↓ LYRICS ↓
If this world is wearing thin
And you're thinking of escape
I'll go anywhere with you
Just wrap me up in chains
But if you try to go out alone
Don't think I'll understand
(Stay) Stay with me
Stay with me
In the silence of your room
In the darkness of your dreams
You must only think of me
There can be no in-betweens
When your pride is on the floor
I'll make you beg for more
(Stay) Stay with me
Stay with me
You'd better hope and pray
That you make it safe back to your own world
You'd better hope and pray
That you wake one day in your own world
'Cuz when you sleep at night
They don't hear your cries in your own world
Only time will tell
If you can break the spell back in your own world
(Stay) Stay with me
(Stay) Stay with me
(Stay) Stay, stay with me ahh-haaa
(Stay) Stay, stay, stay, stay, stay
(Stay)

I am glad that one of my favorite songs of all time is getting the attention it deserves, thanks Ghost, for bringing these incomparably talented ladies back into the spotlight! ❤️🦇
Yes yes yes!!! I got super excited to learn Ghost gave it the wonderful metal treatment it deserves. ❤❤❤
And Patric Wilson who is a phenomenal vocalist
Now Ghost (and Patrick Wilson!) need to remake this amazing video. They'd do an incredible job of it, too. Maybe as a wink and nod one of the Ghouls or Ghoulettes could play the "dying lover" part out of costume?
Absolutely. I'm a massive Ghost fan and I didn't think their take brought it justice on my first listen. It has since grown on me but you can't really beat it when the original is one of my favourite songs.
I loved this song when it came out and finding out Ghost & Patrick Wilson made a cover made me so happy. It was just what i needed
Even today, 30 years later, this is still a beautiful song.
Exactly
Yes 😊
No
YES!!! Every dang time it makes me cry from 17-46(present). So blessed to have had this in my deep teen years though
Yes so true
The composition of this track is so original. You just don't see tracks made like this any more. So happy they decided to get back together and make amends.
OK, the vocals are incredible. But "Death" is so deliriously bat-shot insane, she's awesome.
Without her, this song would be a good, love song. With her, it's masterpiece.
i met someone like that. exactly. the deep impression is exactly like that. she even looked like this woman. it s something else. i would not say awesome.
@@eucariote79 Why wouldn't that be awesome?
😂
@@bansheeeierkuchenkiller LOL! "Bat-shot insane" is only awesome when it's a put on for an acting role.
Fantastic song. Not about death but about living with someone with depression and suicidal tendencies. Incredible lyrics and performance.
It’s actually about Cat Women On The Moon.

One of the most iconic eye rolls of the 90s… I love this video so damn much.
1992
Now You see it everyday on the Karen videos uploaded every two hours
1992. Here.
she was very drunk
It's just the 90s 😮
34 years on and its still so original. There no song like it.
It blow my friends from the younger generation off the chair everytime I show it to them.
Totally agree 💯
It been that long!!! Damn I'm old..
Can't believe it's been that long! I remember watching this video on Top of the Pops when it came out.
ABSOLUTELY!!!
I love Marcella and her voice. But who always waited for Siobhan's part? I would rewind just to hear her again.
I can't get over Siobhan. She really makes this video with her expressions and movement.
She was high on speed
She nearly ruined it, but...
She was drunk
Ok. Which is it: drunk or speeding? 😂
she was bored shooting a music video all day, so she drank vodka. when it was her turn for her part of the video, she stumbled. in the end, her performance was great just because of that 😁
The woman who's the incorporation of death in this song is pure genius...her voice range, how she plays with it, the expressions, even when she gave up at the end and looked so fond of those love-sick fools....it's a masterpiece.
😊It’s the best part of the song . I remember when I first heard this on radio lol 😂
And then she raises HER eyebrows at the lover's overacting, after having done 30 seconds of extravagant, completely over the top overacting of her own. The whole thing is so much fun.
Shioban, Exfrau von Dave Stewart. Das Video ist richtig richtig gut ❤
Fun fact: She was hammered on vodka for the filming of this. They'd spent all day waiting around on set and didn't start filming until like 8pm, so Siobhan spent all day drinking vodka while they waited.
Keeps me coming back.
“You better hope and pray…..”. Magnificent switch ..
Perfection!!
""Yesss!!!🎉🎉🎉

I`m much older than you. and i was in that situation before, right at the brink of my mind. You don`t want to hear this, but you`ll get through this mess and get out much stronger ! Hang on, fokus... step by step . This will NOT kill you at all !
@@justusstern9125 You're right. Been through bad situations before, even 5 years of prison (and facing at least 10 in the beginning). But everything's mind over matter, isn't it?
I fell in love with this song when it first came out and now I am falling in love with it again. It gave me chills when I first heard it and hearing Ghost’s cover gave me chills again.
Same. The fact Ghost is doing 2 versions of Stay makes it twice as nice. The duet one with Patrick Wilson for Insidious end credits and one all Tobias for the Impera box set!
Ghost did a beautiful job too ❤
The Cradle of Filth version is the best.
I’m a child of the 80’s & 90’s and I’ve no idea how I missed this song, but I’m glad I’m a GHOST fan cause it led me here.
kcuF ghost. And cher lloyd too.
I love her eye roll at the end like "Whatever Mortals, I'm out!"
"BRB anyway."
She was drunk. True.

Tears the first time I heard it 30 years ago, tears every damn time I hear it. Timeless masterpiece. I miss this mind-blowing show of artistry and talent in music.
When Siobhan, with her beautiful smile, descends the stairs is my favorite moment. The look of crazy and confidence that she is going to take his soul gives me shivers every time.
The look of crazy is because she was smashed off her box, she drank a lot of vodka and had some herbal inspiration, the whole shoot was gonna be canned, but the director loved her facial expressions, hence why there's a lot of jump cuts when siobhan is on camera, never more than a few seconds of her on film at a time, makes a great video though

This is not only a great song, but also an amazing video. Most of the singers from the 80s and 90s were true artists. They could sing and act. Two things that you rarely see in today’s music industry. This is the golden era of the video music.
This song has always and will continue to make me weep. A real underrated classic ❤❤❤
This will be forever locked in my brain. Went for an Expat job to Ireland in March 1992. They played this song up and down as one of the women was Irish. Met the love of my life and married in 1995. Still in Ireland and the tears are starting to run down.

Marcella and Siobhan voices were a perfect match. The contrast of light and darkness...flawless! And Siobhan's entrance in the video is stunning!

Mad Respect to Siobhan Fahey aka Death. From Bananarama to Shakespears Sister, very few in music history have pulled off such a change (in music and look) with success. I remember watching this the first time, thinking that can't be the same person.

@@JafoThaKlown that must have been a cruel summer for you
I never get why Marcella doesn't get more credit. I've seen fans talk like she's just a backup singer, this song is magic because of her
Probably because Siobhan was in Bananarama and they were like a European version of The Bangles, they were huge over here and she was beloved because of that. Marcella was always going to be second fiddle to Siobhan, at least in much of Europe.
Personally, I love Marcy for what she wrote and sang together with Clapton.

First watched this on VH1 Classics on 2014 and nine years later, I still love it
A piece of genius.
Это не клип,это шедевр современной музыки.Как невероятно исполнены и сыграны роли.До слёз.Где есть любовь,там смерть бессильна.❤❤❤❤❤
"where there is love, death is powerless"...incredible, thanks so much for this ♡ xx
