Last time I picked up my psp, I was so surprised at how small it was since smart phones are now bigger than it is I miss being a kid when the psp screen felt like playing on an 80in screen
The fact we haven't gotten something like the psp since the vita pisses me off. It would sell millions of units why won't the do it. And no the switch does not count
@clutchbleach2057 my gut says that the juice ain't worth the squeeze. It may not have been as popular as they wanted it to, be or the parts are too unique to risk the start up capital. Or maybe nobody wants to make games for that platform. Everything is about profit and not the value of creating a unique experience so it's too big a risk.
@@vitaliydvorkin1342we’ve done away with proprietary hardware infrastructure nowadays. Consoles are essentially just PCs and the switch is basically an android tablet. Now we have portable windows devices that are made for gaming and are seeing a huge surge in popularity. If Sony were to make a new portable that could play the entire PS4 library off of internal memory they would make so much money. They could even make cartridges to promote development of original games for it like the switch, but imo they wouldn’t even need to because new games could still release for it on the store
......wow I kinda miss my PSP, was kinda a system ahead of its time. Granted portability and disks do not mix either, but it was still a decent idea. All the other things the PSP could do was also quite good, besides being a PS1 in your pocket.
That’s crazy that game looks just like the one I had. The pj is in the same handwriting I used when writing my nickname. Also I was wondering did you possibly get that game in Pennsylvania.
My only issues with the psp was my battery bulged all the time even when new batteries were put in and also how weak the umd housing was which made me lose games as they wouldnt go in the tray
Um, you didn’t have to dismantle & do all that, you can easily access both sensors when the UMD door is open normally. Both the PSP 2000, & 3000 are like this.
I own a PSP 2000 and the leftmost parts of the device are black. When I open a white image, the black parts become white and clear. But when I play games, it is always black. Do you think this is a software or hardware problem?
lmao. using a dkoldies psp for parts and repairs is the most ironic thing ever

Thank you for making this. It looks like the door is just too worn down to hit the sensor.
Hope it turned out well
Nothing is more permanent than a temporary fix that works too well
Did the fix work permanently? If so, it wasn't temporary. Much like redneck engineering, if it's stupid, but works, it's not stupid.
Hands down best starwars game from my childhood 🫡
A transparent cover would look dope
It would be pretty dope if there was an aftermarket clear shell where we could see the disc spinning.
The realest question is who actually uses the discs instead of hacking their PSP?
fr, I have over 3000 games on my psp, and I've never used a disc
I do😊
@@lillyliion well shit, looks like I need to call the SCP foundation cause we just found an anomaly
Love how there were called universal media discs during a time where we already had them. CD/DVD 😂
+respect for mentioning fixes like this aren't as good as replacing a part.

Also remind them not to take there perfectly running gadgets apart for "funsies"!
that star wars battlefront is hands down the best one.

hehe i used to remove that UMD and replace it with bigger batteries

YO! YOU HAVE MY GAME! BATTLEFRONT WITH MY INTIALS I AM WROTE DOWN YEARS AGO.Thats crazy seeing it in some else's video!!! Decades!!
For real?!😮
You also dont need the white part on the umd for it to read in a psp
When i was a kid i broke my little door switch and had to RMA my PSP, that was a boring 3 weeks.
Its his umd switch near the center
Never open up DVD, CD and especially Blu-ray drives and activate them while open, your retina will be gone before you notice
Dude yours awesome for this

I got a couple of PSP's now where the UMD pin door sensor is broken. Any idea how I can bypass this?
My psp hinge where broken off when I tried to put a game in it
Best place to get a psp from?
Not DK Oldies, they don’t fix any broken stuff and will send you a broken one with extra dust as a gift
I got my PSP 2000 Ice Silver a few years back from GameStop for $50 in decent condition, modded it, still works great!
Mine sensor broke😢
On mine the white switch is broken
Is a UMD just a MiniDisc?
Look a-like, yes
Technically, no.
You literally just need a small piece of tape over the latch
