The lessons you teach here play a crucial role in my musical development. Your continuous inputs of great teachings reinforce my awareness of exactly what I need to think about when practicing. These are real bass lessons!
I just purchased a Mouse 30, fretless, flamed maple, looks wonderful. Plays great. Rob Allen makes wonderful instruments. You two guys play great. Congrats.
Very nice the way those two instruments sound together. Great playing too! I actually have a Rob Allen MB2 fretted (tuned to Hi C) - so it was really nice to hear it in this setting. Although it was my main instrument for 8 years or so, I’ve considered selling it or having it converted to Low B fretless, which I would probably use more. But this reminded me about the magic in the upper register. It really cuts through, in a sweet sounding way. I can always get another low B 5r but I will never get a better sounding Hi C instrument! FYI I’m currently using Thomastik jazz flats on mine which seem to be an upgrade from the tape wounds.
Question please. Would you take a fretless to a gig with charts/reading. I play fretted but love the sound of this Rob Allen. I mostly play jazz gigs with charts or iPad changes. I am worried that I am going to be sometimes out of tune because I think it’s harder to play a guitar bass in tune than an upright when not looking at your fingers. I would appreciate your professional advice on this. Thanks from Max 🇬🇧
Awesome playing and excellent hang ❤
LOVE THIS!! R.I.P. BIG JIM! YOU'RE IN HEAVEN LOOKING DOWN ON US, SMILING AWAY!!
Now that's relaxing. That's a groove to forget the time.
You two playing Got A Match has always been one of my favorite performances to hear throughout the bassworkouts over the years.
Cool. Mine too. :).

Rob!
The topic of the video and the first few bars made me think Frank Gambale was playing the bass
It looks like the frets are under the wood on that left bass high notes, whats going on?
Except the Chic Corea version Is 3 times as fast.
...thanks.
you are welcome
Appreciate the retired tempo...
