Clark has accepted the life style of "I'm getting too old for this shit"
You know superman is immortal right? (Assuming the sun is always there)
@@ICT_Midnight Not without his powers he isn't.
@@KryptoKnightmarewhich was bullshit. How can superman just give up his powers? They pulled it out of their asses. Besides, its not even cannon. This scene isnt consistent with smallville
@@ICT_Midnight there are dozens of magic and non possible characters in dc that superman knows, maybe he asked mr mxzyptlk who knows but in dc its definitly possible
It's very consistent with Smallville, Blue Kryptonite can allow him to live as a normal human.
Tom welling is the only character in this show that gives off that presence that hes the only guy you need to beat anyone. The rest are just supporting characters. That's how powerful his clark Kent was.
To be honest, that was Brandon Routh Superman today man. What a masterful take on the iconic Christopher Reeves character.
He's the best actor of them anyway.
Every line from the other "heroes" makes me cringe.
The Blessed Bong he did share scenes with reeves on Smallville
The Blessed Bong Nah man even over Chris Reeves, I think Tom was the best actor to ever play Clark Kent/Superman, you can hate idc but I’m just stating the facts, Tom, Erica and Michael were the best Superman, Lois and Lex we will ever get on screen
lol. no. he was slow in the head as heck as clark kent. no wonder he gave up his powers. right by her side is where he belonged.
That’s when Alex realized even without his powers, Clark is a 6’3” former football quarterback from Kansas
He's 6'5" actually; 😁 And John Schneider was 6'4". Couple of big boys right there!
Alex?

@@malfaroangel3896 lex is short for alexander
@@PhysicalMediaPreventsWea-bx1zm tom welling is 6'3". And superman is 6'4"
'You're not Lex' - I just love this line, because he's nothing compared to the actual Lex from Smallville
Yeah, if Rosenlex had been the big antagonist of this portion of Crisis On Infinite Earths, the heroes would have been in a lot more trouble.
Especially since Jon Cryer had previously played Lex's nephew Lenny in Superman 4.
he IS Lex Luthor, as all the other Lex Luthors from SUPERBOY, Lois & Clark, the new adventures..... exist as well. it is what it is. he's just from a further away timeline. in the infinite universe/multiverse of ever fluctuating energy, our energies and our appearance will vary.
BTW i agree with you. Rosenbaum was the most powerful Lex Luthor ever.
@@blackjac5000 i remember that too. i like the concept of 'nuclear man'.
I like to think it was the facial hair that threw him off.
Lex still with his obsession
Clark like “I don’t even think of you”
Jose Rios that’s like how joker felt with Batman in LEGO Batman!
Clark lives in his head, rent free
@@MagicianFlip69 SPOOONIE
Lex: You will
@Paul Jakens Literally, EVERY tweet, Every DAY!! lmao 🙃😫😒
Clark: "You are not Lex"
Lex: "Of course not...I´m Alan Harper"
Armando Vargas litteraly all i see when he’s in a scene
I knew I have seen that particular face before. Especially the eyes
Hahahahaha
Armando Vargas to us older people, he is Ducky. He grew up to have a shitty marriage, gets divorced, lives with his brother, goes bald, and becomes a crappy version of Lex. I was hoping we would get Smallville Lex. Oh well.
Kkkkk sim é Alan
"Can't say I've missed these chats." A great line that fits in perfectly with the Smallville style.
For me it’s the dismissive “so whaddya want”
Oh its make sense that, he is Cain 😂
I wonder what a "flying tin can in the sky" refers to.....
I'll always love how Clark decided to give up his powers for a family. This version of Clark always wanted to be normal, to have a normal life and he got that. He got to have a family and got to be happy. It makes my heart whole.
Well yeh but only for some time bc after lois dies he will prob regain his powers bc legion said that clark was alive in their future so yeh
@@arkphoenixX If he lost it via gold kryptonite like it's implied at times then he ain't getting it back.
Blue would be temporary but then again I don't think either of them wanted their kids to inherit Kryptonian powers.
And there's always Connor after all to continue the name.
Nah its super out of character. His entire 10 year arc was learning that giving up his powers was wrong and he can be both himself and a hero.
@@na5567 uh no his entire show arc was taking the reigns of his destiny and embracing it rather than run away from it.
As he said to Lex " My destiny wasn't yours to take" he finally accepted his destiny and eventual future.
But him wanting to be normal was always there and was always a part of him which set him apart from most depictions of Superman.
Most of them fully embraced their eventual fate without much resistance.
Smallville Clark instead fought it tooth and nail until the very end.
And even then he never gave up on being normal just accepted that he was destined for great things and had to act on them rather than runaway from them.
@@MichaelLeahcim1128 him learning to fly was predicated on accepting his heritage as a kryptonian and accepting Jar El instead of running from it and wishing to be human. That's literally a core theme of the show, hence why there's a narrative punishment for every time he chooses to give up his abilities.
The one superman who got the ending he wanted.
Paul Symonds A well deserved one as well
yes
Didn’t he want to spend his life with Lana and not Lois?
@@fernathebest414 Lana is always his first. Lois is his last.
Yeah but lana went off on her own never to be seen or heard from again on smallville, which I didn't want to happen cause that was it from her.
“You’re not Lex.” He single handily ended him with three words. Those three words are equivalent to T’Challa’s “I don’t care.”
More so, I think he did know that he was a version of Lex, but saying ''You're not Lex" is almost an insult to his ego.
we don't do that here
In 3 words he was able to take down Lex's ego, tell him you're not a threat to me and that he could be so much more if he stopped trying to take over the world and just help people
"You're no Lex Luthor." Is basically what he meant.
Daniel C And that’s on Thanos’s second attempt at the decimation.
3:08 Must have been so satisfying for Clark after all those years holding back. He put 100% into that left hook for Lex.
I am pretty sure even for a normal Clark this wasn't 100%. Guy is built like a tank, a full power punch would knock this scrawny Lex to perma sleep.
And it must have been super embarrassing for Lex this Clark had no powers whatsoever and he STILL couldn't beat him!
What i love about this is that whenever we see future versions of Superman hes always still fighting a never-ending battle, so seeing one whos battle is over and can retire with the life he wanted is refreshing
Well, I suppose there are like a hundred other heroes on Earth-167 keeping it safe in Clark’s retirement.
Semi retire. The legion said he’s still active hundreds of years into the future and helped alien races be accepted on earth. So he probably retired until Lois died of old age
@@derangedking117 I was thinking the same thing. He probably ages with her, raises his kids, and has a normal life. Head-cannon: When Lois is about to die, she tells "Smallville" that he was her hero every day, but he can't save her from this, but to never stop saving people. She convinces him to go back to the fortress and regain his powers. He does so, and we get a new 3 season show called "Man of Tomorrow" where Clark finds his way through the years as Superman. Forming and founding the legion, working with the reformed Braniac (as seen in the high-school reunion episode) and wresting with continued life without Lois. Maybe some time travel episodes here and there?
@@calebb8355 would love to see that series
Even if you recall the show... he lost and regained his powers like a dozen times. Him losing his powers to raise some kids and that period being the perfect time to save him from certain doom is just a couple episode arc in the smallville universe.
"You gave up your powers?"
"Can't say I missed these chats"
clark and lex (from this universe) definitely had this argument before
Pretty sure theyre best friends in this version
FumeKing lmao!!!
It's very plausible. Smallville Lex kept trying to do good. Or do bad things to protect the greater good.
@@fumeking701 they were, untel Lex got mad at Clark for not trusting him with his secret, then lost his memories in the finale....hope they reconnected after Clark gave up his powers...Fun fact though - Tom and Michael are good friends off-screen!
Of course Superman and The Flash are friends!
Is no one else talking about the fact that Tom Welling is still built like *A GODDAMN BRICK*
I mean he was Cain in Lucifer just before this which required him to stay super built
I loved him in that role
He may not be superman, but he can easily bench 315

@@COMEDYSPREAD- Yes Lana Lang is the Best Love story
@@COMEDYSPREAD- is there an actual Earth where Clark does end up with Lana in the comics?
“Sounds like a job for…. us” is a great way to encapsulate his transformation. It takes the single most iconic one liner for Superman and turns it on its head. It’s a great line to end this scene with
"Somebody saaaaaaaaaaaaave meee"
They should've put that on the intro.
they did that on a supergirl episode last year i think
We already did it.. check it out :)
😍
just like they did last crossover. elseworlds.
No, that God awful song should never be used again.
I love how Lex is all "prepare to die, my old nemesis!" while Clark treats him like a door-to-door salesman he's slowly losing his patience with.

"You're not Lex" says everyone who grew up with Smallville.
Yeah that's Ducky from Pretty In Pink.
Luthors reaction to clark just taking krytonite and it not affecting him was hilarious 😂
It probably wouldn't have affected him even if he still had his powers, since Kryptonite only affects Kryptonians from the same universe as it. Although I guess Lex could have found some from this Clark's universe.
“Don’t be mad we only saw him for one scene, Be happy we got to see him again.”
Doesn't excuse mediocrity, there was no arc. Just one scene in which he talks to some dude, throws a rock, and walks off with wife.
Thomas Paxton Exactly. That’s what they call a “cameo”, which is all he ever was gonna be.
@@BlueHedgehog956 should have been a scene in the last chapter if that's all they are gonna do. They'll just blow up that planet anyway undoing what they just did. Idiots.

@@normansmith9009 Sure, but he was tricked a couple of times on his series and Iris, Lois and new Clark didn't show any proof (the breach device, new Clark's powers etc.)
This was one of the best scenes from the whole big crossover event. Not just because we get to see what became of Clark and Lois after Smallville's run ended, but also because it was well written and a welcome surprise.
"Can't say I miss these chats."
Big hint that a LOT of people in the Smallville universe didn't want him to give up his powers.
Interesting.
"The girls made a mess."
In most universes, he has a son (or sons), but in this one he has daughters.

If you look closely, Clark looks like he's aged. He's several years older here than he was in the Smallville comic book. This bit of Smallville could have taken place well after the comic book finished its run, after Lois and Clark finally got married.
@@jimgilbert9984 Then the league would have been around and Clark would have contracted them and told them about the situation.

@Paul WT that not exactly how smallville was about
Some kind of point.
@Paul WT You do know that this isn't the first time Superman gave up his powers for Lois right? He did the exact same thing in Superman 2 back in the 1980's. Also his powers are not truly gone, they are only being supressed by krypotonian technology. He could get his powers back with a long flight to the artic. I get your point though but regardless of the intentions of the creator to form an all girls pro women leftist agenda, the end result still falls well in line with cannon.

The CW visited Michael, but he rejected this option, because CW kept secrets about the plan and the script.
@@robyskye not to mention they approached him at the worst time. He was with his grandfather, who just passed away this Thanksgiving, and Michael has always let people know he wanted to spend as much time with his grandfather as possible. They gave him no times, no locations, etc. From the sound of it, it seems like they basically just said "Hey we won't tell you any details we just need a yes or no that you'll do it". Yeah, i know, true, he said this answer. I like him, he was a great Lex Luthor. I remember when he left the series, because he would like to try something different and he came back for the finale. It was amazing
Michael Rosenbaum was the best Lex Luthor. He made the character compelling. In Smallville, I actually felt that Lex would have not been anything resembling a bad guy if Clark had been honest, and Jonathon hadn't ingrained fear into him.
As good of a character Tom Welling's Clark was... I would have sided with Lex. All he needed from Clark was the truth, but Smallville's Clark Kent was a pathological liar.

@@UltimateBallaPOM well, you can recall everytime he had blue kryptonite in smallville series...
I choose to believe this Clark Kent embraced being Superman ( as seen by the news articles on the wall), which also aligns with the season finale of Smallville where he learns to embrace his powers. We know this eventually leads to forming the Justice League. Maybe...just maybe....there are enough heroes in this Multiverse that Superman wasn't needed anymore. This is Clark's reward for a job well done. He embraced the cape, then hung up the cape, and passed the torch to other heroes that keep Earth-167 protected.
Also, if you look closely you'll see Clark's watch (Timestamp 3:58) has a Blue Kryptonite core inside. He can always regain his powers if he needs to come out of "retirement".
That's true
Good eye
I love how Tom Welling's Clark Kent is so much bigger than Tyler's Clark Kent. Its like a classic looking down on a new but not better version
This seemed like an incredibly "Smallville" thing to do--give up his powers and raise a family. And I liked it.
@nikto45 In the season 10 finale he becomes superman
@nikto45 He was Superman for several years at least until he eventually decided to give up his powers for his family. Throughout the show we know that family has always been first for clark before his powers or anything else. He always wanted the normal simple life as he stated numerous times throughout the show ans has given up his powers before one example would be season 5. It's a very fitting end to his character.
I don't think the smallville Clark would give up his powers. The whole show was about his coming to terms that his powers were necessary and not to be rejected.
@@moabman6803
I don't think he rejected them. I think he was Superman for many years, let's say a decade or two considering Clark was supposed to be about 25 when the show ended, and then he took off the mantle and put his trust, and the worlds safety, in his friends hands (The Justice League) so he could have a normal life. That actually sounds like a fitting end for Smallville and a well earned reward for Clark Kent.
No it didn't. The whole show was showing his journey on becoming superman and he just gives up his powers? Nah, that's just not right. That's complete horseshit.
Am I the only one who still wishes Smallville never ended 😭?
Dude, hand me the Kleenex. I haven't cried like a wimp until today... Just started watching Smallville 2 weeks ago and felt that all those 217 episodes could NEVER be enough...

I wanted to see more of smallville flash
Is that the actor who played in Smallville? Now I see the point of this crossover.
I can't help feeling disappointed. Smallville Clark went through all those trials to become worthy of being Superman, the symbol of hope for the world. Then he gives all that up for a family. He gets to be happy, but the world is deprived of its greatest champion. Christopher Reeve's Clark tried that, and learned how terrible the cost could be.
Tom Welling aged so well💯
I’m sorry, I just, I can’t express how much I love that he just casually caught Lex’s punch and near knocked him out and just kinda goes “still stronger”

Punched Lex and was like “I’m still stronger” LOL love it
Lol that was my favorite part of that

-Every true smallville fan: That's my superman
The people on this comments section who are saying that Superman never would have done that(give up his powers) are wrong(and besides, he's done it before, anyways, in the movies, comics and TV-albeit, not permanently). Maybe I was watching a different Smallville than the one they were watching because as I soon I saw this scene, I thought to myself that that is exactly what Clark would do. The simple, happy family life is the life he always wanted.
@@JR-ju3kj exactly
@@JR-ju3kj That's what clark would always wanted, and that is the most accurated conflict that superman would ever have. The fight between "What he want" vs "What he has to do". And this is where the cameo fails and destroy the already perfect Smallville's Universe. Superman, this superman, won't just do that 2 or 1 year after he declares himself as superman, not even 20 years after that. He has over his shoulders what Jonnathan Kent told him many times. "You're a symbol of hope. You're a symbol of justice. You've gotta get the hole world safe". This is not smallvile as they presented us for 10 years. But hey, according to you I'm not a true smallville fan...dope. C'mon man, people should stop saying things like that, and stop pretending that they're the only true fans and whoever doesn't think like themselves, are not true fans. I respectfully disagree with what you said. And if you like and enjoyed the cameo I'm very happy for you because I couldn't enjoy it, and not only that, it kind of ruined the ending of smallville for me.
If you're so selfish that you can't let Superman have children and retire in a world/multiverse full of heroes then I feel sorry for you, no man no matter how super should be a servant to an entire planet/multiverse forever, also to do all this without ever having sex or ejaculating without murdering someone, so yes he gave it up to finally be normal enough to raise/hold his children, I bet Lois wouldn't even feel safe or allow him to even touch his own kids with that type of power, let the man live in peace, obviously the planet was doing fine without him until this AntiMonitor crisis which I might add destroyed other Supermen in a blink of an eye so I don't think it would've mattered anyway, he was so over Superman shit when everyone showed up that he almost rolled his eyes like this shit again, I don't care about that anymore, go find Batman 😂😂😂
@@pancheeetee I agree, though I liked this cameo I was a major fan of Smallville and have rewatched it over and over as I own the complete series and watched every episode when it originally released. Clark already gave up his powers once and suffered major consequences. His number one priority was being able to save those closest to him, in fact... most of Smallville was saving those closest to Clark rather than random strangers. It's a real shame they ended Smallville with this cameo, yes it is wrapped up into a neat bow for Clark with having Lois and the family he has always wanted. He still could've had that, they literally mention in Smallville how Clark, after training with his father in his fortress, that he now has immense control over his powers to the point he doesn't hurt Lois or a baby. Why give up powers that could be used to protect those closest to him if that was what Smallville was basically built on. Even when Clark didn't have his powers, he was shot and killed only to regain his powers. That, along with the fact he couldn't save Lana / Jonathan was major teaching moments that Superman doesn't save everyone just because he has his powers, and that he has to actively make that choice to save people... which from being shot and killed, having his family and Lana be held hostage by Krypto Escapees, shows that he definitely makes that choice no matter what and wants to have the ability to save those around him. So my question is... what life changing and massive event led to him giving up his powers? It must have been something epic, a story not yet told in the Smallville universe and DC is obviously never going to tell it. Still love this actor for Clark, though the superman costume they chose for Smallville looked super weird on him. Definitely a different style needed for this actor imo.
PS: I liked the cameo because I love Smallville... hated that he didn't join Crisis and gave up his powers. Especially his reasoning without any background as to whether it was a choice between family and his powers in some way, because Smallville's lore snuffs out that argument without a massive villain to throw a wrench. Clark gave up his powers in Smallville and learned the lesson that he was meant to have them on several occasions. It was all part of his struggle through the series to accept himself for being a god among men and to let others have the chance to accept him as well.
My heart fluttered a bit when Lois called him Smallville.
@Heroes Never Quit amen, well said.
@Heroes Never Quit eh I think loving Lana and then getting over her helped Clark grow.
that’s a bit weird to continue to call him that while they literally live in smallville lmao
@@avatarlhamo3063 it's obvious you haven't seen the smallville tv series. lois lane there already called clark kent as "Smallville" as her nickname for him since season 4 of that series. she never stopped calling him that till the end of the series in season 10.

Erica Durance is still hands down the finest Lois Lane ever. Period.
Your not kidding bro, definitely handsdown. But what about Teri Hatcher from Lois and Clark series. She was not bad either.

How dumb was she? Hello, DUH! Clark Kent is Superman.
That was worth the whole trip, to meet the most galactically stupidest woman who ever lived. LOL!
Tempus made that scene.
I love Erica as Lois Lane!! She is perfect!! Strong, funny, sarcastic with Clark, great reporter and fighter, and of course beautiful!! And I love her with Tom Welling!! But in this crossover I kinda like a lot Bitchie too!! She is showing us some equally great moments with the also great, as Superman/Clark , Tyler!
I will always love the fact that no version of Lex Luthor could ever accept that a Clark Kent would just want a simple life, powers or no powers. This is the same brand of character that had a computer built specifically to figure Superman's secret identity, and then trashed it for being "worthless", because it told him it was Clark Kent, and he could mever accept that a super powerful being would settle for such a mundane identity.
damn i remeber reading that comic. It was in the John Byrne run, one of the first
It’s cause he wishes he could have that kind of power. The power to do basically anything and have the admiration of almost everyone, and he threw it all away for the life of a farmer and a father! Literal definition of a hater who hates.
Ù
This is the thing with Lex Luthor. He always thinks about power, and having more power. He can't envision someone disregarding power or not using it for whatever reason. I'm actually surprised he let this Clark go so easily even with the kryptonite test. This Supes could've found some kind of way to avoid being affected by Kryptonite. There's been stories like this in the comics actually. IMO in a "real" Luthor vs Clark encounter, Luthor would still have him killed. But of course nobody wanted that to happen in that scene lol.
@@TheFlamingPike Kinda disagree on that last notion. To Lex, a Superman who gives up his power is no longer Superman. What would be the point of killing him afterwards? It would be too easy for Lex, and he could never live with himself, if the only Superman he could ever kill, was one that didn't have powers. His own pride won't allow it.
It's so nice to see Clark Kent settled down with kids, with all the adventures he had i think this is great glimpse into the life of Smallville's Clark Kent after almost a decade of the end of Smallville

They still have that amazing chemistry 8yrs later 😍😭 Erica is gorgeous
The way he walks towards Lex with the axe and walks away is giving such Jonathan Kent vibes. Like, Tom's acting is seriously channeling Jonathan's whole subtly mad but polite energy.
Yo dont you think lex luthor looks a bit like andrew tate?😭😂
That's the whole idea. Jonathan was Clarks true hero so he has become him, right down to wearing his father's watch (which is not blue Kryptonite like some commenters are saying)
Tom Welling was the real Superman, I liked his return in Crisis on Infinite Earths
He treated that Kryptonite like just another rock man I’ve missed Smallville I’m glad he got this ending
VERT ROUGE963 no, this wasn’t enough. Smallville is still my favourite show. I hate this! I don’t even want to watch the rest of it anymore; if my Clark (Tom Welling) isn’t superman anymore I don’t care if the multiverse they’re in dies completely

It's kinda weird but we finally have a nice conclusion to Smallville. Married with Lois, two little girls, Clark acts like his father and he is just a farmer. Feels nice, not gonna lie.
And it will really feel nice when the anti-matte kills him ,Lois and his kids ! Clark apparently has gotten senile in his old age because the multiverse winking out of existence didn't register with him and apparently with all the fans who gushed and said "gee what a nice ending!" As for Lois, didn't the ace reporter notice the bald man with the big book steeping into a giant portal their barnyard ? Maybe she should have her eyes checked? Oh, wait she didn't need to since her and her whole universe got erased because Clark couldn't be bothered to try and save them. The fact that Tom Welling and Erica Durance and the show runners were ok with this ending shows that they really didn't give a sh*t about the fans .
