Jim, the reason you started writing books reminded me of Ted Reed and his book "Syncopation". He wrote these exercises for his students. It has become the quintessential book for reading, jazz drumming independence(Thanks to Alan Dawson, a Berklee teacher). I just got the first PC book, and look forward to checking out the rest of your library. Thank you!

Jim, I'm glad you posted this video. I was actually looking at your books a few days ago. To be honest I am intimidated by the music notation, and wrote them off. If I decide to take the plunge, do I need to do the sight reading books before I plunge into the genre specific books? I think I am wanting to get into the R&B book. Thanks for the advice.

Wes, No, just get the book you want. Besides, the R&B book has audio for each example.
