@The Obsessive Gamer - At 10:47 that's not a unique Gerudo model, that's the same Gerudo in OOT that opens the gate to the Haunted Wasteland after climbing the ladder.

In regards to Zelda's backflip, it looks like the same animation as what the skullkids in oot used. They probably imported some skullkid animations to Zelda since they play the flute, easier than rigging something new.
Couple of thoughts.
1. The carpenter's wife was the most terrifying thing I've ever seen.
2. It's cool to see Zelda may have been another npc that maybe wasn't actually Zelda, just a doppelganger like the other characters.
3. I would've loved to see the Ganondorf model in the game as like a kindly helpful character.
4. This was a great series! I can't wait to see the Wind Waker one!
Both a Zelda/Ganondorf counterpart could have been really neat. Imagine Ganondorf being more a lacky at the Pirates Fortress instead lol Glad you enjoyed it!
Ganondorf was planning for the fishing in majora mask 3d in 2015
my new head cannon is that Termina Ganon is a mama's boy that travels to get ingredients for the witch sister's potion shop.

Speaking of the Kokiri Sword, I always wondered why Link would’ve taken a relic that didn’t actually belong to him and modified it without the Kokiri tribe’s permission. Thankfully, the fan game The Missing Link decided to explain this, as Link has the OoT Kokiri Sword at the start of that game and the MM version turns out to be his old friend Saria’s, who (spoiler alert) was mortally wounded by that game’s big baddie and by the time Link returns to Kokiri Forest, she’s bound her life essence to her blade in order to hang around until Link arrives so she could warn him of the impending threat.

There's still the cut Deku Palace grottos too from the Japanese 1.0 version. They're still in the data for the game's underground. But the holes associated with them are replaced with Rupees.
Oh I am aware. I don't consider that cut content personally since that is in a released version of the game, but more just a regional difference. I can always do a regional/version difference video on the N64 Zelda games in the future on this matter.

I think that Gerudo lieutenant is in Ocarina, you only see her when Link is a child.

Yeah was surprised at how many of them still functioned perfectly and didn't simply break the game
The unused fence looks like it was just a leftover from OoT, since it's the same one used around the outside of Hyrule Castle, where you wake up Talon.
The closing of that bank shutter animation is so damn clean. 👌
Gotta say I really love Taels touch up in the final release, it’s the only fairy that looks… evil I guess?
Yeah I think purple fit it best, but yet it I never thought it was evil. He definitely did go against Majora
I actually preferred the navy blue Tael. It was so different than all the other fairy colors we've seen. I guess his magenta color is too, but I prefer the blue. 🤷♂️
@@andyq524 I mean navy blue being my fav colour would be my obvious choice, but I would that version of Tael refined to have the final games glow
maybe they realized that the blue color doesn't show up right in some cutscenes

This was so cool! I actually loved the lily pads and reeds in the clock town ponds. I also always thought the green and silver buffer was a likelike for the longest time!
Yeah honestly those lilypads look good in town. Almost say that the frogs should have been relocated there lol. Yeah it is like-like shape lol

I love seeing all this stuff. Majora's Mask was my favorite Zelda game so far so this series of Majora's Mask videos has been a treat. Wind Waker is another of my top 3 so really looking forward to it!
Interestingly enough, the "mouths replacing eyes" thing also happens with Link in OoT during the weirdshot glitch sometimes.

I don't know if Goron Link was ever going to use the Megaton Hammer, it could of been a placeholder for punching before the text graphic was made. But he COULD of used it too

The first time I played this game was back in 2000-2002 through an early N64 emulator becouse it was the only way I could have access to it, I spent weeks learning how to configurate it and then I had to choose between OoT and MM (never heard of this games before, only knew about a big 3D Zelda game). OoT didin't loaded well so I started playing Majora's Mask and I was hooked for ever.
20 years later I'm playing BOTW on Switch and watching your videos for that nostalgic feel, thank you!

These are so cool to see, like peering into a dream-like backroom state of my favourite game.
Seriously, you are amazing at compiling and explaining all this info and what could have meant in the game's devolpment and the path the game could have taken... It is so fascinating to wonder how the game would have been have they chose to use some of this beta content instead of the final version counterparts.
Anyway, as you said, they decided to not use or to change all of this content for a reason and I bet it was for the best.

14:55 While the Hylian Link mask is an interesting concept, I think it was a better choice to have cut it, since it's pretty much accepted that the transformation masks require the death of someone to work. A Link mask would've thrown one hell of a wrench into that.

That was an amazing video! I knew about some of the cut content stuff, but some was definitely new for me. Like always, I like your theories about why certain objects were cut :) My favorite is Zelda's backflipping animation. That was amazing XD
VERY excited for Wind Waker, it has probably the biggest cut content in any Zelda game!
I remember when my dad got Majora's Mask for the first time and he had to get the bulky memory card double pack to play it. But when I played around in the Lost Woods at the beginning of the game. I went into first person view and as soon as I looked back toward the starting point near the tree stump, I saw Ganondorf on his black horse. The horse had that animation when Epona would collide into a fence from an angle, but I got scared back then and shut the game off. I wish I could get him to appear again, but I think it was either a glitch that made him show up, or because I was little and didn't know exactly what I was looking at.

Even though it's very likely that the hammer was nothing more than a placeholder, I feel like that actually would have been a very fitting weapon for Goron Link to use considering that the megaton hammer was, according to Darunia, used by an ancient Goron hero. But I could see why they would have given Goron Link some unique abilities instead, since the hammer's moveset is very similar to that of the basic sword. For the sake of variety, it was probably for the better.
It actually would have been cool if Zelda tagged along for the ride with Link in search for Navi and just hung around Clock Town enjoying the festivities herself not knowing the world is about to be destroyed due to rushing ahead, that would give Link a stake in this game as well

Theory: you were saying the whole thing about the elevator with the Triforce on it and how it wouldn't have made sense but they had the Zelda's Lullaby effect showing originally you had to learn Zelda's Lullaby to use the elevator maybe to get up to the 3rd day Carnival of Time building like how you use Zelda's Lullaby to use The Great Fairy's in OOT and the water raising in the water temple. EDIT:
To add to my theory the pedestal with the Triforce on it was most likely to be how you learnt Zelda's Lullaby.

One thing I wish they didn't cut was the Adult Link mask...
It would've conflicted with the transformation masks' demonstration of needing someone to die for them to work. Still would've been cool as a dumb bonus non-canon secret or cheat minigame.

The fence was originally used as fence arround the observatory
Seeing as Zelda had so many animations and as you said it could've been a duo thing they could've just not found a use for her in game so it could've been replaced by the duo Kafei and Link Sakon's lair quest.

Actually the link mask is supposed to be how Young Link turns into a adult though this was supposedly changed for the Fierce Deity mask later.
Not sure why it would be on skull kid unless it's supposed to signify the mask trade done later in the game
It'd be funny if the bubbles (the Jabu ones) were originally gonna be put in Termina at night but then someone said add the bubbles in so the dev guy added the bubbles. (skulls)

the beta models of the twins at 10:00 look like the 2 men in The Wind Waker on Windfall Island who lost their daughters and switched wealth

Uh there are still several hidden grottos in the game and if you had a rumble pack, it would shake near them. Same goes fir playing on the GameCube version. It also rumbles around hidden important chests.

Nintendo explained that they used the same exact engine that they made for Ocerina of Time. They explained partly why the item to push Link game was still in the game. They even referenced that kt was fun to play around with during the development of the game.
