the main story of this movie revolves around Superman but batman got the most character development and more story arc so I think this is both superman and batman movie
Just the way Affleck stares at the batsuit in this scene. Like an alcoholic staring at a bottle, or a junkie at a needle. As much as I enjoy Bale's Batman, I never felt that he "needed' the suit (despite it coming up multiple times throughout the trilogy). This one scene conveys just how tortured Affleck's Bruce Wayne is when he isn't wearing the suit. Ending the scene with Robin's suit is just the cherry on top.
I agree ben affleck portrayed batman in a way no other actor has been able to do. No disrespect to the others besides clooney and kilmers wasnt bad but it dosent make the list. But this portrayal was what people have wanted to see from Thee most popular comic book charachter ever (slightly more popular than superman of course but still more popular). This movie was built with many amazing scenes... but what people judged as bad was the movie itself, not the scenes, not the part... but the story and how it all went together. It was the right movie, the right director, but things just went bad. Too be fair, the extended edition did improve a lot. And to go further, removing the badly done Death of Superman (something I think should have been used to get Cavil out and maybe even end the DCEU). In the end, it was just a bad movie. Each of the scenes though, show the love and effort Zack had for this project. Each scene is more beautiful than any other super hero movie... Show them the scenes and I doubt anyone would doubt this was a great movie... show them the movie and people would wish they stuck to the scenes. If this movie was a dish, then all the parts were cooked properly before put together. The ingredients and everything was near perfect. But when put together, it's ruined. Same problem the prequels had (though I loved the Star Wars prequels).
Most of them just craved for "epic" fake CGI scenes from Marvel movies. But those scenes... they don t even have patience to enjoy the meaning of this masterpiece. Yes. may be our next generations will
@@burakhannarlioglu1663 1st, I believe you are wrong for quality of movies. The MCU is a masterpiece. That said, this movie wasn't a masterpiece, just the individual scenes. But, we should also be fair, the people on top not only caused a lot of issues, but they were trying to "catch up" to the MCU and push out a Justice League before they were ready...
I love how they talk as if Bruce Wayne and Batman are two separate people. I know it’s been done all the time in the comics, movies, and games but I just love the way they do it here.
I disagree heavily. He talks in there as if "Batman" is the real one and Bruce is just some sort of mask to his suit. He even hides it with his persona.
Cyber Doomgirl And that’s the way Batman should be. Snyder and Affleck nailed the character. I’m still iffy on the murdering character arc, but I understand what Snyder was trying to do
@@cybergothika6906 Bruce Wayne is the mask to the suit. Bruce Wayne died with his parents and the batman was born, since then batman is who Bruce really is, his face is just the mask and facade. With that suit.....that's who he is. Bruce Wayne died long time ago.
I always thought Batman had 3 faces- Batman, The Billionaire Playboy Bruce Wayne, and the real Bruce Wayne- the person only Alfred and other close associates see- the real person.
It really breaks my heart that people disrespect Affleck’s Batman they way they do. His Depiction of Bruce Wayne & Batman is the most comics accurate we’ve ever had. His Bruce is literally tortured and in agony. He NAILS it completely. The carefree billionaire playboy act while behind the scenes he’s absolutely suffering, it’s written all over his face and it’s sooo good. The way he looks at the suit, his banter with Alfred.. it’s just perfect casting. Stellar Job. Definitely one of my favorite portrayals ever
Same with Andrew both were great casting choices but wasted on dogshit script and writing Ben here really looks like bruce wayne he showed his anger too he even looks like a handsome billionaire play boy
Hell no, just alone on the fact that he kills people makes his Batman completely wrong, and yes I know snyder tried to deconstruct Batman but imo he completely failed
in my opinion I rather not rewatching any senses of movies I like so I can miss and forget a lot of the movie so I can watch it again I usually check some of the senses just to read the comments without watching the video
Snyders movies are very rewatchable, even the scenes. Show the beginning scene of BVS and the Injustice scene, is there anything like that in comic movies?
Ben Affleck was good as Batman in this movie. Something about Justice League made me like his batman a lot less though. Idk maybe just all the jokes he made. Maybe just all the comedy cues he had where he said something awkward instead of the other guy.
@@Johnny3Batony Don't even have to go across the comic pond, his performance is just... eh, compared to Bale's. It's not terrible, but it is a let down.

The amount of respect Bruce has for Alfred 1- he made him a cup of coffee 2- he was standing up while Alfred sat 3- in Snyder’s cut he said to the justice league that he works for Alfred
I love the dynamic they have in these two films, it really feels to me like the definitive Batman live action interpretation. I hope someday we'll see more of them as these characters.
I always loved that in the comics and movies that man shows each ounce of love he has Alfred Yes there are some moments in games comics and in the movies where hes arguing with him But I love How batfleck shows so much respect to Alfred
@@rumbling3991 yea he is all Bruce has left what I mean is that batfleck is the only batman showing Alfred this much love and respect not saying that the others didn't show respect but ya get what I mean
Max Frankow In my opinion anyone who disagrees that Affleck is the best live action batman should be sorry for pretending to be a batman fan because a batman fan should know what a good batman is like Keaton and Bale were good but they are no way better than Affleck
The only thing I vaguely have in common with Bruce between 1:40 to 1:55 is replacing the Bat Suit with my McDonalds uniform, and looking at it with intense dread.
The Snyder Cut has the power to wipe out the entire Josstice League and if we believe there’s even a %1 chance that it exists, we have to take it as an absolute certainty. And we have to release it.
the coffee scene says a lot. it says while Alfred technically works for Bruce, Bruce still understands Alfred raised him and respects him as more than just a butler almost like an uncle really so Alfred is allowed to say how he feels on things honestly so long as he always helps batmans plans even if he doesn't like them
The way Bruce is staring at the batsuit is like an alcoholic staring at a beer. It also further emphasizes that Bruce Wayne is the mask and Batman is his TRUE SELF. This film nails that perfectly
I think Alfred isn't a butler in this version , I think he pretends to be a butler when there are guests or parties .. But yeah I think he's just his helper
I love how that even if you don't know the story of Jason Todd, that 5 seconds alone with the suit tells you everything you need to know on why Batman has no respect for criminals
mr. Wldasoldmysoul4pussyasateen This movie is sh*t don't get me wrong, but I knew watching this movie without knowing anything but the movies that Joker killed Robin and Batman has given up his morals. All of that is done in 5 seconds and it's beautiful. I'm not a comic book guy I like good movies (which this isn't but a great scene)
mr. Wldasoldmysoul4pussyasateen I didn't even know there were more than two robins because I only knew Robin from the 60s and 90s. I was blind and then looked it up
I honestly didn't have the faintest fucking clue what that suit was until reading several comments on youtube. Speak for yourself. This movie relied way way too much on source material without explanation.
mr. Wldasoldmysoul4pussyasateen 1. Are you aware of robin and batman? 2. Are you aware of joker? 3. What was the first thing that came to your mind when you saw a suit that didnt resemble batmans? 4. What do you think the film maker is trying to convey by having "jokes on you batman" written on it? Do you even logic bro?
Jonathan Collinson I actually always think this is about him not being able to draw a line between Bruce Wayne and Batman. Like he's completely torn in between both and not able to differentiate any more. That's what that look is. I absolutely loved this movie. It really portrayed at times that Bruce Wayne is the disguise and Batman is who he truly is
listen again to his conversation with alfred. alfred insists on being bruce wayne to get info off of luthor. which means he can't be batman for the night, and that upsets him. batman is after all, his true self. that's how I look at it though 🤷
That shot, in the very first teaser, was what actually made me rethink my initial hesitation about Batfleck. With that one look he just nails it, looking at that batsuit with pure rage. Like a junkie staring at a needle or an alcoholic at a bottle, Bruce hates that suit, he's cursed by it, but it's his whole life and he's nothing without it. He will never have a normal life. In a sense, Bruce Wayne died in that alleyway with his parents. He descended into an abyss where the bat was waiting for him (just as we see in the beginning of the film) and even by being Batman and fighting evil for 20 years, he will never get out - he even says "in the dream they took me to the light - a beautiful lie."
And i don't think someone will come close to the physique Affleck has had, it's clear that the new version with Pattinson will take a different direction, and that's okay, every director must give his personal view of a character and every version MUST BE DIFFERENT. That said, i am really excited to see Batfleck again, even tho its such a shame that we never get to explore his "Bat-Verse", cuz there were a lot of things to see: villains, gotham, bat-family, catwoman etc.etc. And to all the idiots who criticise Robert Pattinson, just stop, i'm serious, choose another actor, in all those years (AFTER Twilight), he has worked with great directors and has done incredible indipendent films (even some real masterpieces) giving incredible performances, he's a great actor and i personally liked him as a "Batman Year 2" who is not so physically big (cuz he is at the beginning, of course), so i think he and the movie will be awesome!!!
I wish we could have scene a film with Ben as Batman and someone else as robin before this movie. Make Batman more happy because robin is light hearted but then his death absolutely transforms bats to what he is.
what I find interesting is that Man of Steel cinematographer Amir Mokhri has worked on most of the Transformers movies over the years, along with some major blockbusters. Larry Fong from BvS of course is Zack Snyder's long time collaborator, he's worked on 300, Watchmen among others. Fabian Wagner from Justice League has worked in Game of Thrones if I'm not mistaken. if there's one cinematographer I'd love to see on a Batman movie, it would be Newton Thomas-Sigel. his work on Superman Returns (as with most movies he shoots) just looks fantastic, top notch, almost like his frames are bathed in gold. I'd imagine a Kingdom Come movie with him as the cinematographer (and Snyder at the helm).
@Podcast - SørenCast Z Wally Pfister's cinematography for The Dark Knight trilogy was of course excellent as well. I do wish Hoyte Van Hoytema had gotten a chance to work on at least one of those movies; but he began collaborating with Nolan since Interstellar.
I don’t why but JUST THAT intro scene of Bruce Wayne (Ben Affleck) waking up, having those pills, drinking, that random woman on the bed, the whole environment and that background score, just gets me into tears and I start feeling emotional to realise what he has been through. The losses suffered and the death of his parents. He’s alone, the whole way in which it’s made is really touching
It's interesting to speculate about what this Batman has been through and I believe it's just a random woman because I believe it was mentioned that Bruce and Selena wants married and they divorced I think Snyder had mentioned that
@@Dimmary actually it's worst because the robin was Dick Grayson is it was Jason Todd at least he would know that Dick is alive somewhere but now he has no one
The dialogue is great. The acting and the camera work are great. The soundtrack is great. The costume and set designing is great. This is a criminally underrated masterpiece. This movie isnt perfect, but it has perfect moments. I love it. It was misunderstood. But I hope that, in time, history regards it as a cult classic, in the vein of Blade Runner (just as badly received at first, but undisputedly praised until today).
There was something definitely different about this movie. Something dark and deep. I felt that it focused on the challenges of the characters, as themselves and as superheroes.
exactly what I've been thinking all these years. this one will go down as a cult classic. but, seeing as how the Snyder Cut is back in action, maybe we haven't seen the end of it just yet. hopefully
1:59 this scene gives me chills every single time. Jason's death is yet another reminder of how ruthless criminals can be, and how there must be someone, or something, that scares them. This movie is not perfect, but damn it has its moments.
There is a very subtle and underlying theme in this scene that hasn't been talked of. It's clear that Alfred monitors Bruce's use of the BatSuit, almost like holding the keys to it. Bruce seems to make an argument about needing the suit, sounding almost like a request. Perhaps Alfred has decided that he needs to make sure his aging protegé doesn't overuse the alter ego, for his own protection...
Or maybe Alfred was making adjustments to the suit and Bruce was simply telling he that he needed it to be ready. It's clear Alfred in this movie was his mechanic/engineer and used to maintain all his gear. There's a scene in the beginning where Alfred was explaining something about how a new layer of armor was hindering the performance of the suit's microphone.
I came looking for THIS comment, lest I write it myself. "I'm gonna need to put a leech in his house...and I'm gonna need the suit" shifts the power dynamic every time I watch this scene. There is no master/servant here, but rather an acute understanding. They both know the consequences of using such a powerful, often cruel symbol --too much--.
Overall, the movie missed the mark for most people, I get that. But I can say confidently that THIS interpretation of Bruce Wayne/Batman and Alfred are easily the best live action versions thus far. Again, to be clear, im not talking about the movie and the quality of it. Im talking about this portrayal of Batman which to me is absolutely perfect. The mannerisms, the nuances of Afflecks version is just... 👍🏼. The man is just walking rage, waiting to burst. Never really got that vibe from Christian Bale while also a great Batman, but for me, never really reminded me of the Batman I grew up reading. Afflecks did.
Bales portrayal was very angry as well, they just hid it more after Batman Begins. I guess realistically, being a vigilante would put you through different stages of emotions over the years. You'd start off super pissed, eventually calm down and learn to channel that rage more productively, and then with a long time of fighting crime under your belt, you'd become like this Bruce Wayne; Bitter and dissapointed with the results. Either way, I love both Bale and Affleck. I doubt anyone will top them.
Too bad this Batman/Bruce isn't really smart. I like how Batfleck looks visually, including his batcave and what not, but he is seriously not very smart.
It was a great idea with poor writing and some really bad casting. Having someone polish off the script because Snyder can't write for shit would have made it way better even despite that clown Jesse Eisenberg (or Gal's terrible acting, sorry simp virgins)
Nah, he meant like the voice of Kevin Conroy, even though yes Keaton portrayed Batman in the past. Conroy's voice is just fucking magnificent. I cannot imagine an animated Batman without Conroy.
+deka W Fuck no , Arkham Verse is literally the real Batman , which is why they choose Conroy to voice him , Keaton's Batman was just Burton's view of him , not bad at the time but not even close to the comics. Ben is much closer to Arkhamverse.
Let's be real, the shots of Ben Affleck staring at the bat suit for ten seconds and then staring at robins suit was shot solely for the trailers. That's all. God I don't like Zack Snyder: as a film maker
Let's be real, the shots of Ben Affleck staring at the bat suit for ten seconds and then staring at robins suit was shot solely for the trailers. That's all. God I don't like Zack Snyder: as a film maker
Tamerlane (Timur) Yes, a masterpiece of terribly boring storytelling and unintentional hilarity when it tries to be broodingly mature and intelligent, which BvS isn't.
I love how this scene portrays an aging Bruce Wayne dealing with the repercussions of being The Batman. You can tell from the dream of Bruce walking towards his parent’s graves and the vision of a massive grotesque bat creature that he has allowed what was originally supposed to be a crusade to honor his parents and what they stood for to become a descent into darkness. And he has become the monster that he always swore to stand against. Which is what makes the Martha scene so important, because Bruce has allowed the darkness to consume him, he has allowed his crusade and his vendetta to become his only existing ideology that nothing can stop him. Which is why when he hears Superman crying out for Bruce to save his mother, he realizes that he has not only allowed his rage and anger almost break him, he realized he was going to let an innocent life die, and he didn’t do anything to stop it. He had lost his reason for being Batman and was about to become a killer. And I think when Bruce rampaged through the warehouse, every punch, every kick was an extension of his refined purpose of standing tall in front of criminals and reminding them who and what he is.
Exactly, people don't see the depth and symbolism in this film. They expected everything to be spoonfed to them like in other movies. You actually have to think about it to understand it completely, and once you do, it's an incredible film.
@Medidas Yeah true, I agree. I think the Ultimate Edition filled in some of the holes and showed that Bruce was suffering from PTSD from his Parents' and Robin's deaths. Such as the nightmare scene with the bat and him taking pills to numb the pain. But yeah it is still hard to connect it with his cruel behavior unless you watch it multiple times which not everyone has the patience for. I think this movie had too much going on so some of the side plots could've been cut out.
@Michael Elam Completely agree. In his actions, he felt with each strike was redemption for not being strong enough to save his mother. In his actions of rampaging through that warehouse, he was honoring the promise to his parents, to be the dark avenger of Gotham.
I like how Bruce gives Alfred Coffee. Good display of respect and admiration that Bruce has for Alfred. It’s such a subtle way to display said respect, but it works. No matter how powerful Bruce becomes he knows that Alfred is at his core. Bruce almost doesn’t even see Alfred as his butler more so as a father and even as a sidekick even. His equal possibly.
can anyone just please admire the music/score of this movie and the GORGEOUS cinematography specially at the beginning when he is at bed with that random woman. Also love Jeremy irons and ben Affleck performances in this movie
This handful of scenes reveals that Ben had a level of understanding of the character unlike any actor to play him. Bruce already had, and lost, a Robin, informing the character’s jaded, cynical worldview. He *is* Frank Miller’s Bat.
I really loved this scene and how it shows that he's Batman and Bruce is the mask. He's just staring at the suit knowing he can't really use it at the moment and then looking at Robins just speaking volumes that something horrible happened.
actually its been confirmed already that it is indeed jason todd, it was in the warner bros dc museum thing where they held the suit and they said it was jason todd killed by the joker
Mixing prescriptions and alcohol can be lethal. It's as if Bruce wants to die already but can't since his body is a self made defense mechanism. His body has a lot of antibodies to fight against a lot of toxins. It's like that scene from the first Captain America movie. Where Steve tries his best to get drunk but can't because his post SS body won't let him.
I keep coming back to this scene because of what's implied rather than said. I liked Christian Bale as Batman, but when it comes to showing the side of Batman/Bruce Wayne that was haunted and driven, he couldn't pull it off as well as Affleck did. Even Michael Keaton had his moments where he did a great job showing the dark and brooding character that was driven by his past, but Affleck had that look of obsession that made you feel it, like he had no choice.
I don’t think anyone will ever surpass this batman in this movie. Yes the Movie is weird but the batman Bruce Wayne scenes are absolut perfection. I still use it for my daily motivation, ain’t gonna lie
Hands down, the best batman ever ! The way he stares at the batsuit 🔥 The most comical accurate , brutal , dark batman ever ! Sad , still some people will give an edge to bale and Pattinson 🤦♂️
I think bringing on Matt Reeves to direct the film was the final nail in the coffin since he was soooooo fixed on the version and movie that he wanted to make. And irrespective of how much I liked his Batman, I will always hate him for not being able to see the DeathStroke/Batman face off Ben had planned.
I love the fact Wayne talks about the suit like it's a person, and it sounds like he is asking Alfred's permission/blessing to take it. Love this film!
Anyone who didn't want to see toned, rippling Ben Affleck ass is a blind coward and would not have called that scene unnecessary if it was a woman and we all know it. Besides we already saw Lois in a bath scene coping with her trauma and showcasing her relationship with Kal, try to see what Bruce Wayne's shower tells you about him and his mental state as he prepares for a social outing in the same way he prepares for a mission, how dark and boxed in the chamber is.
Uh, i'm a straight man and never asked to see Lois in a bathtub scene. Maybe wonder woman.... but def not Lois. Either give me legit wank material or leave it out altogether.
Meerim Kut People theorize that it's dark from when the Wayne Manor burned down. That when The Joker killed him, he was in the manor when it was burning.
We just dont deserve Ben Affleck.People are gonna rave about Christian Bale. But lets be honest Christian Bale is a good actor while Ben Affleck will always be the gold standard for playing the dark knight.
The cinematography in this movie beats every mcu movie. Every frame feels like a perfect picture. Really helps to make the movie seem kind of like a comic book. Each camera shot tells its own story, even when sometimes there’s no dialogue.
Man this guy affleck made a perfect Batman and Bruce Wayne . Love how we woke up a true drunk billionaire play boy, then Bruce & Alfred’s chemistry and then the way he stairs at the bat suit with anger and regret .
There is one thing I like best in Zack Snyder's films and it is not the beautiful cinematography. It is the non-verbal scenes. When the characters almost say nothing but they tell you everythings. Like this scene when Bruce stares at a bat suit. We can see the pain, anger, obsession in him. Then we see robin's suit with the words written by the Joker as a answer to Bruce's anger and pain. It's a answer to why he is so obsession with fighting crime and why he need to be Batman. We see the Wayne mansion being destroyed as a symbol of how damage Bruce wayne are. Just one short scene and we get to know alot about this characters. They said that Zack Snyder don't know how to tell a story, i think diffrent. I think he just have a diffrent way to tell a story and not many people appreciate it.
I think this approach worked well with Affleck as Batman in just the way you describe here but I think it was overused with Cavill as Superman. Cavill was pretty wooden and bland for most of this movie, seemingly clinically depressed, and it made the movie drag. I think Affleck pulls it off well though.
@@martin..3700 It had to do with EVERYTHING you ignorant mister People were just attacking zack online because they don’t like his movies and his daughter was so depressed because of that and then committed suicide
I hope the rumors aren't true. I hope Ben Affleck doesn't step away as Batman. I didn't think he could pull it off when he excepted the role but so far he's done a great job. He IS Batman.
Green eyed Monster There were problems with the movie, but it wasn't (in my opinion) the actors. No great fan of Affleck, but he is good in this. Incidentally, if you haven't seen The Accountant, check it out. Affleck is good in this, too.
I absolutely loved Ben Affleck as Batman I don’t care what anyone says, there were some flaws but his character development in this movie and the justice league(Snyder cut) movie proves he deserves his own movie. He was the most comic book accurate version in terms of Size, demeanor, dark personality, brute strength and unstoppable will power and MMA fighting style. The best Batman since Michael Keaton hands down!!!!!
1:59 I'm getting the absolute chills from this scene. I really hope we get an Under The Red Hood movie, it would look fantastic in a cinematic depiction!
1:42 I really loved this scene. The bat suit and Bruce Wayne’s facial expressions and robins suits. We have to get under the red hood live action movie
Didn’t like the movie but dang Ben Affleck’s Batman was goated. He was Arkham Batman and aside from him disregarding the iconic no-kill rule, I think he was a perfect iteration of the character
He stares at the Bat to remind himself of this capability. Just beside te bat, he has a dead Robin's suit. To remember his mistakes and not to get carried away. To stay grounded. Amazing.
I loved this movie. It showed who batman actually was, If you don't know then here this. Batman actually killed purposefully in the #1 detective comic and that's what Zack showed here.
Him killing i had no problem with the branding of criminals was awesome cuz it showed how badly Jason todds death has affected him to such a point that Batman has now sunk to using guns, branding and killing people . I know at the end of the movie he has reverted back to his old ways of dealing with criminals imo I would have liked him to carry on his branding of criminals because it showed what happens when you try to mess with Batman but it was awesome seeing a bruce wayne who has been damaged and mentally broken by his experiences as Batman.
Renee Peck Well he starts killing because it showed that went through harsh things. Robin's dead and the battle of Metropolis is the evidence. But Superman's death inspired him to became a superhero back.
Renee Peck the first two years of batman as a character when he was created and the dark knight return. Affleck's interpretation of the character is the most accurate interpretation ever if you actually know batman's lore in the comic books.
This is some brilliant visual storytelling tbh. The fact that Zack is portraying the history and bond they have without the characters going off on a monologue....Like just look at Bruce giving Alfred a cup of coffee and..almost asking permission to use the suit? And the fact that they talk about Bruce and The Bat as being two separate entities. Wow. This movie(Ultimate Cut of course) wasn't ahead of it's time. But it did require a couple of rewatches to fully understand the depth the characters and the story have.
Bruce looks at the suit and thinks, "Ahh, this would be SO much easier if I put on the bat suit and break in Lex's mansion... But no, I have to go out and... socialize..."
I'm really looking forward to The Batman with Robert Pattinson but I still wonder how epic Ben Affleck's solo Batman movie would have been. To me, Ben was a fantastic casting for Bruce Wayne and Batman and it's a shame he never got a proper chance to do it due to all the drama at Warner Bros. during that time. Anyway, I can't wait to see Ben's final movie in the role with the upcoming Flash movie. I hope it will be a fitting send-off for his Batman/Bruce Wayne.
1:30 the lesson to walk away with with batfleck and battinson. Batman has to fight his way in, Bruce Wayne gets the door opened for him with a hello. Two sides of the same coin that save the day.
Ben has this way he carries himself that's so fitting as Bruce Wayne. It's like he's not even trying. He doesn't need dialogue. Just the way he stands there is so classy and perfect.
I love how for a moment there Bruce was asking permission from Alfred to use the suit when he said "I'm gonna need the suit", that's how you know Alfred is a father figure to Bruce and the keeper of the bat.
This Batman needed his own movie like this.

@@burakhannarlioglu1663 1st, I believe you are wrong for quality of movies. The MCU is a masterpiece. That said, this movie wasn't a masterpiece, just the individual scenes.

@@ZAXN It was exactly what I've said
I always thought Batman had 3 faces- Batman, The Billionaire Playboy Bruce Wayne, and the real Bruce Wayne- the person only Alfred and other close associates see- the real person.

They'll never find just as perfect looking bruce wayne as Affleck

Ben Affleck was good as Batman in this movie. Something about Justice League made me like his batman a lot less though. Idk maybe just all the jokes he made. Maybe just all the comedy cues he had where he said something awkward instead of the other guy.

The way Bruce is staring at the batsuit is like an alcoholic staring at a beer. It also further emphasizes that Bruce Wayne is the mask and Batman is his TRUE SELF. This film nails that perfectly

If only Batfleck still kept his ideals not to kill people, he would've been the most believable as Batman for me
That shot, in the very first teaser, was what actually made me rethink my initial hesitation about Batfleck.
When it comes to as authentic a portrayal of the physicality of the Batman as depicted in the comics, no one, and I mean NO ONE comes close to Affleck
No one YET.
@@Beraksekebon21 Pattinson have the pysique of an early Robin..... nothing to say about the acting

@greasepitofshame The writing is great!
@greasepitofshame Well, everyone's got an own opinion.🤷♂️
what I find interesting is that Man of Steel cinematographer Amir Mokhri has worked on most of the Transformers movies over the years, along with some major blockbusters.
Not to mention the death of Robin (Jason Todd)

That's basically this entire scene 😂
There is a very subtle and underlying theme in this scene that hasn't been talked of. It's clear that Alfred monitors Bruce's use of the BatSuit, almost like holding the keys to it. Bruce seems to make an argument about needing the suit, sounding almost like a request. Perhaps Alfred has decided that he needs to make sure his aging protegé doesn't overuse the alter ego, for his own protection...
I was literally thinking this exact thing
and doesn't lose his last remaining link to being human in the true sense 😍😍
That's a great analysis mann

Except the 10-11 dudes he murdered in that warehouse. That should NEVER happen.

The dripping grey undertones, the cynical, brutal dialogue and the dark, depressing music. Truly a masterpiece of a movie.
How is his body a self defense mechanism? He didn't take a supersoldier serum like Steve

I keep coming back to this scene because of what's implied rather than said. I liked Christian Bale as Batman, but when it comes to showing the side of Batman/Bruce Wayne that was haunted and driven, he couldn't pull it off as well as Affleck did. But he also the one we need
We just dont deserve Ben Affleck.People are gonna rave about Christian Bale. But lets be honest Christian Bale is a good actor while Ben Affleck will always be the gold standard for playing the dark knight.
True.....lets hope robbert pattinson is close to this.
Correct ✔
@@youngspecial64 hey wassup dude
@@cbmjoe06 hows it going😄
100% True real Facts
The way he stares at the suit that's BATMAN . Affleck nailed this scene.
This is perfection. Long live Batfleck.
Confirmed, No Damian Wayne in the DCEU. 0:45
Casanova Frankenstein that makes him a shit detective amirite or amirite m8
They confirmed that Ra's and Talia are not gonna be i the DCEU so yeah, no Damian, besides this bruce is inspired from TDKR who didnt have a son
Javier Lopez what
Javier Lopez proof link me that right now.
Isaac Acevedo thank God
It’s such a tragedy he never got his own standalone film. Ben was, and will always be *the perfect* Batman
He had the coolest Batcave but I think bale was the best batman
The cinematography in this movie beats every mcu movie. Every frame feels like a perfect picture. Really helps to make the movie seem kind of like a comic book. Each camera shot tells its own story, even when sometimes there’s no dialogue.
I really don’t get why people feel the need to bash on another franchise just because they like one movie cinematography better.
Man this guy affleck made a perfect Batman and Bruce Wayne . Love how we woke up a true drunk billionaire play boy, then Bruce & Alfred’s chemistry and then the way he stairs at the bat suit with anger and regret .
This is the real Batman atmosphere
If most people were thinking like you we would’ve got a better Justice league and Snyder’s daughter could’ve been alive right now
@@Mohamad-m7md Thank you for your comment. What happened to zack snyder daughter was sad. Best wish for her and her family.
I think this approach worked well with Affleck as Batman in just the way you describe here but I think it was overused with Cavill as Superman. Cavill was pretty wooden and bland for most of this movie, seemingly clinically depressed, and it made the movie drag. I think Affleck pulls it off well though.
@@Mohamad-m7md lol wtf did Zacks daughter have to do with how people viewed the movies 🤦🏼♂️
@@martin..3700
It had to do with EVERYTHING you ignorant mister
People were just attacking zack online because they don’t like his movies and his daughter was so depressed because of that and then committed suicide
I hope the rumors aren't true. I hope Ben Affleck doesn't step away as Batman. I didn't think he could pull it off when he excepted the role but so far he's done a great job. He IS Batman.
the divorce prepared him well to play batman
jericho turbo jones lol
Green eyed Monster There were problems with the movie, but it wasn't (in my opinion) the actors. No great fan of Affleck, but he is good in this. Incidentally, if you haven't seen The Accountant, check it out. Affleck is good in this, too.
I just hope he'll still play Batman's older version
Bruh. :(
I absolutely loved Ben Affleck as Batman I don’t care what anyone says, there were some flaws but his character development in this movie and the justice league(Snyder cut) movie proves he deserves his own movie. He was the most comic book accurate version in terms of Size, demeanor, dark personality, brute strength and unstoppable will power and MMA fighting style. The best Batman since Michael Keaton hands down!!!!!
Best on-screen "Bruce Wayne" of all time!
loooooooooooool
@@toniobroly6462 He is. Quit hating
01:40 ben actually appears to be affected mentally by all the shit batman's gone through
Ben afleck is by far the most stylish bruce wayne
criminally underrated batman.
Im on a binge of bvs clips
i cant stop...
In time the world will recognize how painful it is to not have at least one solo movie for Ben Affleck's Batman
Blame WB for rushing the project without giving all JL members appropriate solo introduction movies
Facts bro
Has Bruce Wayne / Batman ever been so perfectly cast ,this performance was amazing.
Love the chemistry between Irons and Affleck.
Just like the animated tv series and comics.
This film has something that mcu lacks..
Atmosphere
FINALLY!! someone gets it.
The chilly music, the dark and brooding tone, the grim nature of characters, it's a perfectly built atmosphere.
I don't like much this film because of dark tone and depress characters...
@@lucasrodrigo4178 hm it's almost like that's what was intended 💀
@@lucasrodrigo4178 anyway that is your choice and as long as you don't make people feel bad about liking it there is no prob 👍
1:59 I'm getting the absolute chills from this scene. I really hope we get an Under The Red Hood movie, it would look fantastic in a cinematic depiction!
I love how Bruce starring at batsuit like "Why can I dress in thus for Luthor house party"
1:42 I really loved this scene. The bat suit and Bruce Wayne’s facial expressions and robins suits. We have to get under the red hood live action movie
Love how he looks at the suit.. Staring and Silent.
Didn’t like the movie but dang Ben Affleck’s Batman was goated. He was Arkham Batman and aside from him disregarding the iconic no-kill rule, I think he was a perfect iteration of the character
Love or hate this movie, but this movie is straight up Dark Knight Returns live action.
He stares at the Bat to remind himself of this capability.
Just beside te bat, he has a dead Robin's suit. To remember his mistakes and not to get carried away. To stay grounded.
Amazing.
great dialouge
This version of Alfred is the most condescending and sarcastic.
And still wise.
The most serious Batman Bruce Wayne yet afflick kills it
I loved this movie.
Renee Peck
It’s actually #27 detective comics
@@mtnicke5279 Oh you mean the lore that's been rewritten in so many ways that there isn't one certain canon to the character? Yeah for sure.
0:52 that's Mr.Wayne's look!
Love the way Bruce was starring at the batsuit very psychotic love it
Just pure anger in his eyes.
1:30 the lesson to walk away with with batfleck and battinson. Batman has to fight his way in, Bruce Wayne gets the door opened for him with a hello. Two sides of the same coin that save the day.
GOAT Bruce and Alfred. I love how cheeky this Alfred is. Their banter is the best I've seen in any Batman movie.
1:40 IVE Replayed this scene far too many times, just too good man makes me feel like a god
Bale wasn’t even close to Affleck. Ben was born to play Batman. He’s literally Bruce.
