I remember beating Champion's road with my 3 siblings and dad. It took us forever but we were proud of ourselves. When we beat the level it was the best gaming moment I remember.

My little brother is autistic, and you know how autistic people have a few things that they are VERY good at? Yea, for my brother, one of those things is MARIO. He's beat the crown level from Super Mario 3D Land at least a million times. I haven't even gotten that far in the game yet. I'm proud enough that he got all the star coins and beat all the levels to get to the level, but he also managed to beat the level itself. He has the special limited edition "Mario 3DS" that is red and comes with Super Mario 3D Land pre-downloaded, and he has played the HECK out of that game. On my account I have, like, 11 or 12 lives saved up. But NOOO! He has the MAXIMUM AMOUNT OF LIVES POSSIBLE. EVER. He has it where it says like 'crown crown crown' for the lives or whatever. l don't even know how much that is, never mind how to get it!!! Whenever I have trouble with a level on a Mario game I give it to him and come back like half an hour later to see that he's beaten the rest of the world for me. At least the kid is sweet, I'll give him that much =^w^=
Ah, The Perfect Run. Easily the most difficult thing I've played in any game ever. It took me about a hundred tries to beat (yes, I kept track). When I finally did finish it, I was overwhelmed with joy and relief... and I'm probably never going to play it again. XD
Pika Pika Chu you know, that secret project Nintendo is working on that is supposed to be their next big piece of hardware. Supposedly going to be another gimmicky console that will be even weaker than the Wii-U.
I feel that this is our way of showing support for the man who gave me all my childhood, and who has always been nice and all he has hardly ever got is hate and disrespect from the community.
I can do just fine on the more recent games, which is understandable, considering the lack of difficulty in most of today's games, but seriously, all those old Mario games are too tedious. Jump, run, jump again, run again, do a few trick jumps, go down a secret shortcut, get a secret item that isn't very secret, and avoid enemies in the process. Now that I hear this out loud, this sounds like every game in existence. Except Captain Toad and LoZ games.
Crown - Crown was one hell of a night streaming for me. I had played through and 100%'d the entire game up to this level, and managed to beat it in multiplayer with a good buddy of mine. Had a good ole` time all together, but one day a week later I decided it'd be a good idea to try and stream the hardest level with a handicap. Sat down, started OBS, messed with the Hotpocket (Which is what we at The Block affectionately call my Hauppauge) until it started working, and then I started it. One long night of me attempting to beat the level with every character without the assistance of power-ups. It ended up being Luigi, if I recall correctly, that was the easiest for me. In fact, once I beat the level with everyone I think Luigi overall is my favorite character in the game at this point. Long Story slightly short, I love that level. And hate it.
What the heck, am I the only one who thought the Pachinko machine was just fine? There are way harder levels in Sunshine, more specifically any of the Secret levels when you can't use F.L.U.D.D.
+Daniel Bremmer Maybe it didn't glitch out for you. The physics is the only thing that makes that level hard. Most of the levels where you can't use FLUDD are the real hard levels.
eh sometimes it's not that big of a difference for me, although i should probably start since 60fps makes everything look so good now, especially older games, gone are the days of sprites not displaying when they flicker

Kirby single handedly handed my backside to me on a silver platter with this boss to this day im always reduced to low health with Pyribbit so idk what was going through hal labs minds when it was created (hellspawn)
***** yeah coily rattler was easy because i kept the bell power up and you become invincible to most attacks whilst protecting like his role, tail slam and squeeze but you still need to physically dodge the falling parts of him and combo the head thats not as easy to protect against (if memory serves) but yeah pyribbit could never ever dodge that tounge attack ever to this day i cant dodge it
Maxwell Smasher Queen Sectona is actually quite easy if you grab the fighter ability. Just spam hero's uppercut at the eyeball things. you become invincible and do high damage every time you hit.

In Super Mario 3, in Bowser's World, you can swim UNDER the ships in that scary-looking red water and avoid pretty much everything, but just don't let Mario (whom you cannot see down there) swim too low - just keep swimming!! I love those levels from the Star Worlds with Gnarly and Way Cool and Tubular and Mondo! Completing those bad-boys was satisfying... Also, Super Mario All-Stars Lost Levels night levels have the prettiest backgrounds. :)
How to fix the tedious ones: Pachinko: Give you the ability to miss the jump twice without dying Airships: Allow you to jump on the wrenches Tubular: Make the balloons last longer C3: Give you an indicator to where mario is while airborne

A few other really hard parts in Mario Sunshine is when you need to water the electric ooze outside the haunted hotel, that was so hard, and gave my thumb a blister. Mario Sunshine has a bunch of super hard levels.
Aiai man this level is so frustrating every time you fell you have a chance of OVER 9000 TO LOSE (of course i am kidding the chances increase every time you go up)especially the flying castle (oh man) especially this....STUPIDE FLAME THAT BURN YOU AND MAKING YOU LOSE THE CONTROLE OF YOU CHARACTER (i have to calm down)
The thing about Champion's Road is that it feels easier than the Perfect Run with the right set-up. If you go as Peach or Rosalina with Tanooki Suits, it's relatively forgiving, actually. Sure, not losing the suits is difficult, but the amount of bottomless pits you don't have to worry about anymore is so relieving. Playing with Toad and no power-ups though...*shudder.
I'll give you a thumbs up, that one level called Tubular, that was a really tough level and I just about gave up on it and then I finally finished it, and also those packs that you said you wasn't gonna touch again, don't worry, i'm not gonna touch them at all because they look too challenging to me so i'm gonna take your word for it!
For a long time, the hardest level I had ever seen was Beat Block Double Time from Galaxy 2. It took me literal years to muster up the galaxy skill to beat it. For those who don't know, it's essentially the flashing block segment of world crown-crown from 3D World, but the last half was nonlinear. It consisted of a checkerboard pyramid of alternating blocks, flipping every 2 seconds, and you had to jump around on it, collecting silver stars. I don't own 3D World yet, but I doubt I'll be able to take on crown-crown when I do.
For number 7, my strategy was to start the level with both the Penguin Suit and Invincible Star, then I would use the Star power to take out as many Piranha Plants as possible before it wears off while having good traction on the ice. It worked!
+WLord 1310 the original is impossible. 90 degree turns with no walls and thwomps that spin you out and make you lose all of your coins even if you touch them.
In the original NES version of SMB 3, you could swim under the water ships and come out at the end. They fixed that for the Super Mario All-Stars version of the game. I usually just used a P-Wing to get through the sky airship.
Mario Sunshine pachinko machine is not that hard when you know how it works... its all based on scripted fall paths, and you are not supposed to be in there with the hover nozzle, its supposed to be the rocket nozzle... point is. when you try to adjust your fall wit hthe nozzle, it shifts the scripted falls and nearly every time you will miss fall and die... if you just used the rocket, and free fall normaly, the script paths will take you straight to each red coin 100x easier...
DukeApples My thought on that level was that it was more just tedious and broken rather than "hard". I guess I was kinda right. That's very interesting to know though.
While Sunshine's pachinko level certainly is frustrating, it can't hold a candle to that stupid lily pad level... I understand that half the frustration there is the length of the runback, but still... It's the stuff of nightmares.
Super Mario 3D Land is such a cute, fun, and quick game to play... until they throw that bonus level at you at the end. I was definitely not expecting that huge and sudden increase in difficulty. Took me a long time to beat it.

Aiai man this level is so frustrating every time you fell you have a chance of OVER 9000 TO LOSE (of course i am kidding the chances increase every time you go up)especially the flying castle (oh man) especially this....STUPIDE FLAME THAT BURN YOU AND MAKING YOU LOSE THE CONTROLE OF YOU CHARACTER (i have to calm down)

The thing about Champion's Road is that it feels easier than the Perfect Run with the right set-up. If you go as Peach or Rosalina with Tanooki Suits, it's relatively forgiving, actually. Sure, not losing the suits is difficult, but the amount of bottomless pits you don't have to worry about anymore is so relieving. Playing with Toad and no power-ups though...*shudder.

I have no idea how I completed Champion's Road with all 5 characters, but couldn't even come close to finishing The Perfect Run.

I'll give you a thumbs up, that one level called Tubular, that was a really tough level and I just about gave up on it and then I finally finished it, and also those packs that you said you wasn't gonna touch again, don't worry, i'm not gonna touch them at all because they look too challenging to me so i'm gonna take your word for it!

Something that I feel might’ve been an honorable mention is Cosmic Cannon Cluster from 3D World. That level just really grinds my gears.
For a long time, the hardest level I had ever seen was Beat Block Double Time from Galaxy 2. It took me literal years to muster up the galaxy skill to beat it. For those who don't know, it's essentially the flashing block segment of world crown-crown from 3D World, but the last half was nonlinear. It consisted of a checkerboard pyramid of alternating blocks, flipping every 2 seconds, and you had to jump around on it, collecting silver stars. I don't own 3D World yet, but I doubt I'll be able to take on crown-crown when I do.

For number 7, my strategy was to start the level with both the Penguin Suit and Invincible Star, then I would use the Star power to take out as many Piranha Plants as possible before it wears off while having good traction on the ice. It worked!

+WLord 1310 the original is impossible. 90 degree turns with no walls and thwomps that spin you out and make you lose all of your coins even if you touch them.

In the original NES version of SMB 3, you could swim under the water ships and come out at the end. They fixed that for the Super Mario All-Stars version of the game. I usually just used a P-Wing to get through the sky airship.

Mario Sunshine pachinko machine is not that hard when you know how it works... its all based on scripted fall paths, and you are not supposed to be in there with the hover nozzle, its supposed to be the rocket nozzle... point is. when you try to adjust your fall wit hthe nozzle, it shifts the scripted falls and nearly every time you will miss fall and die... if you just used the rocket, and free fall normaly, the script paths will take you straight to each red coin 100x easier...

While Sunshine's pachinko level certainly is frustrating, it can't hold a candle to that stupid lily pad level... I understand that half the frustration there is the length of the runback, but still... It's the stuff of nightmares.
Super Mario 3D Land is such a cute, fun, and quick game to play... until they throw that bonus level at you at the end. I was definitely not expecting that huge and sudden increase in difficulty. Took me a long time to beat it.
I still don't understand how special8-crown is difficult to any extent
