To me this song is among the very top best masterpieces ever made. And not just because of Skin's voice. The whole composition is just perfect. They were all brilliant.
This and Filter's "You Walk Away" are two songs I often use to demonstrate to people how a rock song should work from a construction point of view.

Absolutely, at first I was like "this is some heavy funky stuff" but then halfway through I was like "these sounds are actually pleasant and harmonic" and not harsh or beating into my ears.
Even Pavarotti himself regarded Skin as a phenomenal vocal artist. Saying it was his honor to sing with her and that her power put him to shame.

For me, personally, it's really an added value when it comes to the listening experience when there is an ethical or moral dilemma being confronted lyrically. The tension between it finds its expression in the song, in the music. It's therefore always a suprise when you come to the conclusion that an emotional response was triggered just by listening. The part of the movie Hollow Man where this song's playing still cracks me up😁👌🏻. This song's the reason I bought Post Orgasmic Chill when it came out and I still love it years later. There's nothing like crankin' CBP in the stereo in the car and singing/screaming along. You get some weird looks but...meh🤷🏻♀️.
