Confession: I am actually the guy in the video losing his mind, this was my first concert and I was front row so excitement got the better of me. God I hope he didn’t hear me.
This makes this video even cooler! this was your first concert AND it was front row! I took my best friend to see Thundercat for his birthday this yr on November 5th & was only told after the fact that that was his first concert at 30, & I got him close enough to have Stephen say hi to us before the last 2 songs. If you’re close enough to the stage he can definitely hear you &most likely see you at least a little bit lol trust me nothing to me ashamed of, they actually love hearing people with good taste in music respond to their playing in positive ways lol I Wish even 3/4 of the crowd(s) I was with knew about RTF &Chick Corea at those Thundercat shows, felt a little weird feeling like the only person who knew what they were playing besides Stephen, Dennis and Justin but it was funny trying to explain to ppl next to me who asked while I’m absorbing everything. Dennis absolutely made Chick proud on those keys 💗
I was slightly annoyed before, but I just realized the guy screaming and losing their collective shit is just verbally and externally expressing what I keep internally and feel when I see these guys play live. Every time.
chick corea when playing this solo "i wonder if some kids some day will memorize every single note of this ridiculous thing and play back in tandem to flex"
Came back here to say, I’m totally the dude that recorded now. He is me & I am him. I lost my shit hearing this live a few days ago 2x in a row and reacted the exact same way lol 😂
Damn bruh! I thought I was Chick's loudest fan but that guy totally wins!!!! So glad he was there for me because I once told Chick backstage that he deserved to have screaming fans at every show he played. The difference is that Chick's loudest groupies should typically have doctorates in music from prestigious institutions because he was simply the greatest musician of our lifetimes. Now we're living the last movement of his piano trio which he entitled, "Piano Sonata: The Moon".
Corea was ONE of the most influential guardians of his particular genre of music and due to that, he’ll forever remain an iconic musician. As for the ‘greatest musician of our lifetime’ I’m afraid I couldn’t agree with you less. There are too many virtuosic and significant players from the past and right now who would be rightfully cheated by undermining their own prestigious status with such a sweeping statement. In this case, I accept that Corea stands for how YOU feel about the man and even I have had a particular admiration of his contribution over his lifetime’s achievements. But the term ‘greatest’ for any individual man or woman in any specific field of career choice, is a combustibly loaded one and ultimately leads down a dead end! Let’s just embrace Corea for what a terrifically distinguished maestro and immense talent he was and will forever be remembered for!
No problem! Im so upset i wasn’t able to go on Saturday and I would have loved to see Moonchild and Victor Wooten. Cory and Stephen were incredible though and it was such a blast. Even got to meet them after. What cool guys.
A person w that much energy is highly appreciated in the Musicians eyes. Cause he could be like the rest of humanity who doesn’t appreciate artistry! He just gets it on different a lvl. Could’ve been his first concert 🤷🏾♂️
Thanks for posting this (and turning the phone sideways). They've got a real Return to Forever vibe going, great playing all around. Killer drums--people forget how hard drummers work playing fusion, this guy's got it! And what a hassle it is to bring a real Fender Rhodes piano on a gig, Chick would have appreciated that.
love this modern take on Humpty Dumpty.... I do kind of wish they had kept the same form in terms of the measure length... but I guess they can interpret how they like... wonderful stuff!! Chick Corea was a one off... to think he composed this back in the mid 1970s...
Search TH-cam for "Flying Lotus - U Have To Be Odd (GTA V)" from Grand Theft Auto 5 for the culprit and be glad we didn't also cut out the final 2 measures as well HA!!
Man they played this live in tulsa last night and it was one of the most amazing moments of music in my life, it's been a while since I've been able to just close my eyes and get lost in the music like I did during this session
Maaaan I totally feel your reactions. He did this in Boston and it was so dope, and all the Berklee kids sounded just like you 🤣 Nice video. Although video doesn’t do justice to just how bad this shit felt live.
I was there! I was actually on the other side of the stage. Drove out from Cincy to only listen to Cory. And looking back, I can’t believe I almost left after the funk apostle’s set. Close call! 😂 and even with the excitement, this video is still better quality than the one I recorded.
Never before have I experienced the sickest jazz fusion, crossed with comedy. The Chick fanboy is a little annoying, but when he scats the melodies of the songs randomly, it's totally worth it.

pretty ok reaction for the circumstances. no need for apologies.

I saw him in Napa and I had the exact same reaction. Dennis Hamm is the actual goat
great - and you're singing along with those tricky Chick Corea melodies!
I officially declare that you are a complete ignorant fool

this needs to be an album now, modern takes on music that was 50 years ahead of its time , like looking into an alternate reality
Absolutely

THANK YOU GUY LOOSING HIS MIND!
It would be UNERVING IF....YOU didn't know the music. LORD, someone that appreciates the music like i do!!!!
The best thing abt this video (besides Thundercat playing Chick Corea!!🏆) is this guy losing his shit! So happy for him😂
I think I need a "Holy Shit, Dennis!" t-shirt!
What an awesome two days this was. Cory Henry just before this, Victor Wooten the last night... thanks for putting this up man!
No problem! Im so upset i wasn’t able to go on Saturday and I would have loved to see Moonchild and Victor Wooten. Cory and Stephen were incredible though and it was such a blast. Even got to meet them after. What cool guys.

They are on fire, that drummer is killing 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
That one dude is way too happy.
He knows the changes. haha!!!
Lollll 😂
He's probably the most annoying dude on youtube
☠☠
You can always count on at least 1 person at every concert to be this way🤦
until the "Got A Match" part they're playing "Humpty Dumpty" from The Mad Hatter
Chick was the master of masters RIP

Saw this in Orlando last night, absolutely mind boggling this man sent me to the void

Brruuh braaah brohh bruh oh shiit fuuuck bruhh wooooow yeeraaahhhh
On my first listen-through, the dude losing his mind kind of annoyed me. At about listen-through #6, he's my favorite part of the video.
That Humpty Dumpty is so neat and futuristic.
excellent
Yo that's fucking awesome. I knew he sounded like chick corea
Yo this video means a lot to me btw and I watch it a lot so thanks for uploading it
Thank you for the kind words :)

I think if any band at all started playing Got A Match? I would start screaming too haha

When he mentioned Chick Corea at my first thundercat concert ever I didn't know who he was and I felt like the worst fan ever
