I would like to see some smaller airline reviews, I know your travel revolves around your business, but these legacy airlines are becoming stale

Great comment and thank you for making it. Here's the problem I've got and hopefully you (and the others) can help. My last 3 videos were all on smaller carriers or unique aspects of the aviation industry but all were way down in their views. This is due to either the TH-cam algorithm not liking them or viewers not being as interested in them. If you could do me a favour and watch them this will encourage YT to promote more of this type of content. Also let me know if the videos themselves are the problems :)
The 3 videos in question are (you will find them on my channel under Recent Videos - or search the terms below):
Uzbekistan Airways - beautiful flight over the mountains from Tashkent to Bishkek in economy class
Aer Lingus - economy class from London to Dublin with a sneak peek of my behind-the-scenes filming of the aircraft engineering operations at Dublin Airport
Qatar Airways Global Operations Centre - how one room controls 30,000 flights and over 30m passengers per year.

@DennisBunnikTravels I watched the Uzbekistan & Aer Lingus videos, I believe they were both filmed in economy, which is of little interest. Other than having cool liveries, an economy seat is an economy seat
I don't know how I missed the Qatar special, I'll be sure to watch it.
I do enjoy your videos. They are top quality, keep it up!!!

Can you PLZ try and fly the Azerbaijan Air B787 Dreamliner LONG HAUL in Business someday soon! I'd much rather see that review VS say another Qatar 🇶🇦 or Turkish 🇹🇷 review if you have to visit that part of the world again! 😎 I always love those OBSCURE yet cool carriers like Azerbaijan they aren't hugely famous or glitzy but still good...

We always try to adjust to the county we are flying to, much easier on this old body, but the first thing after we get there is a beer no matter what timer even

I love your flying reports, and love the touching of the plane going in and coming out. 😊Singapore airlines is my favourite, and Changi airport is a big part of that experience. We fly from Perth and have slightly shorter first legs if the trip and layovers, but indeed, those are very long travel times to Europe, arriving early mornings with a long day ahead, so doing what you did is the best scenario. I normally keep moving at Changi to circulate the blood and there is so much to see! Happy travels! 😊

I love Singapore Airlines and you were partly responsible for my decision to upgrade to Business Class on Singapore to make a long awaited re-visit to my favourity country, Australia - I saw your and other vloggers trips in Business Class and I decided if I was going to go back to Australia, it was going to be in Business Class (my last economy trip was survivable but jeez, it was hard).
I managed to find a travel agent who specialised in low cost business class, and my dream became reality. My only regret is that I didn't give Singapore long enough, and that I didn't give myself enough time to transit in SQ on the way home. I flew A380 LHR - SIN, then A350 SIN - PER - then A350 BNE - SIN - then 777 SIN - LHR. The best overall was the A380, the best for sleeping was the 777. The regional A350 was great for 5 - 8 hour flights with so many options of food, drink, entertainment and sleeping that the time flew. IMO Singapore Airlines knocked it out of the park. My trip to Australia was amazing and by upgrading to Business Class, so was the getting there and back. Thank you Dennis for the inspiration that gave me life-long happy memories!

Great video Dennis! I really enjoyed this one! Especially the flight from Adelaide 🇦🇺 to Singapore 🇸🇬 on that beautiful Boeing 787-10! Also, that video where you went behind-the-scenes at the Qatar Ops Centre was really good I highly recommend it!
Great video I also think garlic bread on a plane is the best idea yet for aviation catering! Also you flew SQ, went to Singapore 🇸🇬 Changi & flew to Amsterdam 🇳🇱 ALL ON MY BUCKET LIST SOMEDAY! I also just love your music choices at 10:00 and at 10:21 doesn't jazz music especially piano always just make a lounge or a flight review feel more fancy! 🤣 I remember the last time you used this song on your United Airlines review from Newark to London Heathrow on their B767-300 in Polaris Business Class...
    Cheers 🥂mate here's to a great video!

Thanks Caleb, really appreciate the view and comment. Good spotting re that jazz track during the lounge - yes have used it a couple of times now and really love it for lounge scenes. Yes definitely put SQ on your list to try - in all classes their crew and service is excellent. cheers Dennis

@@DennisBunnikTravels I absolutely will! Also, could you tell me the name of that Jazzy Piano song used for the lounge?
I'd like to take Singapore flight 12 in SQ First from LAX-HND-SIN on the B777-300ER and fly back to the USA in Singapore Biz from SIN-JFK in their A350-900ULR! IF I EVER HAVE THE MONEY! 😆🤑 Also, I saw one of their BRAND NEW B787-10's (9V-SCU) 🇸🇬 Being manufactured at the Boeing Factory in Charleston SC, I was going to make a Behind-The-Scenes video there with some Boeing people but for complicated reasons, it didn't end up working out, and I was also told I can't post any of those photos... A real bummer considering it was a beautiful night in South Carolina and the planes were all lit up with the spotlight and just shining. 😞
Anyways, I also have a new video coming out very soon from a very secretive, Brazilian aviation museum located right next-door to the Embraer factory & HQ so definitely keep an eye out on my channel for that video. You definitely won't want to miss it! There are almost no videos of this museum anywhere on the Internet so I hope the video is very popular, of course it will be another one of my Guided Tour videos just like I did at the Delta Flight Museum in ATL & several others. Here is that playlist if you'd like to check it out, the video will be added there soon. th-cam.com/play/PLyAY3KQqnNkaphqid92ALWKLGYHIDM8Kt.html
I'd like to have it finished by Saturday Jun 15TH 11:00AM EST.

Great video Dennis - Adelaide is always a little difficult due to that early morning flight and long layover in Singapore but I’d take it every time rather than fly to MEL or SYD - I think that in this day and age dining on demand is always the best choice as you mentioned ,you didn’t preorder because you didn’t know what you’d feel like all of those hours later - maybe breakfast was more what you’d like at an earlier time - ah the decisions ? - hopefully you didn’t experience too much jet lag 🙄 oh those seats - I hate the foot storage

You really should consider unabbreviating your US states, TH-cam’s world audience doesn’t know-and isn’t required to know-every single US state abbreviation. Americans do this all time (and are known for this) now I see even well traveled ones doing it as well. Do you know all of Australian state abbreviations? I’m sure Dennis feels the same way I do, but he’s being polite to a subscriber.

Your review is spot on in so many respects. We flew from Melbourne to SFO return business class earlier in the year. Every aspect of the flights were perfect, food service etc. could not be faulted except for one glaring problem that you touched on. That is, of course, the size of the cubby for your feet when attempting to sleep. My wife and I both found it very uncomfortable in trying to find a position in which we could sleep. You pay the big bucks for business class for a reason and we, quite honestly, found it to be a real deal breaker and would be reluctant to fly with SQ again in these seats. A real shame when every other aspect was so good

From Los Angeles, where I live, most Asia or Australia flights leave late at night. My strategy is to eat at the beginning of the flight, then (try to) sleep. By that time there are only a few hours until landing. Also, adjusting to the new time is easier. If I sleep right away, there'd be a long, long wait until arrival. Great reviews, Dennis--you're the best! (Some time I'd love to have a long chat with you about my very disappointing experiences with Qantas.)

I totally agree with your comments, Dennis. Just back from BNE - MUC- BNE on SQ Business. They are my go-to airline for trips to Europe. I found the only disappointing issue is the seat design on Regional or Medium-haul Business. The hard moulding privacy barrier restricts space around your shoulder area and obscures any viewing out the window. The long haul business seat is the best I've found on all the carriers that I've flown!!

I wish they would provide a mattress cover as once the seat is in bed mode it's uncomfortable on the middle of my back ... one more thing is no chauffeur service if they added these extras they would definitely be world's number 1 airline....but they hands down have the best flight crews and ground staff in the World ....I love them....

So many airline reviewers eat so much on board then try and sleep! I know business and first offer better meal selections but to help jet lag you really should eat a minimum amount of food to help you sleep and your body clock to adjust. As Adelaide is such a small airport I would think getting a flight ex Melb would give you 3 benefits, better lounge, better schedule/ stopover and better plane, possibly the A380. Great video 🛩🥂

    • @DennisBunnikTravels
      @DennisBunnikTravels  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

Definitely agree with the food comment - eat and drink less and you'll feel better for it. Unfortunately when reviewing flights people want to see everything hence the higher amount of food. Re flying through Melbourne sometimes it makes sense but the domestic leg is often a drag and can easily add 4 hours to the journey so often a large chunk of the time savings are eaten up. Also the more passengers flying directly out of Adelaide the greater the chance of them increasing the number of flights :)

great video and Changi is one of the best airports in the world, but Hamad is geting closer now with its new garden.
I think you nailed it when it comes to transit and trying to match your biological clock with all the timezones and arrival/departure flights.. I most often depart from Scandinavia with really long haul (Asia, South America, Africa) where it just feels strange to have breakfast as you arrive early, and having to have another breakfast as you depart early, or worse depart in the middle of the night and get nothing..
Dining on demand is a blessing for me.
I think my best meal ever was on a QR flight in the middle of the night where they saved those mini-burgers as a late night snack.
I do prefer eating at the lounge, getting proper food and where I can work and relax for a few hours an use dining ond demand after some sleep.

Thanks Dennis, SQ are amazing. Long layover in Singapore, recommend heading into the city (Marina Bay Sands area) for quick sight see. Easy to do & worth it, even for 3-4hrs, with enough time for shower @ the lounge afterwards (a must after being in the heat) 😁

Great video. Love SA, I do prefer the A350 but you have to take what you get I suppose.
Leaving Singapore I'd prefer to have a sleep without food ( assuming earlier I'd had something to eat in the lounge) and then just before landing at Schipol have my food then.

They are increasing from 7 to 10 flights a week in a few months. Hopefully within a year or two we'll be double daily and SQ ADL becomes a real player in the European market.

In my view you gotta push through so you are adjusting to Europe time when coming from Australia. Especially if you are arriving early and won’t be able to get to your hotel room till 2 or 3pm.
I did the 5am Emirates flight from Melbourne recently to London and although I did end up just passing out, staying up on the 2nd leg for that bit would have been quite useful. I did sleep quite a lot on the 1st leg and didn’t go to bed the night before.

Yes haha. And to me part of it is the Changi ground experience. It’s just an amazing airport where I don’t feel stressed at all. Great paid showers, which is such a blessing after the long flight from AMS. I can’t afford Business Class though, so I always fly SQ in Y. 😃

Isn't the Singapore Airlines amenity kit too basic as compared to other long haul carriers? I find the same about Air France and KLM too. In fact, Air France and KLM don't even provide a seat cover for their seats in business class, which is very surprising. Great content as always! (I saw the video at 2x speed as I was getting ready for work here in Dublin, Ireland but couldn't miss a Dennis video while I had my breakfast)
    Great content as always!

Thanks mate. Yes those amenities kits are pretty basic. Every airline has its ways of cost cutting and it's only really Emirates that provides a true top shelf amenities kit in business these days.

Hi Dennis, a request: next time you visit The Netherland do you ever visit The Hague and Scheveningen and include some footage of both?
A Google map visit just does not cut it to remind me of my old (very) stamping ground
Hope you enjoy Amsterdam and try and buy a smoked sausage from the HEMA, just past de Dam?

Definitely prefer getting onto Europe Timezone asap. Prefer to arrive midday so it’s not so long to try and stay awake once you land, and try to sleep on the flights approximately when it’s overnight/early morning in Europe.

I've taken the Singapore-Amsterdam flight quite a few times before Covid for work (always economy, save for one premium economy flight). After the first time I've always skipped the first meal. I rarely get a good sleep in an airplane, but skipping the first meal at least gives me a fighting chance for some shut eye.

So pleased you’ve highlighted SQ’s terrible sleeping positions with their seats. Hopefully they will learn and incorporate better seats from the big exhibition in Dubai for airline seating. Still can’t believe people actually believe they are any good. Will be experiencing the A350 back to SIN from CPH on Sunday. Not looking forward to it.

Next year will be my first ever long-haul business class flights from Sydney to New York via Tokyo. We're flying with ANA in business on the 787, and the 777. My second time on a 787, and my first time on a 777 since 2016. I would love for them to have dine on demand like in the Qatar Business class. But I'm looking forward to it other less. Great Video!

Flew Singapore Airlines Business to Vietnam and back last year, a few days in Singapore on the way home. Was not impressed. Felt like I was ignored. Also, when my preordered meal came with baked beans, they just scraped them off the plate. I can’t have gluten so couldn’t eat any of it. Never again. I do enjoy your reviews, Dennis. 👋🏻🇦🇺

Enjoy the trip. As far as Adelaide goes, I highly recommend the following: book a food tour of the Adelaide Central Market, visit the Mortlock Library at the State Library, McLaren Vale and/or Barossa Valley wine regions, southern beaches including Port Noarlunga, South Port and Port Willunga. Adelaide Hills and if you have time the Flinders Ranges. The Aboriginal First Nations galleries at the SA Museum on North Tce also excellent.

Hi Dennis, really enjoy your videos! We're flying London to Sydney via a stop-over in Singapore in December and I'm really looking forward to experiencing SIA business cabins based on videos such as yours. With regards to the meal service/dine-on-demand question, I would prefer to have dine on demand - as someone who gets terrible jetlag, trying to manage it more recently with the help of an app, so usually the meal service times clash with 'sleep' time. Do you have any tips for combatting jetlag or experience with melatonin? All the best and safe travels! (Gavin & Stacey for the win!)

I find with Dine on Demand (eg with Qatar or in BA 1st) most passengers just have their meals at the start and end of the flights anyway. And the crew tend to encourage this as the middle of the flight is when they have rest shifts. I’ve even had dine on demand denied on Qatar on a nighttime departure from Bangalore (ie the crew said the mealtimes were set)

In Changi's T3 a couple of days ago. I reckon the terminal has enough room for me to get a Cessna 152 airborne, and then fly for about 30 seconds, before landing again. Lovely airport, and I'll compliment Singapore's cabin-crew for their unfailing politeness.
