Great review man! Would you mind digging into Dolby Vision Gaming on the Xbox, specifically for first person shooters? I just bought this monitor for my Xbox and was hoping to utilize it for that, but curious to know more. Great job!
You can give Dolby Vision gaming a go. There may be some latency issues in fast paced gaming, but nothing that should affect most gamers. Games like Gears 5 look fantastic in Dolby Vision but the rest are better mastered for HGiG, so I suggest go with whichever setting looks best to your eyes.
Hi! Thank you so much for making this video. For the last 4 weeks, I've just been researching 4K 120+ FPS monitors alongside OLED TVs like you mentioned. And I must say this was helpful. I felt the same decisions and thoughts you had. However, I would really like to ask 1 thing for which I was watching this video: The NVidia GSync & AMD Freesync are important for gamers as you know. However Alienware is advertisized to only have GSync support. But XBox, as you'd know has AMD processors. So, my question is - Would Xbox X be compatible with this monitor to vary the refresh rate ?
You are right. But honestly, I didn't find any issues with my time gaming on this monitor. If you are someone that has an eye that can catch these subtle details then you may want to check out other options. But honestly, for me, the overall experience was sublime
Hey buddy, does the curve hamper movie watching experience ? Especially if I am sating like 10 feet away. I really would like to know this before I make my purchase decision.
At 10 feet away you will definitely notice the curve. However the image is still clear. Up to 4 feet it doesn’t hamper the viewing experience. It’s more of an issue if there are people sitting at an off angle and viewing the display. I suggest you check out the gigabyte aorus fo32u2p. It’s one of the videos I’m working on myself so stay tuned for that.
on the PS5, go through the standard HDR settings process, but do not keep it to always on. Keep it on where applicable for HDR. On the monitor, go to display - Smart HDR - Game HDR. Input colour is RGB and sharpness is at 50. Hope this helps.
Hey Sameer great video as always. I have a different query regarding a TV purchase. I currently own a Sony Bravia from 2016 (which has served me very well) and I want to upgrade to a 4K TV. Since I will use it with my PS5, I want an HDMI 2.1 port to get that 120/40 fps experience. I researched a bit and thought that the Sony X90L would be great for it. The 65 inches is available for 1.5L. But after spending some time on Reddit I have been suggested the C3 OLED instead. What are your thoughts?
It depends on your use case and where you will place the TV in your house. the X90L has only 2 HDMI 2.1 ports of which 1 port is the eARC port incase you decide to get a soundbar in the future. The C3 on the other hand has all 4 HDMI 2.1 ports. As for the use case, if you will use the TV in a bright room, or have ambient light on (like a tube light) on in the room all the time, the go for the X90L as it will perform better in a bright room. But if you can control the lighting in the room and ensure the light does not reflect direct on the TV panel then go for the LG OLED. the colours will just pop. I think this should be the only purchase criteria for you.
You'd only need the soundbar if you don't want to use headphones and want others to listen to the audio. for a personal gaming experience, the headphones should suit you just fine.
Hi. Do you know if I can change contrast and brightness on this monitor using hrd mode :1000 nits? Colours in this mode seems to be too wishy washy for me.
@@Shadysghost I dont play a lot of multiplayer games so hard for me to give a definitive answer. The content does not look stretched at all unless it is in 4:3 and you are trying to force an aspect ratio.
After my new Lg qned 85 and PS5 slim. I am very happy with the output. Need to work on the heat dissipation of PS5, there were some lags while playing Detroit become human. And I also had the first ps1. Before that media and sega megadrive. Love your review.
agreed. I think Monitor Unboxed has done an absolute awesome review of the same details with measurements from Calman. It does hit 1000 nits in a 2% window which is fine. Considering the size of the monitor and the distance at which most people will sit, it is a great product.

@@IdiotBox86 Got it! Thanks for responding quick! I will go for it.
@@ArchitBohra Glad I could help! Let me know your experience 🙂
Brilliant review from a console gamer's perspective
thanks!
Would you suggest utilising Console mode on Xbox x when playing COD
ummmm... subjective. if the game goes beyond 60FPS, which it does, then I don't recommend it. But give it a shot it you can.

I just got mine today and I can’t seem to find the perfect settings for gaming. What setting did you put for your monitor? I have a ps5 btw

Yes. You can.
@IdiotBox86 May I ask how? I was trying lots of ways and found only how to do it with custom hdr set up (not with 1000 nits).
Does it full screen on ps5?
Yes
Does it look stretched? Or have any issues when playing multiplayer fast-paced shooters@@IdiotBox86

Thanks for your support!
Peak1000 has an aggressive ABL. Not every game will look cool, most of the games I play on HDR400.

Compared to Odyssey G8 this sounds fairly better
Haven't used the Odyssey so can't say.
Awesome review 👏🏾
Thanks You!
alienware has bad latency for 120fps & 60fps games
+ it has no audio ports
wouldnt recommend
It has HDMI eARC.......
Nice review 👍
Thanks. Glad you liked it.
