashes and Trashes (2009); and several hit singles, including "Charity", "Hedonism", "Selling Jesus" and "Weak". They are often grouped as part of the Britrock movement, as opposed to the contemporary Britpop of their early years due to their overall harder sound. The band, in 2004, was named as one of the most successful UK chart acts between 1952 and 2003 by the Guinness Book of British Hit Singles & Albums, with a total of 142 weeks on both the singles and album charts ranking them at No. 491. Skunk Anansie have sold 5 million records. Influences: Skin has described Skunk Anansie as a "clit-rock" group, which Allmusic clarifies as "an amalgam of heavy metal and black feminist rage". Members Skin and Ace have mentioned the Sex Pistols, Blondie, dub, reggae, electronica, hip-hop and world music as significant influences. Other media: The band also covered The Stooges' song "Search and Destroy" specifically for the soundtrack of Zack Snyder's film Sucker Punch, released on 25 March 2011. The soundtrack also includes a Skunk Anansie remix of the song "Army of Me" by Björk. Band members: Deborah "Skin" Dyer - lead vocals, guitar, theremin, piano, keyboards (1994-2001; 2009-present), Martin "Ace" Kent - guitar, backing vocals (1994-2001; 2009-present), Richard "Cass" Lewis - bass, guitar, backing vocals (1994-2001; 2009-present), Mark Richardson - drums, percussion, backing vocals (1995-2001; 2009-present), Former members: Robbie France - drums, percussion (1994-1995; died 2012), Touring members: Erika Footman - keyboards, backing vocals. The discography of Skunk Anansie, an English rock band, consists of six studio albums and twenty-four singles, including one re-issue. The band's members include Skin (Deborah Dyer), Cass (Richard Lewis), Ace (Martin Kent) and Mark Richardson. The group formed in 1994 and disbanded in 2001; they re-united in 2009. Skunk Anansie are named after the West African folk tales of Anansi the Spider-man, with "Skunk" added to "make the name nastier". And I have the great, great honor of having five CD-albums in my discography, including the greatest hits collection by Skunk Anansie, led by the charismatic vocalist and songwriter, Skin. Therefore, I have the CD-Album PARANOID & SUNBURNT (1995), only a single copy. The second studio CD-Album, STOOSH (1996), I think was the biggest commercial success of the group, I also have a single copy of this CD-Album. I still have two units of Skunk Anansie's third studio CD-Album, entitled POST ORGASMIC CHILL (1999), one of my favorites. And, finally, also a single copy of the collection SMASHES AND TRASHES (2009), also on CD-Album, which includes the hits from the three previous CD-albums, three new songs and two acoustic versions. As I mentioned, there are five Skunk Anansie CD-albums! Stoosh is the second studio album by British rock band Skunk Anansie, released on 7 October 1996. Professional ratings: AllMusic's Tom Demalon stated: "Skunk Anansie's full-frontal charge can be wearing at times, but for a good dose of aggressive, hard rock with better-than-average lyrics, Stoosh succeeds more than it fails." Tom Sinclair of Entertainment Weekly wrote that the record "finds Skunk Anansie trading their debut's polite Pat Benatar-ish rock for a bigger, more confrontational sound that flirts with metallic overkill even as it embraces folk and pop", adding that "they've toughened up with Stoosh." In 2005, Stoosh was ranked number 367 in Rock Hard magazine's book The 500 Greatest Rock & Metal Albums of All Time. In 2020, PopMatters's Enio Chiola featured the record on its list for "15 Overlooked and Underrated Albums of the 1990s." I only bought this album to fit in with the cool crowd at school back in 1996. I thought they would like me if I started listening to the same music as them. Still love this just as much as during my teenage years. It still applies too, now it's my back and hip that hurts more every day 😆
I just turned 60 and I still love 'em. Saw them a couple of years ago and they still kick ass!
I was 11 and now I'm 35. Stoosh was the first album that I played on a discman, got hooked on it. Great song and great bass!
The base and lead guitarists in Skunk were just killing it -add Skin in and you have one unbelievable band
I remember this from my teenage years. Still kicks ass!
I remember this from my 30's and it still kicks arse!
Skin is an absolute legend I hope she never dies! ♥️ 🤘
20 years ago ? seems like yesterday and still sounds as fresh. brilliant
Good music doesn't age.
Took twenty years for me to finally hear this music for the first time. Took that long for all the 1990s shit piled on top of it to decompose.
Drums are honest, Skin is simply Skin, but do we need to mention the excellent job of guitar and bass? Underrated song!
yeah one of my favorite bass lines ever
Bassist is killing it.
Totally agree
This song feels as fresh today as the day it was released. An incredibly passionate voice! Amazing
A timeless tune ❤️ everyday rocks!

Everyday hurts
I cried in the sunlight
Would I fake all the times I loved you
Just a play in a game I twisted with you, with you
I need to believe you
Sacrificed all the lies we made up
How we kissed

Masterpiece
Skunk Anansie were so good (and so criminally overlooked here in North America)!
Isn't every band that is different on US airplay? Only a few stations would play something as gutsy as this?

i know exactly what you mean. One of my all time favorite bands since I first heard them in my teens, and i am coming up to 30 now.
Probably would have sung this every single morning in the shower had I known of it when it was new. Because every day did indeed hurt a little more, but it's got a killer beat as if to say "-but still doesn't hurt enough to even make me flinch."
Who can admit Ghanaian people are the world's most beautiful?
❤️
I'd say the Danes, Ukrainians and Venezuelans are top 3 imho
Thanks again, it’s like scratching an itch
You haven't lived till you shook your head to the beat of this song and dancing round your house screaming everyday hurts
TOTALLY UNDERRATED
