Nice job on the repair Arno! It's really incredible how hard apple makes it to fix a simple issue, even on their older machines. Glad you got it working!
Thank you!! Just take your time, do your research, be careful and last but not least stay focused. You can do it! At the time, for me, this task was a nerve-racking experience because back then this was actually my main machine, but looking back, it wasn't all that bad or hard to do. Greetings from Belgium!
I tried to search out the black screen everywhere but didn't find it. So, where do you get that. Plz, tell me or share the link of the website. U did really a nice job.
Well done. I trew away by mistake the metal bar that holds the screen. Any ideas about where to find it? My backlight does not turn on. I've tried everything. =/
It won’t be easy finding one of those. You’ll probably have to find a donor machine for that. The metal bar hides the individual LEDs on the bottom. If you don’t use one you’ll have a couple of bright spots on the bottom of the screen. It should work without the bar though. The backlight not working is a whole different problem. Try unplugging the backlight flex cable and then plugging it back in the other way around, that’s usually it (common mistake people make).

Not sure I'm up to this task, but what a great step-by-step set of instructions. Impressive!

Just look up ‘’MacBook Air A1466 LCD’’. There are loads of options. Try to get an new (original) one or a (n original) donor.

Great 👍
Thank you! Cheers!
What year is the laptop?
I think it was a 2017. Basically the 2015 model that they sold up until 2017-2018.
I have the same laptop 😆
Nice head hair.
It is much better to get the new complete assembly and start to open from the bottom of the laptop.
It’s better based on what facts? People usually replace the entire thing because they don’t have the skills to only replace the LCD…
Why don't you take that dirt off the screen? clean it up
You amuse me lol. The new screen was clean...
Get rid of the music. Not needed.
