@nonstopdan INSANE, as you describe this review; I think it's INSANE that a video like this would be put out by you, a reviewer and aviation analyst, within less than 48 hrs of Singapore Airlines SQ321 LHR-SIN making an emergency landing at BKK due to extreme turbulence. Think of the terror and anguish of the passengers and their families during the events that unfolded. "Screams, chaos, blood on the floor" as some passengers described it (source: Guardian). The absolute terror people felt. The trauma this has caused. Geoffrey Kitchen, from Thornbury, England, who died in the incident. His family who likely hasn't had time to even mourn. Putting out content describing how much fun and enjoyment you had is INSANE. It is extremely insensitive given that so many passengers are, at the time of your post, still being treated for severe injuries. Geoffrey Kitchen's body hasn't been repatriated yet. Not even a mention by you in the description about the incident. INSANE that you think it's appropriate to publish this review, given you likely have several other reviews queued up for release. Calculated timing. INSANE indeed.

Just 2 things I wanted to comment on. Firstly, Dan's departure terminal. Basically, KLIA is split into two separated areas, domestic (which the main terminal covers and is home to Malaysia Airlines exclusively) and international (which is serviced by the satellite terminal). As Singapore is technically an international flight, obviously it boards its passengers from the satellite terminal. Secondly, and most importantly, addressing the turbulence incident on SQ321. The way people are talking about this, and I am pointing out 3 people in (so far) comments section, who are being very unfair to Singapore Airlines. Turbulence is a very common occurrence during any flight. What isn't common is that it is very turbulent let alone undetected during daylight hours. That common turbulence alone is the reason why most airlines ask you to remain buckled while in your seat as turbulence can be strong enough to make footing unstable while making your way around the cabin, as one might have to for various reasons, but short of being as bad as SQ321. If you feel that Singapore Airlines is at fault and you are afraid of it happening to you then feel free to fly on another airline or better yet don't fly at all. That is all.
you're posting wrong info austen98. The satellite terminal is for larger aircraft (widebody). The main terminal is for narrowbody aircraft. Other airlines also fly out of the main terminal. The domestic gates are the same as the international. A (domestic) = G (international) & B (domestic) = H (international). The gates are simply separated by floor, but they are the same physical gate, with doors and movable barriers to change the configuration from domestic to international.
The service is ensured to be top notch. SIA awarded the staff 8 months bonus for 2 years in a row now. People should have rushed to join this airline for the generous pay package
Man, the service is really insane on such a short flight. However, while I'm an avgeek by heart, I still hope that the Kuala Lumpur-Singapore HSR will see the light of day at some point in the not so distant future. A 90 minute train ride instead of the currently 5-6h trip would certainly open up more travel options for more people.
@@jessicaregina1956 What do you mean? I'm Singaporean and I go to Changi for both leisure (because the airport is built like a mall) and for travel (because it is one out of two airports we have, and the other service flights to only KL at the moment). I'm assuming that most people in our country don't go to Changi only because they live on the further end of Singapore, and the offerings in Changi and Jewel can be found in their neighbourhood malls. Why travel almost 2 hour down, when you can get what you need in 10mins or less.
As a Flight attendant, I’m having an anxiety attack with such crazy service on a 45 min flight. Absolutely ridiculous, the crew were lucky passengers were nice, but my passengers are an absolute nightmare to deal with
Another great short route SQ offers is the 5th freedom route from Milano Malpensa (MXP) to Barcelona El Prat (BCN). The flight is around 1h 30 min and the service on Business class is top-notch. The fares for business are often as cheap as an equivalent Easyjet/Ryanair route considering the seat selection, additional baggage and all that on the 2-way route. One thing I'll have to notice tho is that you will have to "roll back" to the medium level lounge at BCN since the nicer one is after the border checks, so if you are stopping at MXP you will not have access to that area.
My Cebu-San Francisco flight this summer had a connection in Tokyo that got canceled. Called United, waited an hour and a half, and got offered to be rebooked on SQ business class to Singapore. Never have I said yes over the phone faster
Can I just say how much I appreciate the fact you blur the cabin crews faces? In the modern day, a good number of people feel they have the right to shove a camera in anyone's face. It just shows a real level of respect. It says a lot of good about you mate.
There is basically ONLY ONE full service Turkish Airlines flight in Europe for business class similar to this. SKP - IST (or back). Full flight is less than 1 hour, so they rush to serve you and then take away the tray 20 mins later. Must experience!
Great review of an outstanding airline! I just took a few SQ flights. SYD-SIN 777-300ER, SIN-BKK 787-10, BKK-SIN A350-900 & SIN-SYD A380 - one itinerary covering all the SQ heavies! SQ is the best ❤️❤️
Good review; sadly devastating news for Singapore Airlines I hope their safety ratings don’t shrink because of the turbulence incident would disappointing to hear
I used to live in Kuala Lumpur as a kid, going to KLIA like twice every 6 months and just gotta say that Airplane collection thing is just simply beautiful, lovely seeing it again, where I stood just a few years back from this review
Using your points hack, I’ve just scored business class flights on an A350 with Singapore Airlines from Australia to Singapore for 1/2 price! And that was only using the tips from the free part of your Points Masted program. Unreal. Thank you! Can’t wait to see what I can learn from the full program before my next long haul booking.
You got pretty lucky on this flight from KL-SG. Most of these flights are on a short haul plane- with simple, slightly bigger business seats. This is amazing for a KL-SG flight.
Turbulence can happen on any airline. Singapore Airlines doesn’t control the weather. It’s great airline. Great crew, nice meal, good first flight. The food in that lounge was amazing. Nice second flight, glad you enjoyed it. By the way, I miss you and Iscar traveling together!.
Dan, Once again a great report and I just cant wait to fly Singapore Airways before I get even older!!! (72) I keep a check on flight prices and can't believe if I fly direct from LHR we are talking around £4k plus for a return flight B.C. but if I fly out via Oslo, prices drop by nearly half. Okay a bit of a pain but if you are saving nearly £2k its well worth it, especially as the second leg will be overnight, so surer you can catch up on lost sleep. Keep up the great work.
"KrisWorld". I remember a quarter century ago when Singapore introduced KrisWorld. The idea of having a personal TV on your seat back?? Not a rickety CRT TV hanging from the bulkhead 20 rows ahead of you? Astounding!
Love your videos. Always a standout among other airline reviews. Singapore Airlines Business Class has been my preferred carrier since the early 1990’s. Rarely disappointed (except a flight from Narita to LA when the meal service took over 2 hours??) Years ago on flights from LA to KL on the last leg up to KL they substituted a brand new plane they were just putting into service (per crew explanation), an A330. Obviously a significantly larger plane than the original one. Maybe 1/4 full, so you got a change to see everything! Very pleasant surprise!
Thanks to vlogs like this, I convinced myself to go for the higher standards. And guess what: SQ has very low prices out of Brussels. So … Changi here we come ! 😊
I flew Singapore to Bangkok on SQ back in 1996 on an A310 in economy and the service was excellent. I've flown them more recently of course, but only on flights 4hrs or longer since then, always great service.
That SIA long haul business class seat is still one of the most comfortable seats in the air. Just a little bit of a shame the tunnel for your feet is very tight, unless you get one of the bulkhead seats 👌
Love this! Singapore airlines have some great redemption rates too. I just booked Dubai to Bali via Singapore for only 56k points + $43.40! Very decent for about 9 hours in the air.
I'm a new viewer and my first thoughts of you were 'this guy is mad. he's so picky in the reviews and just pick any small details to rant about at times'. But that thought have changed and I perceived it in a different way -- you're a reviewer in the end and it's best and very honest to get ALL aspects of what you see/experience out to us. I'm a fan and thanks for posting! PS. I've also used your Emirates Eco seats review to book my seats in my next EK flight!
I think 1 hour turnover time is quite common in Asia for Wide Bodies, look at CX, JL, NH, BR, CI - they all have around 1 hour to 1.5 hour max for turnover…maybe just the efficiency and work culture difference?
Singapore Airlines do have the best service out of every airline I have flown. Can't wait to fly with them again soon if I can afford it as they are more expensive on our long haul flights compared to some other carriers.
3:14 Every time I see one of these huge model planes I keep thinking how much I'd love to buy one. Desktop size are easy to find but not these big ones.
SIA is my 2nd best airline to fly. 1st is ANA. Both are part of Star Alliance and the services are great even in economy. Asian airlines are very customer service focused. Something most North American and European Airlines are missing.
Amazing video of you flying on Singapore Airlines Dan. Hopefully you could do a trip report of Air Canada Singapore to Vancouver and Air Canada Bangkok to Vancouver.
I’ll be traveling to Singapore on KLM Business Class this summer. Unfortunately, I only get excited if it’s an A380. A350 is the consolation prize. Unfortunately, I’ll be on a 777-300 😢 Hopefully my Singapore trip is fun.
My business class experiences between SG>TOKYO on a380 have been *chefs kiss*. Took the SG>BKK in business and it was such a let down. Old, tired plane. Unfriendly air hostess, barely a smile. Felt like I was a burden was lucky to get a drink.
I already know people are gonna mention about the recent SQ321 incident…🙄😂 But that aside, I love Singapore Airlines! Living just next door in Malaysia, I’ve been lucky enough to fly them countless of times in and out from London. I take the advantage of being next door instead of flying direct with MAS or something haha, though recently I’m trying to fly on as many different airlines as possible. But Singapore is hard to beat. They never fail to disappoint! It’s always the little things with them! Great flight review as always, Dan! 🎉
I booked tickets on Singapore Airlines 2 days before the SQ321 inchident happened. I have 4 tickets booked on them now, one of them being on the 777-300ER.
@@OP38074 You do know that the incident happened because of weather conditions that caused the turbulence and not the plane or airline right? Clear air turbulence can occur to any plane, airlines and route. Just buckle in all the time when you're onboard.
@LC-zi8jw yup, I'm aware of that. I love aviation as u can probably tell by my name, but it's not the airline or plane that scares me. it's more so the fact that Clear Air turbulence can occur at any time anywhere
SIA changed cabin rules since the major turbulence incident and now crew must stop serving meals if seat belt sign is on. Greater chances now that short flights have interruptions or possibly do not serve meals at all.
I used to fly that route (except from Subang Airport as KLIA didn’t exist then) in the 1970s when I lived in KL as a teenager. On a 737. Things have changed a bit!
I'm pretty sure last time I flew out of KL and not just transiting there, that there was kind of train for the transfer from the main terminal to the satellite and not a bus. However that was back in 2007, since then I've just transferred flights at the satellite terminal. I do remember the awesome model planes in the main terminal.
Hi. Thanks for the review. I curious as to why you prefer the even numbered seat rows to the odd. I look forward to your reply as I’ll be flying in a few weeks🙏🏼
Hi Dan, sorry to bother you. I just had one quick question. Is it advisable to book a one-way flight to Europe from the US and then book a one-way flight back if you want to stay longer in Europe

Great video Dan! KUL-SIN is The World’s Busiest Air Route and the route is ESSENTIALLY to connecting Malaysia 🇲🇾 with its cultural “breakaway city” Singapore 🇸🇬 even though Singapore and Malaysia went their separate ways in the mid to late 1970s there is still a lot of cultural and economic crossover between the two nations (especially since Malaysia 🇲🇾 still sees Singapore 🇸🇬 as a “breakaway state” and not independent, although I won’t get into that mess it’s like China 🇨🇳 and Taiwan 🇹🇼 😬) Also, I remember last time when you flew from KUL to Medina 🇸🇦 on Saudi Arabian on their leased B747-400s from Air Atlanta Icelandic that had NO PICTURES ON IT AT ALL! It was an EPIC VIDEO and I LOVED IT! 😍 Always love a B747 video especially a funky video on a not really well know one! Also at 3:19 yeah, those aircraft models in KUL Airport are AMAZING! 🤩 I’d say that’s the best part of the airport she’s not a stunner like SIN Changi is but still looks pretty good (I say observationally as I’ve never been to either airport yet! 😂) Cheers mate also at 4:52 I always love seeing large wide body aircraft on short haul routes like the Singapore A350-900s and Japan Airlines 🇯🇵 A350-900s flying ONLY DOMESTIC ROUTES WITHIN JAPAN! It still BLOWS MY MIND! 🤯 Cheers my friend 🥂 Also plz follow my channel Caleb’s Aviation I just made a new video and I’d love to hear your opinion of it and have your support as a subscriber! It’d make my day! Thanks so much! -Caleb’s Aviation 😅
surprising that Singapore Airlines is keeping the long haul configuration for the KUL-SIN route. I suppose that explains why their ticket prices are by far the most expensive for plying that route
Hi Dan, Thanks for this review I also urge aviation youtubers to standby Singapore Airlines and the crew as the Pilot did a brilliant job and saved all except 1 May be you, Sam chui, Josh and others can issue a joint statement to do so
wait, is that jude and penny? omg never thought i'd see audrey and tim's little ones in your reviews! worlds colliding 🥹🫶 love the video as always, dan!
Hi Dan, a quick question - I love Changi airport, and one of the things they do is to have security only at the gates, so you cut down the wait time. Have you found this to be true in other airports? Most airports have a centralized security check before immigration...
No! No!! No!!! For a 45 minute fight….not worth it for me! I rather spend more of my money for a long haul flight so I can really enjoy the pleasure and luxury in business class or first class! AND IMMERSE MYSELF IN THE WHOLE EXPERIENCE OF THE AIRLINE’S SERVICE! To savor it as long as possible! Even when the flight is finished!

The absolute terror people felt. The trauma this has caused. Geoffrey Kitchen, from Thornbury, England, who died in the incident. His family who likely hasn't had time to even mourn.
Putting out content describing how much fun and enjoyment you had is INSANE.
Unfortunately, I’ll be on a 777-300 😢
Hopefully my Singapore trip is fun.
of all SQ business products their 777 seats are the most comfortable
That kid is dame lucky to be seated on SQ biz. I wish I was that kid
😂😂
Just took an sq flight for 1700 euros instead of 4k+ thanks to you and your point master. Amazing!
Amazing! I love to hear it! 🙏
Wow, such a great video, keep up the great work on this, and the podcast with your guest Alex ;) You will hit 1 million! I believe in you!
Thanks so much!!
Great video! Singapore Air is awesome, one of my favorites. I like your buddy's g-shock, excellent for travel.
Thanks! 👍
My business class experiences between SG>TOKYO on a380 have been *chefs kiss*. Took the SG>BKK in business and it was such a let down. Old, tired plane. Unfriendly air hostess, barely a smile. Felt like I was a burden was lucky to get a drink.
Noooo! That's so disappointing to hear 😔
I already know people are gonna mention about the recent SQ321 incident…🙄😂
But that aside, I love Singapore Airlines!
Thanks so much! 🙌
I booked tickets on Singapore Airlines 2 days before the SQ321 inchident happened. I have 4 tickets booked on them now, one of them being on the 777-300ER.
Im for Australia I fly them all the time
@@JJ-vy2rh same I'm from Australia to
@@OP38074it's not about the aircraft, it's the location. And if weather is good all around, you're fine. Enjoy their service!
I really love Singapore Airlines
SIA changed cabin rules since the major turbulence incident and now crew must stop serving meals if seat belt sign is on. Greater chances now that short flights have interruptions or possibly do not serve meals at all.
how early do you book bulkhead seats for 777-300er ? and what is the best method, call or wait until it's available on the app?
You gotta love the a350s XWB 95 engine
Welcome to Thailand from subscriber in Bangkok 😊
Thanks for subbing! 🙏
Hi Dan, sorry to bother you. I just had one quick question. Is it advisable to book a one-way flight to Europe from the US and then book a one-way flight back if you want to stay longer in Europe
If you are unsure about your return date, then yes!
SQ are great! Your video is the reason why I choose to fly them too!
The sq regional business does not need angled lie flat, but the long haul needs it
Hi Dan, How does one become one of your Points Master experts? Also, thank you and Oskar for doing what you do. My 12 year old loves watching you guys and your flight reviews. When he hasn't had a good day. he asks if we can watch Nonstop Dan. When we travel, he and the rest of my kids are always hoping we will run into you. lol That would be his dream! Keep up the good work! -Melissa
That's so sweet to hear, Melissa! Please pass on my best to your 12y/o and hopefully we cross paths one day 🙏
On becoming a Points Master Expert, have you already taken the course? If so, please email me at collabs@nonstopdan.com!
Great video Dan! KUL-SIN is The World’s Busiest Air Route and the route is ESSENTIALLY to connecting Malaysia 🇲🇾 with its cultural “breakaway city” Singapore 🇸🇬 even though Singapore and Malaysia went their separate ways in the mid to late 1970s there is still a lot of cultural and economic crossover between the two nations (especially since Malaysia 🇲🇾 still sees Singapore 🇸🇬 as a “breakaway state” and not independent, although I won’t get into that mess it’s like China 🇨🇳 and Taiwan 🇹🇼 😬)
Also, I remember last time when you flew from KUL to Medina 🇸🇦 on Saudi Arabian on their leased B747-400s from Air Atlanta Icelandic that had NO PICTURES ON IT AT ALL! 😂)
Cheers mate also at 4:52 I always love seeing large wide body aircraft on short haul routes like the Singapore A350-900s and Japan Airlines 🇯🇵 A350-900s flying ONLY DOMESTIC ROUTES WITHIN JAPAN! It still BLOWS MY MIND! 🤯
Cheers my friend 🥂
Also plz follow my channel Caleb’s Aviation I just made a new video and I’d love to hear your opinion of it and have your support as a subscriber! It’d make my day!
Thanks so much!
-Caleb’s Aviation 😅
surprising that Singapore Airlines is keeping the long haul configuration for the KUL-SIN route. I suppose that explains why their ticket prices are by far the most expensive for plying that route
My favorite airline ever.
I wish people would understand that turbulence can occur on any airline including Air Force 1.
Thank you ❤
Can you do a review of Singapore Airlines premium economy?
Hi Dan,
Thanks for this review I also urge aviation youtubers to standby Singapore Airlines and the crew as the Pilot did a brilliant job and saved all except 1
May be you, Sam chui, Josh and others can issue a joint statement to do so
Awesome flight.
It always amuses me how huge the Ethiopian model is compared to some of the more prestigious airlines in the display.
Awesome video!!!
Interesting time of this post haha
Had the Same VOML two years ago😂
Jättebra resultat! 👍
Nice video mate Dan
The algorithm is going to love this one
Do you mean by that
Any good advice for KL to Shanghai, Seoul and Tokyo for business class? Is better to fly SIA or ?
Good one !
Dan is so lucky because he can fly so many airlines
wait, is that jude and penny? omg never thought i'd see audrey and tim's little ones in your reviews! worlds colliding 🥹🫶 love the video as always, dan!
Thanks so much 🙏
Hi Dan, a quick question - I love Changi airport, and one of the things they do is to have security only at the gates, so you cut down the wait time. Have you found this to be true in other airports? Most airports have a centralized security check before immigration...
SQ also has short turn around times for us flights as well.
No! No!!
