I love when an actor has to play an actor playing a whole another character. And they did it with Joker in the next movie. It even was emphasised when he's telling he has no plan, but then it's seen that he is rehearsing the speech he has prepared.
Not enough people give credit to Christian Bale's acting in the scene where he pretends to be drunk, and kicks out the people from his party, the fact that he is pretending to be absolute hammered, insults the guests, tells them to leave and buzz off for being phonies and moochers all in an effort to save them from the League of shadows whilst also not trying to expose himself as Batman is absolutely brilliant and on the spot genius for Bruce Wayne.

Then you have the matured humble philanthropist Bruce in his prime, Batfleck. christian bale is just next level when it comes to acting. the amount of effort he puts into it with his method acting and dedication is insane.. i think he will be remembered as one of the greatest actors of all time
What I really like is that he nailed both sides of bruce wayne his public demeanor and the way he acts when not around anyone. He conveys focus on the task at hand
What I love about Bale’s version is Bruce’s secret love for Batman. You can tell when people discuss Batman and have admiration for what he’s done, Bruce focusses with some glee in his face. At this point he feels great about everything he is doing and hasn’t really come face-to-face with the consequences of his actions. Then at the end, Rachel basically tells him she’ll never be with him as long as he is Batman. Kinda dumb but okay. Then in the second one Bruce treats Batman more like a burden and less like a virtuous joy-ride. You can really tell that in the dinner scene with Harvey, Rachel, and the Russian dancer that his interest is insanely peaked by the thought of a world where Batman was no longer needed. And then that became his goal. I think that’s why I prefer this Batman over Pattinson. The first film is still kind of fun, sort of like Keaton, Bale’s Batman got a sick sort of thrill from it all, it played with the superhero aspects a bit more and I love superheroes. I appreciate the different approach with the new Batman and I hope they develop the sort of Bruce Wayne that would make sense for this universe. (Btw didn’t discuss The Dark Knight Rises cause I just don’t want to, f*ck that movie)
This quote was legitimate up until the dark knight rises bashing.. jk it’s still legit. But why do ppl hate TDKR!? I get it’s the most flawed in the trilogy but it’s an epic conclusion in every sense of the word. Emotionally resonant, well written with a few plot holes for sure.
@@swishknowsball It isn’t the worst movie ever but I need to treat movie’s fairly based on what they are. TDKR is just so odd to me. The Talia twist was dumb, Bruce became stupidly naïve, Bane gave Batman 5 months to recuperate for their showdown, Jordon Glovit Levit Buvit Muvit’s character was stupid and annoying as well, he was like a little kid in a policeman costume. Which I get it (Oh ya reel name Robin use dat) but man it was just all too cheesy for me personally. And I like Ann Hathaway but idk man, her Catwoman was too basic. They got things right but she has no real character other than the fact that she thinks rich people suck and she questions her morality at times. Idk I can’t stand the movie even though they’re things I do like about it.
@@Aswar211 The story gets a little wonky imo, the dialogue is very cheesy and forced at times, the whole Talia arc is just bad, the Robin arc is just bad, the whole prison scene was pretty good and made sense for the story but I still can’t understand punching someone’s back into perfect health. Idk the movie isn’t up to par with it’s predecessors
@@MateImDeepInnit Well I mean he wasn't "punching someone back into health." Tho he was reconfiguring his spine. They probably just made him do it in a dramatic way like that since its a movie
I love how Bruce’s tangent about the “phonies” appears to just be him drunk and clueless, like he doesn’t know what he’s doing, while deep down he probably meant EVERY word. He despised the out-of-touch socialites he was surrounded by and let them know it, even though it was to save them. Just brilliant.
He wasn't actually buying it on the spot right there. He leaves with the girls, he just doesn't gave any F's and was showing that guy he could buy it if he wanted. Just being arrogant Bruce Wayne before he dipped out of there (of course dipping in the water first haha)
Well did he successfully bought the restaurant, with legal papers? I think it is more like the Manager is stoned and don't know what to do to a crazy dude who just gave him a check with huge amount. He probably took some time checking who is this rich guy,and then found out he is Bruce Wayne, then he called the owner, the owner said: "nah, let him be, he is just a billionaire playboy with nothing better to do, I'll see how to manage this situation later with Lucius fox.." This can happen, he is not some random rich douchebag, he is a Wayne, that name means something in Gotham.
People don’t realize Bruce Wayne is actually a persona “Batman” develops. Bruce believes his true self is Batman, BRUCE is the mask he uses to deceive people in the general public. That’s why Rob’s Batman story is great for a year 2 Batman, he’s too much into Batman figuring out he needs to be Bruce too. This Bruce Bale is a Batman who has it all figured out, how to balance both Bruce and Batman, he’s really figured out the role Bruce plays in his life.
Batman isn’t his true self.. his true self is when he’s in the cave with Alfred - Batman is an extension of his guilt and anger - Bruce Wayne is the facade he puts up of the life he thought he’d have had his parents not died.
A fun way for Battinson to distinguish his portrayal of the Bruce Wayne persona from Bale and Batfleck could be to act similarly to how Pattinson acts IRL during interviews. Like kinda goofy, rambling, funny, charming but chaotic. A little similar to how Keaton played it, but with his own spin.
@@kaaluha nope, you have to understand that tastes we don't discuss, matter of fact, my forever batman is Kevin Conroy, If you don't agree with something, it doesn't mean that some1 else is wrong.
Bale is an awesome Bruce Wayne. But that couldn't be done without an awesome writing and directing. Nolan's vision of Bruce is amazing and Bale gave life to it.
I love how he introduces his date as being in the ballet to impress them, then looks at Harvey and says “Oh you’re into ballet?” as a subtle insult lol
Mr. Earl's face falls real quick. And I love how Bruce says "It's all a bit technical..." just like Earl said to him when Bruce asked him who was buying up the stock. And then Fox puts the last nail in the coffin by throwing Earl's own line back on him too - "Didn't you get the memo?" LOLLOLLOLLOL They both got their revenge on Mr. Earl!
I love how Christian Bale nailed the three sides of Bruce Wayne. He nailed Batman very well, channeling the kind of anger and pain Bruce would exhume as Batman and intimidated the normal every night criminal very effectively. While people make fun of his voice, it’s smart he’d have to change it considering how Bruce Wayne is well known and people would know his voice, it also works due to the more grounded version of the character he’s playing. He got the playboy version of Bruce Wayne down where he seems a bit full of himself, to where people see him as too self absorbed to be selfless enough to be Batman as well as being a very good philanthropist while being a billionaire, which also comes into his portrayal as the real Bruce that people like Alfred Fox, Rachel and eventually Blake and Selina see, where he’s able to actually be himself and not have a persona around those he’s close with. He’s the best Bruce Wayne/Batman to me.
I really liked how well put and formulated that was, especially in regards to you describing the three identities. You’re absolutely right, it’s not just playboy billionaire, and Batman with very little emotions, striking fear into the villains. But at his core, theres also that boy who lost his parents years ago and is forever hurt and never at peace.
I don't think of it that way...Patrick is very much like a fish out of water among his peers. Bale plays him so that you can see him struggling to be normal but the trouble is, he doesn't even KNOW what's normal. Listen to Patrick talk about liners notes of albums and such and you see just how hard he has to try to even be conversational. In contrast, Bale's Billionaire Playboy persona fits in among his peers like a glove. Yes - the Playboy is eccentric - but he blends right in with the Trust Fund Brigade with ease. I think what people key into is that both Patrick and the Playboy are putting on act to hide who they really are underneath. They both come across as "monied" and arrogant and pretentious. But I don't see the Playboy as a toned-down version of Patrick. That's my take on it but I do see why people say that.
You should've let that clip play out where Bruce suggests putting tables together when Harvey says he doesn't know if they can but then Bruce says they should because he owns the place lok
Batman Begins is still my fav of the trilogy for how it managed to give us time to feel the differences in Bruce’s public billionaire facade, intimidation tactics as Batman and of course his own personality and ambitious drive. Too many filmmakers just showcase Bruce’s attitude being the same in private and wearing the cowl which it isn’t.
snyder's bruce: "i bought the bank", "i'm rich" Nolan's bruce: doesn't talk about being rich he is the money and puts the spoiled brat act so perfectly
Batman 89 was a bit too new wave, but once batman begins was released, it really came into its own both artistically and commercially, the whole movie has a crisp, clear feel to it, a new sheen of consummate professionalism that really gives the movie a big boost, he's been compared to Michael keaton, but I think Christian bale has a far more bitter, cynical sense of humor.
I hope he doesn't. I don't think that version of Gotham would work with the billionaire playboy. I could see him putting on a similar persona, but not acting the exact same way
@@FrancisCastiglione I actually hope he will have to balance it out. Like for instance he will have to rpetend to be a spoiled brat in order to enter circles of the very top of society where rich people who only want to do good arent welcome. Batman needs the Bruce Wayne mask sometimes to gather more intel about the people who arent hiding in the dark when comitting their crimes and those people dont hang out with philantropists…
Others have said it as well but it bears repeating. Christian bale is an amazing batman, one of if not the best, but he is the best Bruce Wayne. There is no debate. If I were to imagine Bruce Wayne and his personality, I would think of what bale portrayed and he portrayed it perfectly, like nobody else ever could.

What I really like is that he nailed both sides of bruce wayne his public demeanor and the way he acts when not around anyone. He conveys focus on the task at hand
Indeed, but you would have first hand experience with that since your Batman as well.
the type of power he holds, just by the way he sways his words around
He's not the Bruce Wayne we deserve, but the Bruce Wayne we needed the most
2:23 his body language here reminds me of Patrick Bateman
Looks like the American Psycho took over him for a second 😂
"No, no, no... I'm not finished."
The line is so off the cuff and yet Bale gives it a delightful drunken cheeky delivery.
Such a fantastic actor
He had such a charm. He had the perfect face for an experienced Batman still in youth.
"How did you get dinner reservations here?"
"That's simple, I bought the restaurant."
Just like he said he would in Batman Begins...🤣

Hello mr gigachad
Except Pattinson. He's Kurt Cobain and probably weighs as much as Kurt too.
Im curious why don't you like dark knight rises?
This quote was legitimate up until the dark knight rises bashing.. jk it’s still legit. But why do ppl hate TDKR!? I get it’s the most flawed in the trilogy but it’s an epic conclusion in every sense of the word. Emotionally resonant, well written with a few plot
holes for sure.
0:14 "Nice car"

Batman will never be the same without Christian Bale. He just fits the role so well. Sad to see him grow old and not play Batman anymore.
th-cam.com/video/HrbnLA0ZQss/w-d-xo.html LMAOOO
I actually like that he didn’t play Batman till the end like the James Bond movies. There needs to be an end.
When Bale's 60, they're gonna cast him as a teenager and he's gonna pull it off. 😂
Affleck was objectively better as Batman. No contest about it.
@@Ojas97 ?
i don't think you can buy a hotel by giving a check to the restaurant manager 🙃
Hes Batman
DC plot armor
He wasn't actually buying it on the spot right there. He leaves with the girls, he just doesn't gave any F's and was showing that guy he could buy it if he wanted. Just being arrogant Bruce Wayne before he dipped out of there (of course dipping in the water first haha)
🤓🤓🤓🤓🤓
Well did he successfully bought the restaurant, with legal papers? I think it is more like the Manager is stoned and don't know what to do to a crazy dude who just gave him a check with huge amount. He probably took some time checking who is this rich guy,and then found out he is Bruce Wayne, then he called the owner, the owner said: "nah, let him be, he is just a billionaire playboy with nothing better to do, I'll see how to manage this situation later with Lucius fox.." This can happen, he is not some random rich douchebag, he is a Wayne, that name means something in Gotham.
He accurately describes what the top 1% actually is.
“Well a guy who dresses up like a BAT, CLEARLY has some issues 😅🫤” 😭🤣🤣
@@firstlast9846Agreed, the man in the cave is his true self

Out of all the Batman films, Christian Bale's role as Bruce Wayne is the most suited as a billionaire.
Impressive, very nice. Let's see Robert Pattinson's batman
1:22 his inner Bateman is kicking his way out
The roles are so synonymous.

I bet Bruce could get a reservation at Dorsia
Wish I could relate :(
Bruce: So let’s put couple tables together?
Harvey: I don’t think they’ll let us.

Christen Bale never had to say out loud that he was rich

Just the amount of detail in the smallest scenes
subtle?
He is THE Batman. He is THE Bruce Wayne.
Honestly what an amazing video, so genuinely crafted and woven together. This King of Condiments guy has some real talent.
Thank you for such kind words, much appreciated.
he cut like the best part ;-;
I would never, just teasing sorry about that, I cut out some very crucial parts. Mainly cause I suck at editing.
Bale was every bit the perfect blend between batman and bruce wayne
The best of both worlds, quite literally.
I love that the scene where Bruce reveals he bought Wayne Enterprises is the most replayed/watched part of the video
Lol
@@kingofcondiments thank you very much!

@@kingofcondiments Yea. Tony Stank right?
Bale’s portrayal of Bruce Wayne is literally just him toning down his portrayal of Patrick Bateman. And I fucking love it
I don't think of it that way...Patrick is very much like a fish out of water among his peers.
Bruce is just Bateman's alter.

“What are your super powers again?” ‘I’m rich.” Indeed, what a joy it must be.
Bale best batman and best bruce and such a good actor
Batman 89 was a bit too new wave, but once batman begins was released, it really came into its own both artistically and commercially, the whole movie has a crisp, clear feel to it, a new sheen of consummate professionalism that really gives the movie a big boost, he's been compared to Michael keaton, but I think Christian bale has a far more bitter, cynical sense of humor.
I really hope to see Battinson in the next movie act the same
I hope he doesn't. I don't think that version of Gotham would work with the billionaire playboy. I could see him putting on a similar persona, but not acting the exact same way
@@errwhattheflip Yeah, he'd likely be a more social philanthropist, but the spoiled playboy features won't necessarily work all that well imo.
@@FrancisCastiglione Yeah, that's how I see it too.
@@FrancisCastiglione I actually hope he will have to balance it out. Like for instance he will have to rpetend to be a spoiled brat in order to enter circles of the very top of society where rich people who only want to do good arent welcome.
