That was basically me trying to use Kinect voice commands for Skyrim. You were supposed to be able to say the dragon shouts and they would happen in game, but nothing ever happened.

@@jonathann.5754 I think Zelda could be considered a little hit or miss, depending on who you ask. I personally can't stand most of the 2D Zelda's, though I love all the 3D ones. Some people didn't like the aesthetic of Wind Waker, others didn't like the time mechanics/restrictions of Majora's Mask, some didn't like how dark Twilight Princess was, and others didn't like motion controls of Skyward Sword. Even BotW, some people didn't like the lack of story.
But you can't please everyone, I suppose.

Nintendo has been having something of a renaissance. I'm more hopeful to see a return to form than I have been in years.

Fire Emblem Warriors. I'd loved Hyrule Warriors and was so excited for FEW, but it was just so bland. They took away the things that made HW interesting and replaced it with the character switching mechanic that just made the game more tedious, meanwhile the characters only had one weapon and most of them shared a moveset with someone else. The roster could've been a highlight with characters from all across the series, but instead it's almost entirely Awakening and Fates with only three other games of the remaining 13 seeing any representation whatsoever.

I expected some spicy takes, but I actually ended up agreeing with a majority of your choices! 1-2 Switch felt like a glorified shovelware title, and the fact that they had the gall to charge $60 for it rather than bundling it with the Switch...ha!
As for Metroid Other M...it’s a decent action game, but my god doesn’t it butcher Samus’s character and leave a dark stain on an otherwise great franchise.
Anyways, one of my own most disappointed Nintendo games is Fire Emblem Warriors. After how solid and great Hyrule Warriors was, I was at least expecting FE Warriors to *somewhat* live up to it. But after having a shallow roster that doesn’t even cover a third of the games in the series, locking NPCs behind DLC and making said DLC only have *more* characters from the same games, it really left a sour taste in my mouth. Doesn’t help that most of the characters are copy-pasted derivatives of eachother, as if this game took a page outta Smash but cranked it up to an 11.
It’s a shame too, because this game mixes together Musou gameplay and FE mechanics so well and has tons of replay value due to all the weapons and armors you can unlock. But like I said in my review of it on IG, it’s an amazing game hidden behind a dev team that had little to no passion for what they were doing...
It's funny (or sad) with 1-2 Switch because Nintendo is laughing all the way to the bank with that one. It's sold over 2 million copies so it definitely has made quite the profit considering that the game probably didn't even have a production budget over $10,000.
LoomDoom That’s not too surprising considering it was a Switch launch title, albeit slightly disappointing.
I am still incredibly salty about sticker star to this day and love feeling validated when I hear other people talk about how disappointing it is.

Same. My heart breaks every time I remember its existence and the impact it's made to the Mario RPG world.
Fawful's Minions did a Blessed or Messed video on it, and I'm sure a lot of people already know how Chuggaaconroy feels about the game.
You nailed the #1 pick. I remember struggling with the first boss, only to look up a guide and learn that I HAD to grab the fan sticker in order to win. At that point I knew the game was trash. To add insult to injury were the interview about the game where they pretty much dashed all hopes of returning Paper Mario to its OG format.
On a separate note: I actually enjoyed Other M. The story or dialogue were bad, but I thought the game itself was fun

I bought Luigi's Mansion on the 3DS and had a good time at first, but after a while I started to question how in god's name Nintendo expected you to aim using the little nub of a C-stick the system has. It became frustrating not being able to react to things in time because of that. Could have benefited from a Zelda-esque targeting system.

I got a 3ds day one for my birthday. Had 1 game for a year, bought Sticker Star and thought it was painfully average. Marvel vs Capcom Infinite taught me disappointment though.

Regarding #7: Is it a bad sign that Starlink for Switch feels like a better Starfox game than Starfox Zero? Heck, it was already a better planet exploration game than No Man's Lie...
Regarding #3: Am I the only one who thinks this would've been a better game if the story was removed/rewritten? Seriously...those up close attacks were AWESOME! I would've loved to fight some Prime bosses with that control scheme!
Regarding #1: I am reminded of some lines from one of joshscorcher's vids...about the creation of Mimi from Super Paper Mario and wondering whether Miamoto was high or something when he came up with her. "Noooooooooo...it's good! Wait...is that a sticker? I HAVE AN IDEA!" (several months later) "I came up with WHAT?!?"
While it's still relatively fresh, there's a reason that when Samus was put in Joker's Clssic mode, they used Mass Destruction.

I think around the time dark moon came and link between world came out, the 3ds got itself out of the rut it was in. I did quite enjoy dark moon but I think it is what caused my old 3ds circle pad too be not as stable.

I believe StarFox Zero works better as a 2-player game. Like a reverse Battle Toads.
I feel it's worth noting that Team Ninja isn't responsible for the stupider of the decisions in Other M, as they're often unfairly attributed with. Sakamoto had full creative control, and was behind things like Wii-Mote only controls and Samus sounding wooden in the English version.

To be fair, the fact that more than half of the games on this list are still really good is a positive statement on Nintendo's track record.
I don't know, Luigi's Mansion is probably the only game in here that is good, and maybe StarFox Zero and Other M if you don't care about story or controls, the rest of the games are trash.

For me it’s Pokémon X and Y. The whole game felt soulless and way too easy with the weakest post game since Ruby and Sapphire. I found mega evolutions wasn’t given to the right Pokémon as most were already powerful. While Pokémon that could actually benift from Megas (ones that were weak but their evolution method made it impossible to give them actual evolutions) like Decatty, Raichu and Sunflora were passed over. And the abysmal story was accentuated as it was coming off the heals of Generation V which had made great strides in the series’ stories. Thankful most of my issues were fixed in ORAS and Sun and Moon
Ilitterally couldn't be disappointed with it seeing as how it was my first pokemon game lol I don't find it as bad ws some say but what do you mean by 'heals of gen V'? that sounds like series was damaged or something and gen V fixed it

I remember the time I tried Sticker Star for the very first time. It was the year it came out and I played it at the Nintendo Holiday Mall Tour event. It was only like five or ten minutes I played and I felt that something was really off. Granted I haven’t played TYYD in years at the time, but Sticket Star felt off to me somehow, but I thought nothing of it at the time.
I got my 3DS a year later on Christmas and started getting the games I wanted on it, but not once did Sticker Star even come to mind as one I need to get. In fact, Tales of the Abyss was my only 3DS game until Fire Emblem Awakening came out, which was a long period of time. Heck, even as I started filling out my library after I got Awakening, I didn’t even think about getting Sticker Star and it felt bizarre. I thought it could be just because of the awesome games that kept coming or getting introduced to that I kept pushing Sticker Star to the backburner.
It wasn’t until the 1 year anniversary of getting my 3DS when I learned through discussion why Sticker Star felt off when I tried it out all those years ago. Wow, I was slow.

I’m surprised Fire Emblem Fates wasn’t on here. The Conquest pathway has amazing gameplay, the music is great, and some of the characters are good. But oh god everything else is very eh

You had expectations for that game? Even as a hardcore Pokemon fanboy during the DS era, Pokemon Dash just looked like filler from the start for me.

@@ToiletPkay The difference was, Mystery Dungeon looked more interesting in general even from the commercials. Like a full-fledged game rather than a glorified minigame like Dash or Trozei.

1:00 so I'm watching this on my roku when I decided to pause this video around here to go to the bathroom. It's a good thing I was the only one home at the time because if someone walked into my room with THIS image on my 40" tv things might've been a bit awkward.
Remember seeing the Paper Mario preview with the card level and your Chain Chomp partner? that was the reason I bought a 3DS.

Indeed, especially Other M whose only really big flaw is it’s story
I did not stop halfway through sticker star but the pokey boss made me use a guide and my god, i think I would have stopped if not for that guide. Not only does the game like to force you to waste away your items but if you die, you are back to your last save point. It feels doubly punishing in a game all about trial and error.
I found the metroid series with other M, to me its one of my favorite games, i was so happy i was able to beat the game in a week when i was young
Is it bad that Kirby Planet Robobot made a better Star Fox game for a small part of the game :p

Red Steel multiplayer is super fun when you see someone in the distance and then use the sword to zoom at supersonic speed to them and stun them.
I find it odd that the one good thing Jwittz has to say about Other M is the controls. I feel like the controls are the games biggest issue - yes, even more than the story, which can at least be ignored. The controls though, you can't get away. Hold the controller sideways for most play. That's fine for a 2d platform, but this is navigating a 3d space a lot of the time. It can make things real awkward. I also remember there being a number of annoying button combinations to press to do certain things. But then for 3d segments you need to point the controller at the screen - and since this is a fast paced action game, you need to rapidly change your grip mid battle, fire a few specific shots or missiles in 3d, then swap back to sideways controller to actually move again after.
I feel like the games controls could have become almost bearable if the Wii had some kind of accessory you can plug in and hold in your left hand, that have you an analogue stick and a few extra buttons, so you could have a much more easily usable control scheme. Some kind of nunchuck shaped thing, perhaps. But obviously that would be too easy, there was nothing like that which was compatible with Other M.
