I'm just curious though, having a successful Amazon business, what do you consider your single greatest challenge in running your business right now? And how do you deal with it? I'd be glad to hear from you. Thanks!
Team thanks for this question! I would say the single biggest challenge is inventory management. When you add in the shipping cost changes, risk of holding too much stock, and varying lead times, this is one of the toughest aspects to get right. This is why I have quite a bit of 3PL content as that helps but it's still a challenge. If I could add another, it would be Amazon support, I do wish they provided better support, this would give sellers more confidence, lessen risk and also ease inventory management somewhat because, personally, I would feel happier going with larger orders, knowing Amazon has my back if something strange happens with a listing. Unfortunately, I have had a few listing issues/notices/legal things, where Amazon really couldn't be bothered, resulting in vast amounts of stranded inventory (and locked up capital). This again is why inventory management crossed with risk management is one of the toughest aspects. I have had to re-start one listing from scratch 3 times, while juggling down time with that batch of inventory. On the bright side, each time was successful, I think showing that you can make products successful even once markets are more competitive - But these experiences leave their mark and always make me run risk analysis before big orders.
