Saw a small slice of this in the early nineties in Ottawa. Would see some WAR skins (White Aryan Resistance) around downtown. Someone pointed out a Heritage Front patch on their jackets. There was also SHARP skins (Skinheads Against Racial Prejudice). Heard about some scuffles between the two, but I never saw anything myself. Apparently you could tell the difference between them by the colour of their laces on their doc martens.

I wonder how Doc Marten feels about that association?
1993 was a heck of a bloody year for the skinheads, hammerheads, WAR, the Heritage Front, etc, etc. It was a time of true resurgence in the far right scene. They were everywhere and at the centre of it was Grant.
Thanks for the anecdote! They are always welcome and appreciated.

I hope this doesn’t sound crass considering the topic, but I just want to commend the stellar design aesthetic of the video, from the Vapor wave tunes to video tape digital fuzz to the MS DOS and Windows inspired visuals to match that 80’s & early 90’s era in Canada. This is what really makes Dive In’s videos standout to me and add so much depth toll his impressive research and story telling. It’s truly award winning documentary material! I’d love to see you get some CanCon sponsorship or funding for your work!

Shoooooot you got me. Thanks very much. This one was a weird topic so I went out on a limb and tried some era appropriate styling. It’s a great feeling to know that you noticed and enjoyed my work.

The people Grant funded and connected are still active in the white power scene so , yes, it probably is.

Having watched this one earlier, I can't help but watch it again now that it's released. Excellent video, my man. Had it on background but soon stopped what I was doing to watch it all.

Thanks! It’s a hell of a topic and we are glad you come back for a second watch. Really soak in all that information.

As someone who grew up in St. Albert in the 80s and 90 I some how missed all of this, and it's kind of hilarious that this guy used to live less than 5 minutes from me. Crazy how small teh world can be

He only moved there in the mid 90’s so you might have only had a small window to be adjacent to it all.
It is nuts how small the world is, ain’t it?

Really dont know how to feel about Bristow after all of this.. he did and supported awful things to rub shoulders with villains. He gathered a lot of info to help shut villains down. Hes still more of a villain himself and absolutely not a hero.
Nobody could do what he did today - their cover would be blown almost instantly via social media
Undeniably though the visuals you put together especially in the first half are absolutely incredible and a phenomenal way to keep people engaged through this

Thanks! We really appreciate that. Grant is a polarizing figure. You’re right, he can’t be classified as a pure hero but can any spy? The SIRC even admitted that he had to do some questionable things to keep his deep cover. When does the ends justify the means?

Jeremy MacKenzie, Derek Harrison and Alex Vriend are doing this today. They call it "Diagolon"

      What makes it racist?

Good for tadders admitting that their comment is racist
