Of course, I'm 3 years late, but thank you for the excellent tutorial! replacing the screen was a breeze, following your instructions; just one little detail I'd like to point out: I was able to remove the camera cable without having to remove the dcn board, by just tilting the fan upwards, after removing the top left and bottom screws and unscrewing the top right one, a bit; that gave me enough room to pull the camera cable out; thank you for making this video available!

I really did not want to buy a new laptop for 1000$ and I am so happy that there are still tutorials out there for me on my old MacBook Air mid 2012. I saved 400$ doing it myself.
PS. It doesn’t look like I messed anything up but I did not have to remove the fan or speaker connector. I just removed the Wi-Fi connector and the 2 connector on the side.

Excellent step by step explanation with the precise tools needed. I felt a lot of confidence to do this mysfelf after watching the video. Watch out with those finicky cables, two or three of them are quite fragile.

Replaced the screen thanks to the video. Also, not sure if it was worth removing the DC-in board

Miguel T I took it to the store because I am not sure what’s wrong with it. They said it will take 400 dollar to fix it & to get a new LCD. But I am not sure if I even need a new LCD because like u said the Ribbon might be upside down

@@jannajeehan2771 hey, just to let u know, even a very fine hairline damage in the lcd either visible or internal damage can cause this issue that u r having including lines, discolouration, grey patches etc Meaning the lcd is damaged even if it looks prestine from outside. I would say the drop or any impact it had been through.
The cost of replacement offcourse depends upon the repairer but u definitely need a new lcd. Trust me I used to fix phone's lcds for living.
I hope it helps anyone in confusion.
      Peace.
