Thank hou for sharing the Toronto trip, so much fun 😊 Your Anker Tee looks fantastic on you, I keep smiling whenever you mention our Danish knitwear designer 🧶🇩🇰. I am also making notes while you talk, eg. the Tynn Line with mohair for another Ranunculus - I have never knit a Ranunculus but have Tynn Line in my stash, so now I am inspired to get some Silk Mohair and make one for me 😊 Wishing you a lovely June
Thanks for sharing all of the fun at Knit City Toronto..we have so few venues like that in New Hampshire so it's always nice to see others. Love all of your yarn and knits especially the clay colored set from The Knitting Loft
Bonjour Selma Tous les modèles de tricot présentés dans cet épisode sont très jolis. J aime le choix des coloris.Bravo pour ce moment partagé.A bientôt Patricia
What a great recap of Knit City and your time in Toronto! It was super lovely to meet you and chat all things podcasting. Wishing you happy knitting ahead with your newly acquired yarn!
You have been busy with your knitting! I enjoy those times of plenty, plenty of patterns I want to knit and the yarn to knit with. Very happy circumstance. Can't wait to see what you start first. Congratulations on reaching a point where you are able to reduce the hours you have to work. I am retired and the time and freedom to indulge in my knitting, gardening, and time with family is the best. 😊
Hi Selma, Your Anker Tee looks lovely - Thank you so much for the lovely shout out for my podcast. I am also totally taken with your Peacock tee. That color looks stunning on you and I could totally see this design as a beautiful dress. I am totally inspired to make it now, as well as the Everyday Attitude. Love that shoulder chevron detail. Thank you for your lovely podcast and sharing your makes and experiences with us. :)
Oooh, so many pretty things! And all those hugs and smiles and laughs. Sounds like a great time since your last podcast. I'm so happy for you! The social tee is my favorite but the Anker is a very close second. It looks fabulous on you; the color, the fit, the style all suit you well. Good for you for both the walking and eating successes. I can't leave my husband for long for health reasons, so have been working in the yard. It's desert here but still a lot to do and now I have all the dried grasses well away from the house. The fun part? Yesterday I reached back to scratch the back of my thigh and it was SOLID!!!! The other day, my upper back hurt so I did a forward bend and without trying, reached the floor. So I am enthused to continue. Yes, that documentary about food made us cut even further back on meat. We already skip meat at lunch and breakfast and have very small servings at supper, so now we're skipping that too at 2 suppers a week. Nothing has to remain perfect - just the best we can do. So well done!
It was a very impactful documentary I must say!! We already have been buying our chicken and beef directly from small local farms for some time but it made me think a lot about fish in particular!! Well done on all fronts mentioned!!
Lovely podcast. Really enjoyed the review of your KnitCity time and the pictures were lovely. Love the Ranne vest the most. The other one is beautiful but the Ranne is just stunning! All your knits are stunning.💗💗🧶🧶
Wonderful FOs and WIPs! I love the clever idea of an inflatable pool for soaking large items. The KCT footage and stories were delightful. Thank you and happy spring knitting! 🌸
Lovely knits. That green yarn swatch that you held up looked really great on you. Inga from the Knitting Traditions is knitting a dress. Thank you for sharing your Knit City Toronto. I'm looking forward to Knit City Calgary. Take Care.
Greetings, Selma. As always, well done, well done! I live alone with my cat, so the 'family noises' you apologize for are to me 'nothing to apologize for!' My kitty might say otherwise, as I called out to her once thinking she was making an odd sound! LOL I love the yarn combo for your newly cast on Ranunculus and cannot wait to see how it develops. I always learn something from you. I hope you are having a blessed day, as I am continually blessed by your videos. Deborah
Lovely knits. I’m with you on keeping it simple with the quilting and sewing clothes. I have loved making log cabin quilts with modern colors/style. I’ve sewn many simple clothes from the designer 100 Act of Sewing. She has a great book that includes some of her patterns but I’ve made her pants, one of the sleeveless dresses and one of the shirts -mostly in linen. I highly recommend! Starting on a Gansey for my husband on 3mm needles-I thought I bought a thicker yarn for it but when I checked, it’s a fingering/sport weight. At least it will be more wearable here in Southern California. The stripped sweater looks lovely!
Hi there Selma, I love your podcast,so friendly , personal and informative. All your tee’s are fabulous. Just a note about washing your ryijy , make sure that you have strong men around to lift it out of the pool, soooo heavy. I’ve washed mine flat on the deck using mild soap, the hose and draping on the railing after most of the water has dripped through the deck boards. Good luck!
Hello Selma, thank you for another great episode of your knittings. We are going to visit your country, including Ottawa, Toronto, Québec and Montreal and Niagara Falls. I am very exited about that. Kind regards from Germany and happy knitting!
Absolutely wonderful episode as always Selma! Knit City YYZ and your time with Mel and Megha sounded delightful. Wow 🤯 I really need to get my patootski to The Knitting Loft and check that heavenly place out! 🤩 Excited for your new pattern design, the beautiful knits to come, and all that is on the horizon for you. 😊
Oh my! I feel the same way! I have so many sweaters that I just love and not sure which will be next on my needles. Just finished a test knit Tee for Samatha Guerin. And just have I think three other small knits to finish. But I love your white Tee! Thanks for sharing and inspiring!
Hi Selma So happy you had a fun time … I was suppose to go but expenses came up .. would have loved to meet you 😊 Your anchor tee is beautiful and you other knits ♥️♥️♥️the striped sweater on the go you’re doing The knitting Loft is a beautiful store .. my daughter lives 5 min from there in North York and got to experience it last yr and my daughter got me a gift certificate for Christmas from there so going to use next week .. can’t wait !!! Harbour Castle is beautiful also So great to have girl time also !!! I am going to another Kawratha yarn festival in Fenlon on the 8th so can’t wait Have a great week ahead 😊🥰
Hi Selma. Your maker tee is so lovely that I’ve ordered some of the same yarn whilst watching your podcast. I really wanted to try knitting for Olive this year and thanks to you, my yarn is on its way. Love watching your podcasts. Thanks for pleasant company whilst I knit. PS I’m watching from the North West of England.
So many beautiful knits Selma! I think the Everyday Attitude is my favorite and I have to give the Anker Tee a try as well. I will definitely be joining your Patreon.
What a great idea, Selma 🎉.. I would love to join in becoming a patron member and would love to see much more of your knitting talent..e.g. conversions, adjustments/changes in knitting patterns etc🥰
Thank you for all the beautiful projects….i have a current thumb injury which I am sure you understand the limitations….i don’t know that I see when this knit fiber show occurs but would like to visit the area sometime will have to look for it. Takes planning as I am in USA Virginia. Yorktown area!
Thanks for responding thumb is better avoiding small circular knitting will look up dates for knit city…love knit for olive merino cotton, did a Yamagara top thought it would be a disaster but it is great.
Thank you Selma for a (again) inspiring episode, always a pleasure to watch 😘I love all your plans with the lovely yarns. Greetings from the Netherlands 🙋🏻♀️Anita
This was such a happy episode and of course at the end with the Knit Toronto video I couldn't get the silly smile off my face. It all looked so pretty. I adore your Anker Tee and you look so nice in the white color. So Summery. I just completed my Tolsta Tee in the same cotton/cashmere yarn that you used for yours. I am so satisfied with it. I love the look and the fit. It's not too tight, not too loose but just right. So comfy and I think it will be a wonderful addition to my Summer wardrobe. It's being blocked right now. I have an intention that I'm giving myself til the end of the year to accomplish. All my life I have wanted to be able to do the splits. Since Easter this year I've been stretching almost every day and I'm definitely getting lower. I'm going slowly so as not to hurt something but so far so good. Hopefully by the end of 2024 this 66 year old will finally be able to do the splits. 🤞
What a fabulous intention!!!! I hope you tell me when you get there! I hope you enjoy the tolsta! That yarn is lovely but mine seems to have stretched a bit. I will have to wash it. Glad you enjoyed the podcast 😊😊
I have been waiting for your Patreon for a long time!! I love your podcast and among all of them, this is the one that I look forward the most. I would definitely subscribe! Knit nights would be great, patterns discussions, yarn, stash, etc. Best news ever!!
On your TH-cam channel, I enjoy you different lifestyle topics, like your monthly challenges, the way you were incorporating walking/hiking, and trying new crafts. I will be listening for word on your Patreon. Enjoy your time. Kim
I ❤ the pool idea, genius! Your grandmother’s carpet is absolutely stunning, I hope you keep it, it’s a treasure! Excited about your Mariposa cardigan,I have had the vest version favourited for along time and plan to make one day. That mohair yarn, the Canadian one is stunning, I checked out their website, and bookmarked it.😊
Hi Selma: What an awesome treat is to be able to start the day with knitting with you this Sunday morning! Yes, I have the same challenge with walking. After my freak accident five years ago that resulted in a fractured left ankle with screws and plates and physical therapy, I had another bout of falling and sprain other ankle and twist of the big toe of the feet with the fractured ankle on a cruddy street grocery shopping on last New Year’s Eve that left me very wary about falling again. I was lucky I was able to navigate going to Montreal last year for a little getaway. I had to be careful about cruddy sidewalks and streets. Going forward I would like to travel more because I hardly had any travel in my life, but I have to find places that don’t have so many cruddy sidewalks and street since the pandemic. I, too, am trying to start to incorporate reading and writing in my daily routines so I can spend less time scrolling on my phone. I, too, have been trying to incorporate whole grains in my sourdoughs and eat a more healthy diet since the pandemic. Love that you are enjoying quilting. I wish had a sewing machine that works. I have to hand stitch a toaster cover that I bought fabrics for because my sewing machines are not working, and I can’t get another at this time. I am knitting a third Salty Air and just finished my second Anker Summer sweater. They just fit so well! Thanks very much for sharing! Happy crafting and enjoy a nice restful summer!❤
I hope that you keep moving and don’t let the cruddy sidewalks stop you!! Thanks for sharing!! Less scrolling is always a good idea!! It’s so bloody easy to do!!
Dear Selma, thank you for recording your woderful podcast. I enjoy it so much evrry time. I realy brightens my day. Haha, it feels almost like meeting a friend once a month. Which might be weird considering that we don't really know each other... well, the wonders of the interwebs 😁 I wish you great success wih your next challenges. ❤ Anfrea
Selma, what a very nice episode, thank you! You inspired me with the linen and mohair combo. I have some beautifull linen but the colour was a bit to pink for me, now I want to combine it with almond or chocolate mohair. And there is always place for another ranunculus 😂
Perhaps one day the Anker Tee will be in my future, alas not yet! Knit city Toronto looked like a blast, thanks for the footage. I think I need to look up Alley Cat Yarn now.....
Selma, your Anker Tee is beautiful and I love the pearly white yarn you chose. I do see a bit of candlelight in that color too, always a nice touch. Over this 2024 USA Memorial Day weekend, I have taught myself how to knit stranded colorwork (Fairisle knitting), have overcome lots of initial anxiety and worthless tutorial videos, have gone on to design a hat pattern for myself in stranded colorwork, and now I'm knitting the hat. In about 5 more rounds I will be starting the decrease section. From defeated to designing in two days.
Selma you not only inspire me, you amaze me! With all your challenges, your organization, your sense of style, your imagination … a patreon acct. is definitely a perfect fit! I always have a project in my hands while watching you but I’m so busy making notes either on paper or in Ravelry that I don’t get a whole lot of knitting done. 🤣 As for cleaning your carpets… I’m guessing that they’re made of wool so how about Eucalan soap? Till next time… happy everything 😊
It was nice meeting you, Megha and Mel at Knit City! I just went for the day, but your weekend sounded amazing! I love your white Anker. I bought some Myak yarn in almost white. I think it might be what I make. Rosie
I was lucky to learn about Pearadise bags from one of your TH-cam videos. I was able to pick up a lovely pink Knit bag at Knit City. . I also bought little yarn at the show (just a few mini skeins) but bought beautiful yarn at The Knitting Loft on Sunday where they had house yarns on sale.
I love your Anker Tee! I'm in the process of knitting one for myself in 2XL. I'm using Rowan Summerlite 4 ply, 100% cotton. It's my first attempt at knitting myself a garment. I hope mine looks half as lovely as yours! Thank you for your inspiration! I love your podcasts.
Loved seeing your gorgeous kitties, kitty bags and makes today! Hoping to make it to a Knit City event in the near future. I'd look forward to chatting with you while Selma is holding audiences with her paparazzi 🤣
Such an inspirational podcast! I’ll need to order some Knitting for Olive merino/cotton, think more seriously about a healthier diet and accept your challenges! That and cast on an Ilha in my repurposed BT Loft wyarn! Keep up your good work!🌸👏
Hi Selma. Love the white Anker it’s stunning ❤. Question: on the everyday attitude do you cut the yarn, so there are a lot of ends or are you carrying the yarns?
Just found you and so glad I did. I’m from Australia and love Tash from Mostly Knitting. The peacock tee has moved up my queue. I love hearing from someone who has made a pattern I’m interested.
Hi Selma, just want to let you know that the King Textiles on Queen Street is now closed, and all the inventory is now at the Spadina store. Thanks for the wonderful podcast. You've convinced me to make an Anker Tee.
Thank you for another inspiring episode, I could recognise the overwhelming feeling of all the things you want to knit. 😊 I have just finished a Snorlige V sweater with long sleeves by Elsebeth Judith and my next dream knit is a Sway Line Tee by Aneta Bleyer, I just have to find the right yarn for it. Happy knitting.
Your grandmother’s Ryas are beautiful! I’m going to offer unsolicited advice as I feel some anxiety hearing of your plan. Another well proven method is to take them outside in the winter, put them on top of some clean snow on a dry, very cold day. Scatter the light dry snow onto the surface, work in lightly, turn over, tamp, then brush off. I like using an old school broom for this. It’s large flat side for tamping and its coarse ends for sweeping. Repeat on the reverse side. Lightly beating while resting on the snow helps release dust. Yes, I know it sounds bizarre but it works. Immersion in water is a bit risky. Colour fastness is of concern. The other is how sound the fibres are after so many years. The sheer weight when wet especially of the largest one might cause damage when you are manipulating it. I’ve watched colour go down the drain of an antique rug in the bathtub. And have seen rugs with chunks broken away from pulling a saturated edge. Good luck Selma! If you are thinking of letting go of either please let me know!
Everytime I see the Anker, I want to knit it, but I think of all that purling and think hmmmmmm. Hmmm. Your cream might just be the tipping point for me. It was so lovely to meet you and Megha and Mel! I was the girl in the teal ombre dress. Also for every haul I watch, I always have that.... "Oh I *missed* that moment" (even though I had a huge haul). For you, it's the little walking yarn holder! I have a stationary version that works with magnets, which I enjoy, but I've been thinking about trying the walking ones. So many pretties!
Hello Selma, another lovely and inspiring podcast. I’ve been following you for years now, and really interested in Patreon, with more tips and inspiration and maybe tutorials. Also interested in other crafty things such as sewing and quilting but having not much experience with that, some tutorials ons that part would certainly be welcome. Thank you for bringing me joy every third week and looking forward ! ❤
Another lovely episode. I was sad to have missed you. I was over from Scotland for knit city toronto. Glad you had a great time. I had to buy an extra suitcase for my fabric/yarn purchases. 😂🙈
Good morning from Kansas. I am working on a Ranunculus now & wondering if you would share what cast on you use & number of stitches. I can’t for the life of me figure out her recommended cast on & numbers. Your podcast is always one of my favorites! I always get good ideas & learn something too. Thank you…Marilyn
Hello there I always cast on 60 with a long tail cast on (2 needles held together) and then increase in the first row after the ribbing. Hope that helps 😊
I really enjoyed hearing about your monthly challenges Selma. I remember you talking about them at the beginning of the year but I would love it if you would review how to go about getting started. Your grandmother's large rug is stunning. Could it be used as a floor covering? Thanks for your time and effort.
I'm amused by your multiple Ranunculi (multinunculous?) as I'm sitting watching your yarntube and knitting on my 7th Sunshine Coast! I think it was your influence that put me on to the pattern in the first place.
Love the Peacock tee. I haven't made the Anker Tee yet, but I think you could put short rows in the columns instead of the increase rows; I don't think you would notice that the columns are longer in the back or toward the front.
I love the #Langyarns 🧶 too😉 at this moment knitting the #mellowmoodsweater with langyarns soft cotton and the #BERMYbasic26 with langyarns Noelle. Love them both!
Just discovered your channel- you have such great taste!!! Loving your content!
I hope you do!!

Greetings, Selma. As always, well done, well done! I live alone with my cat, so the 'family noises' you apologize for are to me 'nothing to apologize for!' My kitty might say otherwise, as I called out to her once thinking she was making an odd sound! LOL

Wonderful! Enjoy!!!
Love your summer tees, Selma. I actually made the peacock tee for my mother in law and she loves it! It’s one of my faves! All the best, Kimberly
I just finished the Ankers Tee in the same color but I used Sandness Garn Liine. I love it!
So you probably made the looser gauge one. Enjoy!!

For sewing, the rule is “make easy, buy hard”. So sewing simpler items that will make it enjoyable is a good thing.
Hello from Colorado ❤ My 1st time watching.
Welcome!
So many beautiful knits Selma! I think the Everyday Attitude is my favorite and I have to give the Anker Tee a try as well. I will definitely be joining your Patreon.

@@littlebigknits I remember you saying before that it had stretched so I too will rewash when that happens.
Hi I just discovered your channel ! Great content with a little bit of all my fav textile
Welcome! 🤗
The orange tee you knitted looks nice on you.
I also saw the Mostly knitting where she added lenght to the backside with Gsr. Genial🤗It is truly a nice tee. Enjoy your podcasts 🇳🇴🇨🇦

Thank you so much Kim!!
Hi, you could also wait with your ryijys until winter and ”wash” it in the snow. 😊 we usually do it that way in Finland or take them to the laundry.
I decided it would be cheaper to buy a pool as a ryijjy would be an odd item and I worried it would be crazy expensive. Let’s see what happens!!
Great podcast❤
Thanks so much!
Yeah! I have been waiting for your podcast!💗. I have the child pattern, of that tee.
Hope you like it! 😊😊
I ❤ the pool idea, genius! Your grandmother’s carpet is absolutely stunning, I hope you keep it, it’s a treasure! Excited about your Mariposa cardigan,I have had the vest version favourited for along time and plan to make one day. That mohair yarn, the Canadian one is stunning, I checked out their website, and bookmarked it.😊
Thank you so much!
Dear Selma,
thank you for recording your woderful podcast. I enjoy it so much evrry time. I realy brightens my day. Haha, it feels almost like meeting a friend once a month. Which might be weird considering that we don't really know each other... well, the wonders of the interwebs 😁
I wish you great success wih your next challenges. ❤
Anfrea
You are so welcome! Thanks to you for spending time with me in my living room ☺️☺️☺️
Love love your channel….just came across it 🧶 ‼️
Awesome! Thank you! 😊
You have really good pattern choices 😊
Thank you! 😊
Selma, what a very nice episode, thank you! You inspired me with the linen and mohair combo. I have some beautifull linen but the colour was a bit to pink for me, now I want to combine it with almond or chocolate mohair. And there is always place for another ranunculus 😂
That could be a very interesting combination!!
Perhaps one day the Anker Tee will be in my future, alas not yet! Knit city Toronto looked like a blast, thanks for the footage. I think I need to look up Alley Cat Yarn now.....
Please do! She is local to me and carries lovely bases!!
Well that’s impressive!!! You go you!!
@@littlebigknits Thanks, Selma. Knitting my second stranded colorwork hat now, this time learning to catch floats.
Eucalan could be a good idea!! Thanks for that! And I am thrilled I keep your hands so busy 🤪 thanks for the smile inducing comment! 😊😊
It was nice meeting you, Megha and Mel at Knit City! I just went for the day, but your weekend sounded amazing! I love your white Anker. I bought some Myak yarn in almost white. I think it might be what I make. Rosie
It was lovely to meet you!!
Wonderful! 👍🏻😊
I hope it works out well!! Do expect it to grow a tad so factor that into the length. 😘😘
Loved seeing your gorgeous kitties, kitty bags and makes today! Hoping to make it to a Knit City event in the near future. I'd look forward to chatting with you while Selma is holding audiences with her paparazzi 🤣
😂😂 I think this was for Megha @skeinsofdreams where are you?
@@littlebigknits 🤣🤣🤣🤣 now how did that happen?? I do hope one day to have an audience with both of you! Glad you enjoyed your time at Knit City. 😘
Such an inspirational podcast! I’ll need to order some Knitting for Olive merino/cotton, think more seriously about a healthier diet and accept your challenges! That and cast on an Ilha in my repurposed BT Loft wyarn! Keep up your good work!🌸👏
So curious how the carpet washing goes. If you document it, please share! Thanks for all your content🙂
Our weather has been so wet that I haven’t been able to wash any of them yet. I will do my best!
Hi Selma. Love the white Anker it’s stunning ❤. Question: on the everyday attitude do you cut the yarn, so there are a lot of ends or are you carrying the yarns?
Definitely carrying the yarns!
Just found you and so glad I did. I’m from Australia and love Tash from Mostly Knitting. The peacock tee has moved up my queue. I love hearing from someone who has made a pattern I’m interested.
Welcome!! 🤗
Hi Selma, just want to let you know that the King Textiles on Queen Street is now closed, and all the inventory is now at the Spadina store. Thanks for the wonderful podcast. You've convinced me to make an Anker Tee.
Good to know! Thanks!!
Could not get to KnitCity, so HELLO Selma from Kingston ❤ Lovely show 😊
Hello there!
I always look forward to your podcasts and would definitely support you on Patreon!
Wow, thank you!! ☺️
Lovely ideas!!!
That Everyday Attitude Top 😍
I'd like to see how you pair you knits with other garments--dresses, skirts, pants. And how you make those decisions.
Hello 👋 it was lovely to meet you!! Enjoy your haul!!!
Hi Selma!❤ Would love to join and also KALs. 😊 Love seeing all of your beautiful progress. Happy Making!!
Yay! Thank you! 😊
I might knit the ankles tee it’s really fab
It is lovely!!
Thank you so much!
Another lovely episode. I was sad to have missed you. I was over from Scotland for knit city toronto. Glad you had a great time. I had to buy an extra suitcase for my fabric/yarn purchases. 😂🙈
Oh I’m sorry too!!! I hope you really enjoyed your time in Toronto!!
Hello there
I always cast on 60 with a long tail cast on (2 needles held together) and then increase in the first row after the ribbing. Hope that helps 😊
@@littlebigknits thank you!!
I really enjoyed hearing about your monthly challenges Selma. I remember you talking about them at the beginning of the year but I would love it if you would review how to go about getting started. Your grandmother's large rug is stunning. Could it be used as a floor covering? Thanks for your time and effort.
You look great in your new tee!
I have that pattern so you are inspiring! Thanks for sharing!❤️🧶
I'm amused by your multiple Ranunculi (multinunculous?) as I'm sitting watching your yarntube and knitting on my 7th Sunshine Coast! I think it was your influence that put me on to the pattern in the first place.
lol!! Maybe I need to make another one!!
Love the Peacock tee. I haven't made the Anker Tee yet, but I think you could put short rows in the columns instead of the increase rows; I don't think you would notice that the columns are longer in the back or toward the front.
The raine vest. Lol
I met Charan at a spinning retreat in New Zealand last month
He also teaches art yarn spinning he is amazing
It’s a small world
That’s very cool!!
I love the #Langyarns 🧶 too😉 at this moment knitting the #mellowmoodsweater with langyarns soft cotton and the #BERMYbasic26 with langyarns Noelle. Love them both!
Sounds great!! 👍🏻
