yes and no. if you love using it enough, it might be worth it to grab some extra ammo armor. I love sidearms, but dont use them often enough to make a full sidearm set.

No, bro. It isn't. Relentless tracker gives you an enhanced tracker (similar to Nighstalker's Keen Scout perk or the perk you get on the Stillpiercer exclusive Hunter sniper) if you get a kill and reload. Reactive reload gives your weapon a temporary boost to damage if you reload after a kill. Both have similar concepts, but are completely different. Hope my comment helped you. :)

THANK YOU! This was a great review of the sidearm. Saw TeftyTeft review it on PD and it was TERRIBLE. He was literally trying to aim for the head 95% and up not realizing that it's a bad idea and pretty general knowledge to most Destiny players by now that you don't try to aim for the head on a sidearm, the payoff is just not good enough for that. He was literally missing his burst fires because he aims for the head, the first bullet or two hits it and then he misses the third bullet and follow up bursts resulting in lots of trades or deaths alone. Think I'll just stick around your channel for reviews instead of PD from now on, the only other guy I see worth it on PD is CoolGuy which has a good idea of what he's talking about. Personally I don't mind if someone makes a review and give their viewpoint completely opposite of mines but if you do that, at least do it right. Reviewing when you don't even know what you're trying to review is just not the way to go. It's misleading to players that don't have enough information on the weapon. Anyways subscribed.
I do not agree with your opinion of sidearms. For example void sidearms is useful for captains in the first boss fight of the raid. I use mine at close range and are quite effective. You can be surprised with the range as well if you have good perks on it.
One of the perks of the sidearms is also the range. You do not have to be close to the captain in Vosiks fight to do the damage. Especially valid for the hard mode
I commented during your Twitch stream today (while you were playing IB) like maybe give the gun inbuilt High Caliber Rounds (you replied not all guns need HCR). Since it might help it be more viable in PvE, it wouldn't be broken if Tresspasser had HCR in PvE and PvP, right? Also, do you think the timer to get off the super burst is enough time?
Watching this in Forsaken of D2 and I really wish they'd bring this gun back. It was so much fun and it's ammo problem would finally be solved as sidearms are primaries in D2.
Wouldnt a combo between a trespasser and a decent range fast draw hand cannon be optimal? For mid range fights you'd use the hand cannon, for mid to short, squeeze those double bursts and if they try to escape or it gets too heated quickly switch to a hand cannon and blast them out with their shields and health down. I feel like combining that with a shade step high agility hunter would be boss in trials. What do you guys think? Granted long range snipers/scouts will mess you up but that's where the shade step and agility could come in handy.
I mainly use it as a suppressing fire weapon similar how people used the Super Good Advice when people starting unlocking it in early year 1 and not knowing how to take advantage of it. Snipers, shotguns, and fusion rifles all have great ammo efficiency and damage potential, but forcing enemies to take routes and actions that are more in your favor when grouped up with your team seems a bit more favorable for me.

hiya patrick, how would you say the tresspasser compares to other high tier legendary sidearms? I'm personally a huge fan of the Y2 conviction II and I'm wondering if the tresspasser is worth my time
he already said in the video that "its the best overall side arm", but side arms do best when paired with uni remote or nlb since you can still one shot people. since you cant use this side arm with either of those weapons it all depends on what you usually pair your side arms with.
Here because of rumors that Trespasser may come back for D2 & I literally could not remember it from D1. Seems kinda lackluster. Thanks for the info! 👍
Got this thing yesterday from the lighthouse and thought, eh, it just a side arm, and got rid of it. After seeing this gameplay, I'm gonna have to buy it back and try it out, looks really fun
my problem with the trespasser in PvE is it doesn't give you any extra ammo compared to regular sidearms although it seems to chew through it faster so I find myself running out quite often
Huh. I've been using Sidearms as force-multipliers the whole time. You know, the whole 'Switch to your sidearm, it's faster than reloading!' thing about sidearms being a reliable weapon to transition to when I need to extend from or reset an engagement. Maybe that's why Dreg's Promise is actually good in my hands?
I got my trespasser from a blue engram 😄 I know it shouldn't effect anything but I always have Exotic Particles up when I'm decripting because I seem to get more exotics from purples and blues.
+Patrick Casey I on the other hand fell in love with the queenbreakers bow all over again as I don't get along with sniper scopes apart from viewtac, blacked out field of view throws me off too much.

See... I kinda disagree, Patrick. On Sidearms not being viable in PvE. You could ask any of my friends, my performance increases tenfold when I've got a sidearm in my back pocket. Because the thing is, the Sidearm allows lots of situational versatility. It's not the best in raw damage, but its DPS + High ammo count when using a high RoF sidearm is quite useable. I don't like the abysmal range of the shotguns in Destiny and the Sniper Rifles..? Well they're very powerful but... I am honestly just not precise enough to use them adequately, as strange as that may sound. Thumbsticks and I don't really get along well, you know? But the Sidearm's high aim assist + magnetism when I need to snap to a target and pull a Mozambique on them is incredibly useful to me. One could call it a "Get good crutch" with my reliance on them, but I'd disagree with that too, because it allows me a high ammo capacity, CQC option when I have a Scout Rifle. I'm still looking for a Scout Rifle that outclasses the Trax Devotio, something about that gun is just the best thing to me. Don't much like the MIDA, not punchy enough. But the Sidearm has saved my life in Destiny various times where the slow RoF of a shotgun or Sniper rifle, or the charge up and inconsistent spread of a Fusion Rifle would have been the death of me. Sidearms are consistent, powerful, and with the right rolls can be as deadly as any primary. You are however, correct about something that even I, an avid user of Sidearms, cannot disagree with or find any real fault in. Its damage at long range is awful. But, that's to be expected. Lower muzzle velocity, shorter barrel, etc. That's just how sidearms work. So using it for that isn't the best idea in my opinion. I think Sidearms excel when paired with punchy Scout Rifles, so you have your reliable long and short range options, leaving space for your Heavy to be something crazy. (Even though I almost always fill my Heavy with a sword) Hell on that note there, when it comes down to it? The Sidearm is all about having a potent CQC option with a high RoF and high ammo reserves, with low recoil that can be reliably hip fired and aimed. That's why I never really use anything but Sidearms in Destiny as my Secondary. Because they're incredibly reliable where my beloved Scout Rifles are not, and extend beyond the range of my blade.
Sidearm should beable to stop opponent sprinting so it can counter shotgun warrior That way sidearm will be of use What i mean is once you hit a shot on opponent he will only be out of sprinting That way you will have new archtype gun that is for counter shotgun warrior and a gun to chase fleeing opponent
yeah I will be continuing the armsday series on this channel. Was going to do it last week, but Outbreak Prime got released so I had to prioritize that.
I would like to try it the First Curse. I like running the First Curse/sidearm pairing so yeah. Also we could limit it to just equipping an additional exotic weapon.
Wow would i not love to use one if rng was not a bitch to me. Side arms are fantastic, and dregs promise is my faux trespasser. I gotta admit though the promise is so good for popping in and out of cover for pvp to get damage off safely.
Next update: trespasser can now be equipped with no land beyond

if you find success with a void sidearm, cool. I'd suggest something more versatile though in case you cant use your heavy to damage the boss.
stikaznorsk If I'm not focusing on doing damage to the boss I usual switch to my shotgun. The stagger and damage make it better to me.
One of the perks of the sidearms is also the range. You do not have to be close to the captain in Vosiks fight to do the damage. Especially valid for the hard mode

Hey! Just a small detail, yet pretty important! You do NOT lose accuaricy while shooting in the air! Very useful if jumping is abused!

Even TV was saying that NLB plus the Trespasser would be a deadly combo. We can dream.
You should review Dregs Promise again. It's much better now and can be very deadly in pvp.
It nearly has auto aim, I can blink around and still reliably hit targets.

see... that's where you're misguided. sidarms can reliably contest last word but less ghost bullets
they can be good, and i use them often, but i dont feel they are typically worth the exotic slot, but this one may be

Relentless Tracker needs to be replaced with reactive reload, it fits it more better since when you reload, you get the exotic perk activated

honestly the only reason I use side arms is because I think they have the highest skill cap in Destiny and it feels good ruining a shot gun guardian
