It makes sense that the balcony be fully utilised but resistance often come from fussy MCST who do not allow ziptrack as the deckings/structure is permanent and also the colour needs to match with condo external facade. 😔😪
Haven't come across one that don't allow Ziptrack. Colour match is not a problem let smart zip settle for u
Property owner needs to apply approval (including the colour) with the details of the contractor or company from the MCST before the work . Mostly no problem.
Exactly! i second to it! most of the time i felt living in a condo is like living in a COMMUNIST country ...........this and that cannot! nabey! as if our place of living came in cheap!

Hi, i have been following thru ur reno journey. thanks for intro all e interesting products. 1 Q in me is tat the vendors that appear in ur videos; R they your sponsors or you personally noe them are reliable and trustworthy vendors?
Some gave some discount here and there. However there are others that offer me better deals but I didn't choose them. But I think the deals is the not the objective of the series. So the vendors are choose according to what I prefer. Since I am using them to renovate my house. Don't want my house to be in a mess too.
But my contractor that handle my other renovation like carpentry is fully paid by myself.

The sliding doors of the balcony may be part of the unique design of the building . It’s better to ask the approval from the MCST before any change or removal.
Anyone had engaged this contractor for your Balcony powered blinds, I am now looking for one but when google the reviews I saw many bad feedback for past few months :( Anyone in this group can share their experience on this. Thanks

There are some issues with these automatic motorised blinds which detect winds and rains as resistance and stop closing. Is this brand able to overcome this?
If you watch the 2nd part of the video the boss of smart zip explains the modifications he did to prevent such issues.
The rain drops will go to the blinder bottom tracks and will be leaded to the balcony drain （as the video described).
Mostly all auto blinder designs will let the closed blinders roll up by itself automatically during super strong winds (it seldom happens in Singapore) to avoid damage. Or sometimes it stops closing , or up & down adjusting itself automatically. We can manage it to close again by a remote control. All brands can solve the issues. The different is the better brand products may last for a longer life time.

I was talking to my smartzip installer.. He got friend work at the other big famous local manufacturer and his comment is that.. Actually, not much difference, except maybe the price. Just be careful. The installer say buy too cheap one get cheap stuff, if spoil need to redo. But buy more expensive the difference is not much also.
does Smartzip have lifetime warranty on motors and blind?
@@geloyap2901 warranty GAO GAO 5 years. Cos their factory here, can fix also it’s not the lousy type. Other places warranty 2 years because not readily available.
According to the worker la.. of course the sales may sell you, but worker got no incentive to say good things haha

Nope but shld be better than you didn't do. I think to a certain extent it will bring down sound too.
When zip track open, the traffic noise is about 62db. After closing, it is about 53db. Still can hear but more bearable.
