Don't use it with a PS5, I did this and burned in the aspect ratio, no amount of panel or pixel refreshes will save it either as the pixels in the middle if used enough will simply be far dimmer than those that are off at the edges as they will essentially be newer. Remember, OLEDs burn in due to uneven pixel usage, and seeing as the pixels on the sides are off it leaves those in the middle forming the aspect ratio on and they get dimmer each second that passes. Think of OLEDs like candles, they get dimmer/shorter over time, the ones that are not lit will remain tall and once lit will be brighter than the ones that are now used. It all just takes some time.
Agreed, while there may be a 3 year warranty for burn-in, my personal opinion is I don't think it should be used primarily for console gaming until consoles start using the full resolution. 3 year warranty or not, it's still OLED and it still carries the risk of burn in.

@@abhishekab1 How do you not understand? Do you really have no idea what burn in is or how it works? Burn in is uneven usage of pixels... That's it. So in the case of an aspect ratio the pixels forming it will be on and getting dimmer over time ( OLED pixels get dimmer every second that they are on ) and the ones that are off ( the black bars ) will not be getting dimmer. You do this long enough and you can burn in the aspect ratio. Gamers will drop like 100hrs+ in games and thats 100hrs+ without those pixels being on. Its a huge waste of money getting this thing for a console as you will just burn in the aspect ratio. Films are all kinds of aspect ratios and TV ( The most likely thing you are watching ) is pretty much all 16:9.
Why can’t you just go into PS5 settings and ‘expand’ the screen corners on the display area setting? Sure, it’ll be a bit stretched, but no black bars.

I ended up picking up a Samsung Odyssey neo G8 32-in. It's not OLED but it is the next best thing and it is 16 x 9 resolution which is the native format for PS5. 3 year warranty or not, it's still OLED and it still carries the risk of burn in.
@@TechnologyMindset yeah I found out the hard way of going through my backlog of PS5 games so it was technically abused as it was almost always in 16:9 mode. I had done most of my games at that time on PC. New one is doing good though and I dont own a PS5 anymore
I don't understand. By that logic you shouldn't watch a lot of movies on your 4k oled TV, as they will give black bars on top and bottom.
I have looked at dozens of monitors over the last week for PS%. Every time I think I have one picked out I am thwarted once again. What would you say is hands down the best monitor in this size class for the PS5. My kid does a lot of FPS and sports games. ✌✌
I mean honestly it depends on what you want to spend and what you value in a monitor. I like my OLED monitor for the colors, contrast and HDR. Butttttt OLED is pricey.
I ended up picking up a Samsung Odyssey neo G8 32-in. It's not OLED but it is the next best thing and it is 16 x 9 resolution which is the native format for PS5. I read if I went with the OLED ultra-wide I would be stuck with black borders on the sides. I also read that Sony put out a firmware update that eliminates that. Can you confirm if Sony's firmware eliminates the black borders on ultra-wide screens?
I think 2023 qd-oled + a heatsink would make it extra super safe to use long-term. Here's to hoping they make a refresh with those technologies
Yeah. This monitor does have a fan inside (maybe even 2) so hope that helps.
@@TechnologyMindsetthat fan is for cooling the g-sync module.that’s why the new F version (no g-sync)doesn’t have fans.
@@meteor1522both have fans, the g sync version DW just has 2 fans, one for the panel and one for the Gsync module
The DWF has only 1 fan
🔥
QD OLED solved the burn in...
Don't know about completely solved it'll never be an issue again, but I welcome the improvements!
@@TechnologyMindset My Note 20 Ultra is filled with burn ins. My Alienware (Samsung display) I have since the launch doesn't have burn ins. I never had to hide the task bar, I'm always on the browser for my study and the top and bottom corners are free of burn ins. The time will tell but i have the 3 year warranty from Alienware so I'm not too worried about it. It looks very promising than traditional oleds.
For sure, the tech is getting better and better!
good music but turn it down a bit on your next video dude otherwise keep it up
I don't think it's a good idea to buy this ultrawide oled monitor for console that works at 16:9 i think you will get burn in very fast. I hope we will have some day a 27/28" or 32" 4K 144hz QD-Oled monitor. Also would be good if some brand release a 27/28" or 32" 4K 144hz VA panel monitor, actually only have cheap 4K VA monitor at 60hz the rest are IPS and for me IPS panel is a shi*.
Not for console only, if it’s for PC with occasional console it’s good though
You are wayyyy too paranoid about burn in for this monitor
lol this fuckin guy.... u have 3 year for sending it back for burn in... why the fuck turn it off even
lol
@@TechnologyMindset lol but yes actually :) best wishes (I only use oled in my house, not a noticable burn in during use... ofc u can find it everytime on every oled if u really want:)
Whats a good monitor for PS5
Think about what you’re looking for in a monitor and go with what’s in your budget. I like my OLED for color, contrast, and HDR for example. I wouldn’t recommend the monitor I have for console gaming only though, I would rather have a 16x9 if I was only doing that
@@TechnologyMindset I'm looking to spend 900-1200$
