    PSP 1000 with a damaged shell is on the way to get that one recorded. Keep an eye out on the channel for when it gets uploaded in the near future.... if it actually works. It was being sold as-is, so we shall see about actually functionality.

    Clearly the person who played TIC TAC TOE on a PSP SCREEN has an IQ lesser than the amount of buttons on a D-Pad

    Why the hell somebody draw a tic-tac-toe on their PSP 3000 screen!? Stupid teenagers or younger children don't deserve that PSP anymore. It's a good thing you replaced it. Nowadays PSP 2000, 3000 and PSPgo they are rare to find because they are easy hackable to play Homebrew games. Memory stick adapter are very cheap to buy nowadays

      Beats me. It was a fun little project. I picked it up for $20 USD and it came with a 1GB, 2GB, and 32GB card. Money well spent IMO.

      You don't need fancy tools or equipment to do most most small electronic repairs. You can use a fairly inexpensive precision screwdriver set from most retailers or home supply stores. You can use a standard hair dryer to help with the removal of stickers and loosen up adhesive. I use all of these fancy tools as I do soldering and other repairs on other electronics, so they work for what I need. Get the tools that will work for you with the budget you have then down the road if you require better tools then you can look into the many options available.

      @@PixelMaker04 I didn't even use a hair dryer or a heatgun to remove the flex ribbon buttons or the antenna, I just peeled them of very carefully and glued them with a glue stick

    Is that Shell of a good quality in comparison to the original one? I've heard that some replacement shells are terrible and vary in quality.

    • @PixelMaker04
      @PixelMaker04  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It's a softer plastic and breaks easier. It all fits together alright with a bit of trimming on some of the plastic molding from when the pieces were made. It's passable, but it doesn't compare to the original shell. I've only done a shell repair on a 3000 so I can't compare it to a 1000 or 2000.

    Good video and I have two psp but I fell down one and it cannot detect battery anymore. I think maybe some part loose. I probably will watch yr video and dissemble all parts and clean plus assemble to see whether can recovery or not.

    • @PixelMaker04
      @PixelMaker04  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Good luck. Hopefully you can get it working again. It might be one of the metal contacts that needs to be bent back in to place. It sounds like it should be an easy fix anyway.

    What screwdriver did you used? Is it a simple phillips screw driver?

    • @PixelMaker04
      @PixelMaker04  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes they are all phillips screws. I used a small electric screwdriver. You can find it at www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07DB7ZT5P/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1. There are many other of this kind, but it does help with speeding through most disassemblies. I used a standard small screwdriver to get the screws into the new shell as the posts are not threaded.

    hey im thinking of changing all the side silver parts of mine that go all around the system to a different colour, how far into the teardown do i have to go to be able to do this?

    • @PixelMaker04
      @PixelMaker04  ปีที่แล้ว

      If you're planning on replacing all the edge pieces from the top, bottom, and sides be prepared to take it all the apart just in case. You shouldn't have to remove the UMD though, just the the main PCBs. I haven't taken apart a 2000 yet, so that could be a different story. Check out the vid to get an idea of what will need to be done for the edge.

      @@PixelMaker04 thank you for your input :) yeah it honestly looks like from your corona that i might just have to take off the front shell, it seems like you took off all the silver accents right around there, and the top part near the umd, you did a bit later but you could probably do it with just the front off right?

    • @PixelMaker04
      @PixelMaker04  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      From what I remember, you should be able to get to most trim pieces just from taking the front off.

      This really wasn't intended as a tutorial on how to do a shell replacement. This was one of my first edited videos as well, so I am still getting my equipment and recording environment situated and set up. Besides, it's a bit difficult to record clean audio when there's way too much noise pollution in an old house. Hopefully that changes soon to also be able to work on and record my vintage computers.
