    Had some corrosion under the logic board so I removed it (with your help) and cleaned it with isopropyl and a tooth brush. Works like a charm now. Battery was working and charging but it wasn't powering up no matter what I did. It would power on with the power cable plugged in and the battery unplugged so I knew I was onto something. Great quick vid. Very helpful for noobs like me.

      Hey! I had the same issue and I'm wondering if I can clean it like you did in this commen tor if the logic board needs to be replaced. For A WHILE it wouldn't only power on with the cable plugged but not nothing (even though the orange light is on).

      @@ambergriffin3265 Absolutely. It was very easy. The corrosion was from water damage but luckily it didn't damage very much! Try it out. This vid is easy to follow.

    This worked great for me, except mine had an extra 7th screw holding the very edge of the heat sink down, which was necessary to remove to pull out the logic board. Thank you for this tutorial.

    Yo, I would like to thank you for an awesome tutorial! Spilled juice on my Mac and knew for a fact it went to the logic board. Long story short, I followed this tutorial thoroughly and was able to remove my logic board , give it a thorough cleaning and then reassembled it with no problems what so ever. With the right tools this tutorial is all you need.. Thanks again. You now have a new subscriber!

      MrVayga88 similar reason I’m here. But at least I didn’t spill the (luckily) water on it. Did you check the contacts for the SSD and the WIreless module, on top of the logic board?

    Thanks for your very clear tutorial, I tried to remove the damaged logic board myself, but it didn't come off at once while at the heatsink extension, there is still a T5 screw that needs to be removed which is half hidden under the wifi/bluetooth cable, just be aware...
    Still a good tutorial!

    I appreciate the mechanical upload, just a quick clarification question. Is there any software pairing that needs to be done on the new logic board or on this model is it pretty much plug and play? Thanks in advance!

    I was wondering, since the motherboard dimensions and wifi. bluetooth, speakers etc locations are the same (pretty much) from 2012 to 2017, can I replace the motherboard of my macbook air 13" 2013 with one of 2017? Essentially for updating the intel processor.

    Hey I m in huge problem .. while replacing the dc/power board on my logic board , I accidentally broke the port/stand on which the right speaker cable rests(pried it out). The right speaker doesn't function now and since it's embedded with the logic board I am afraid if there is any hack to get it to work or not; I can't afford to buy a logic board at the moment. Can you pls suggest me some solution. Can this port b fixed somehow? 😟 Model :mid 2014 a1398

    Hi ~ everything was going okay until: after removing the 6 T5 screws from the logic board, the board still seems to be attached at the right end of the thin black bar on the upper right, just above where the fan was. I can't see any visible screws there ~ but am nervous to try and force it loose. Any suggestions?

    • @GRIBSOFT
      @GRIBSOFT  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      No you don’t. It’s UEFI and so the operating system on the ssd will detect the new board and on startup will load a new profile for the system and so you don’t need to do anything. If you have a very old OS X like lion installed it might not load in a 2015+ board because of legacy architecture issues but that’s a rare scenario.

    I have an emc 2925 macbook air with a dead logic board.I also happen to have a an emc 2469 macbook air from 2011 with a cracked screen .
    Can i swap the the logic board from emc 2469 to emc 2925 ? or else
    take the screen from emc 2925 and install it on the emc 2469 (i don't need the face time camera connection)?
    will the LVDS connector be an issue?

    Are the A1466 logic boards all the same?

    • @perspectiveflip
      @perspectiveflip 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      As far as I can tell they are interchangeable but have different configurations like different ghz, different processor generations or different ram count. It seems like they are all compatible but can be slower/faster depending on the specific configuration.
