I salute the service you have done for our swfitie community by knitting that cardigan at lightning speed to make this possible for your sister lol it's stunning! (the service is making a fellow swiftie happy of course!)
I know you've done a few how-to videos, which I would love ❤️ to see more of: specifically provisional cast-ons, German short rows & how to pick up stitches. Those are very common techniques that I find intimidating. Your voice, sense of humor & way of explaining things would help a lot! Nora's Knit-Tips are greatly needed, imo!
I'm almost finished with my orange and green purl soho half and half wrap! Only 3 more rows! I started it in June of 2023 when I was studying abroad in Florence, Italy before my senior year. Its the project that got me back into knitting and I cant believe its almost done after so long! #emma
Your videos are my cozy moment of the week! 🥰 I saw a comment below mentioning that your explanations can get lengthy, but for me, they are absolutely essential. As a beginner knitter, knowing exactly how you solved a problem you encountered (I'm always amazed by your creativity, your thought process, the techniques you try, and the results you achieve) is incredible. I never forget any of your explanations, and they've already helped me fix finishing issues in my pieces! On top of that, your energy is amazing, and knitting while watching and listening to your videos is such a delight-I always feel a little sad when an episode ends, hahaha😸. And when you tried on the yoga sweater and started answering that question, I have to admit, I stopped everything to pay attention. I already had an idea that editing videos was a long and time-consuming process because, back in my IT college days, we had to submit some assignments via video. One time, I decided to edit mine to make it look more presentable, and I almost lost my mind. So much work! But what really impressed me-and something I learned from you-is this idea of setting a goal, sticking to a timeline, and following through no matter what. I'm currently reading *Atomic Habits*, and your determined approach to achieving your goals aligns so much with what the book teaches. When you talked about your goal and how you made it happen in your 1-year channel video, it made me rethink my entire life. I realized how easily I give up on anything I decide to do for myself. I'm great at doing things for others and always deliver quality work, but when it’s something for me, I don’t take it seriously-I don’t leave a good finish on my pieces, I quit at the slightest inconvenience. Hearing you share your journey has made me see things differently, and I’ve been knitting with much more patience, undoing (frogging) and redoing, looking for better finishes and solutions, all inspired by you. I even talked about you with my sister this week, who struggles with the same issue, hahaha. You’ve truly been an inspiration-thank you so much for sharing all of this! Oh, and I want to join the giveaway too!!!! Fingers crossed I get lucky, hahaha! #emma Big ol' thanks from Brazil 💛💚💙
Loving your poets sweater! Hope your sister loved it too. Emma’s patterns are so beautiful and creative! I’m working through a color work sweater as a gift with a tight goal of thanksgiving day. Thank you for reminding me that creating crazy personal Deadlines for projects don’t have to become life ending, especially when they drain the joy from the gift knit. 🧶 Love your videos every week
it'd be cool to see a tutorial of steam blocking on Wool Ease projects. I only steam blocked once on the Thick and Quick and I hated how it looked, very plastic like and melty. Maybe there's a trick with temperature. Fortunately it was a headband project that didn't take long, so I ended up throwing it away. It was bad...
FABULOUS job on the poets cardi for your sis! Looks so good!! I am currently working on a super exciting test knit for Lily Kate Makes / Lily Kate France! The checker plate sweater!!! 😍 I’m using wool ease in the worsted weight in red and now I want to try a steam blocking it when done! I’ve never done a steam block. That is so cool of Emma and so sweet to gift a pattern! #Emma
oh my gosh, you are so much fun. I am loving the side-by-side of your posing the same! I am loving everything about this episode. The cardigan looks so great.
I am desperately working on finishing a test knit that I have restarted 2 times. This video has given me a bit of confidence about how much can be accomplished in a week.
Pace yourself and you’ll be surprised by how much you can get done!! If it helps, I set timers for 30 minutes while working on my sister’s cardigan and then 15min break timers and it helped me get through things without feeling too overwhelmed
Congratulations on getting the poet's cardigan done on time! It looks perfect on your sister. I love the vest you have on in this video! You are so beautiful and I love all the autumn colors on you! Happy Thanksgiving Nora!❤🧶
Your sister's cardigan is beautiful, and I would love to make one myself.😍 I totally agree with your evaluation of Lions Brand Wool-Ease.👍 Thanks for the opportunity 🙏. #emma
Wonderful knitting on your sister’s sweater! You’re a speedy knitter. One suggestion - some people have shorter necks than others. You may want to determine if your neck isn’t as long as the model. If so, you might want to reduce the length of the neck by an inch or so. ❤
Thank you so much!! I definitely will consider that in the future! I’ve just been mindlessly following the pattern and didn’t even think about neck length 😅
# Emma I love, love, love the bouclé pull-0ver sweatshirt style. I think your collar and cuff contrast is an clever touch. I've followed your podcast since your first and I look forward to Saturday mornings spent knitting with you. Your artistic computer art makes me smile. Great job! Happy Thanksgiving thank you. Mary F. Boise, idaho
#emma Thanks for another great podcast-my husband always entertains our baby on Saturday mornings so I can watch and knit! The cardigan turned out amazing and I so appreciate that it was done with an accessible and affordable yarn. Current WIPs are the Gardenia and Rosa sweaters from Claudia Quintanilla’s Memory Lane book 😊
You are such an inspiration to this novice knitter! Thank you for all you bring to the knitting world!!! 🎉 #emma Even if I don’t win I’ll probably go and get the pattern anyway! It’s gorgeous! Like that fav cozy sweatshirt to make you feel safe and secure. ❤
Love the podcast so much! It's my favorite part of Saturday mornings. I'm currently in between projects but having been practicing color work since my next project is a color work reindeer pillow case for the holidays. Would love to try the Artemisia sweater for my first garment! #emma
#emma this was a great video to watch as a break from my uni reading. I’m currently working on a crochet skirt and some gift knit hand warmers (will be my first complete knitted item, as I’m also working on a cowl for me).
#emma I don't remember if I've mentioned this before, be extra careful with getting enough yardage for your projects with Wool ease I've gotten in trouble and had super different dye lots more than once 😳
BTW Old Norwegian aka German cast on 99.99% of the time. Always tidy and stretchy. Numbered sizes???!!!! I will totally follow her forever. #emma. THANK YOU Nora. Also, thank YOU for not designing/flogging knitter’s T-shirts. Kidding, not kidding. 🤣 #emma
#Emma I don’t use Instagram but I think her patterns that you have done are lovely! Right now I’m trying to finish up WIPs. I did start a new color work sweater after finishing 2 of my WIPs. Thanksgiving will be quiet. My husband and I are going to our oldest daughter’s house.
#emma feeling very in sync because I’m watching this while weaving ends on my yoga winter sweater which I knit as a gift for my sister lol. And yes, the beginning of round is in the front!
I am making a holiday dress inspired by your Grayling pullover. I am using knit picks aloft and city tweed in a fern green combo. Thanks for your inspiration and truly outstanding podcast. 😊
#Emma I have been inspired by your courageous modifying to modify Amy Palko's Thegither Cowl. I am knitting it as a scarf, and flat, with two family tartan designs. I recently traveled to Scotland and want to honor that trip. The Winter Yoga Sweater is so cool!! I really want to make one for myself, or my daughter. I love your channel Nora! And congratulations on getting that cardigan done in time.
#emma I am so excited to see the artemisia sweater coming out! I am itching to cast it on!! The color that you used is beautiful, and I might just do the exact same because I love it so much. I’m working on an Alder sweater for Thanksgiving. I’m using an orange and cream yarn, so it’s very automnal and giving Thanksgiving vibes. I still have 8 inches left on the body, so wish me luck!
#emma. Well done on completing your sisters poets cardigan, what an achievement. I'm currently knitting Christmas presents- socks, ear warmers, cardigans and jumpers. Looking forward to next Saturdays episode. From Norfolk England.
We are driving to Montana from Seattle for thanksgiving and I am bringing a shawl that I need to finish the border on to work on in the car and then either the mystery KAL from Stephen West or a yet to be determined cast on to work on while we are there. #emma
#emma I so look forward to Saturday morning, coffee and your podcast. Currently working on the step-by-step cardigan by Florence Miller. My first sweater.🤞and lots of socks!!
#emma happy early thanksgiving! I’m deep in Christmas making, but I’m taking a small break to rest crochet a new pattern called The First Noel Cowl by northernmapledesigns. It’s been a fun pallet cleanser and I’m looking forward to a just for me January 😉🧶
#emma . . .I LOVE your thanksgiving vest and had to put it into my projects a.s.a.p!! Right now I am working on a Sophie Scarf as a gift knit. This is my second one so far and my 7th knitted object so far!!😊
Thank you for your channel! You’re now a part of my Saturday routine: a coffee, my WIP and a blanket while watching a new episode. So relaxing! ☕️❤️#emma
