It's funny too. Aelita gave XANA an ultimatum so XANA couldn't give Franz an ultimatum.

He wants Hopper out of the way because he's the biggest threat, and capturing Aelita is the only way of luring him out, but let's be honest here. Part of the reason Xana's still targeting the heroes is because some part of him can't be satisfied until he finally kills Jeremy. He hates all the Lyoko warriors sure, but he really really *REALLY* seems to hate Jeremy more.
@@LordPsych420 I'd say flawless in terms of intelligence (except maybe a hint of arrogance), but at the same time he's often simply limited by his resources (since he doesn't have inherent access to the entirety of the supercomputer). The supercomputer he created the Replika Lyoko on may also not be under his direct control (we'll see in later episodes I guess). Also often times when he does have the upperhand, the heroes figure out how to force a stalemate that he deems any further action as an unsatisfactory result.

@@popaname Basically Franz Hopper is the creator of XANA (and Lokyo) and probably the biggest threat to XANA's existence. He needs Aelita to contact her father/lure him in and then destroy. His plan was to trap Aelita (and Lokyo Warriors) in Lokyo by destroying the Supercomputer (along with Jeremy and the Academy (and Yumi)) but Aelita devirtualised herself so if the meteorite were to strike, she would get destroyed as well and XANA would never capture her. It was a smart move, albeit risky!

This is better than "Armageddon." Sometimes I've missed the style of the first season but this ep recaptured the shows roots for a minute. I also like how the writers seem to have reviewed the prior seasons and tied in a bunch of stuff from past episodes to strengthen the worldbuilding and continuity.

As an adult I'm not a huge fan of the highschool drama or teenage hormonal shenanigans, but honestly it's very tame compared to most other cartoons.

This is another one of those heartpounders where XANA goes from Zero to sixty right in the next episode where his plan to destroy Lyoko nearly takes the whole world with it. It's just like the series premier when XANA possesses a Teddy Bear and turns it into a 50-foot monster, and in the very next episode, he threatens to short circuit a nuclear plant and wipe out the whole region in the ensuing explosion.
In this current case, the last episode was possessing a wild boar. Now, it's recreating the meteor strike that allegedly caused the end of the dinosaurs
Yeah, but XANA altered the meteor's entire trajectory, slowing it down immensely from being able to wipe out the entire planet. It is due to speed that a meteor, even at that size, has such a collosal impact, otherwise it just either gets stuck in the ground creating a large crater or wiping out a large region. XANA would not risk destroying the entire planet otherwise all of his plans go to shit.

Xana won in Season 2 finale and literally throughout most of Season 3. and even in Season 4 the definitive victory over Xana was bittersweet as it managed to murder Franz Hopper with its last breath (and its sad to think Hopper's death was in vain, all for Xana to return just a few years later). there were many other attacks where it was close to success, like the zombies one. had Jeremy fully zombified before he was able to launch the return to the past Yumi & Aelita wouldve literally been trapped in Lyoko

@@MomoKanjaki His theme varies and is different in about every episode of S4 and so it's kinda impossible to get a full theme, it doesn't start or end the same and each bit of his theme including ones that sound the same have different tones and the female choir singer is the one with this exact thing happening, I'm working on a full theme but it's gonna take a long time getting the audio and remove vocals and sfx completely.

One of the few times XANA proves that it is in fact, a computer program. It had access to a military satellite, but it's one objective with said satellite was "destroy comet, make smash into Earth." If that was a human behind the controls, they would have thought "I have this death beam satellite right here, let's just shoot at whoever I want to kill."
Yeah, I know "Satellite" was an episode back in Season 1, but still XANA, you had another shot with the Satellite gig, and you blew it.
Dang, it's ironic how I'm watching this episode a couple days after NASA discovered that the asteroid Bennu will hit Earth in 2135...

Actually its cant argued that the whole of seaaon one and two played out exactly how Xana wanted. Forcing the group to use RTTP by killing people and making sure to always get on of them. Season 2 gaining more power in order to break free of Lyoko. Its pretty in control
XANA's long-term plans: Use return to the past to gain more power, and then use that power to create more monsters (like the memory-stealing-jellyfish) and then use said memory-stealing-jellyfish to steal information from Aelita to gain control of the world wide net and then proceeds to destroy Sectors so Lokyo Warriors cana't access Sector 5 to destroy *HIM (or her?)* We can't say he hasn't succeeded.. since killing the Lokyo Warriors was probably always a Plan B, more like a convenience, but not his (or her) priority.
@@willowsorenson7971 XANA is neither male or female but can take desired forms through spectres and have the exact same voice so he CAN be male and female if that makes any sense, still there's no gender as XANA never had Spectres the day Anthea was captured and could only appear on device monitors, the Eye is also a genderless symbol and that's what X.A.N.A. started off with.
Yall can say what you want to make Xana seem smart, but the fact doesn't change that he refuses to use effective attacks more than once, and continues to place blatantly obvious weak spots on all his monsters.

Okay I take back what I said last episode about XANA not being lethal later in the series. Jesus Christ; a meteor shower
Well remember that X.A.N.A. was still developing an intelligence and was dormant along with Franz and Aelita for a long time so when Jeremie turned on the Supercomputer, X.A.N.A. was still the same and that Teddybear attack was because X.A.N.A. saw Millie upset and mad which when she said "I Hate Everyone! All Of Them! I Hate Everyone In The World!", the program protected her in a sense and did what she wanted especially watching Jim laugh at her being smaller, younger and thinking she really thinks being a grown up is actually good so X.A.N.A. went in as the enlarged Teddybear and terrified him, didn't kill or attack because it knows Millie is in pain and just wanted to have everyone see what it's like for her but it's also its sadism for why it didnt kill anyone until the end which is definitely seeing Millie went against it, not truly spiteful or evil so as you see, X.A.N.A. depended on others to give ideas for new attacks and wasn't intelligent enough to do anything complex or independent to be creative enough and it didn't have a personality that made it succeed in social situations but as we see, X.A.N.A. learned and evolved but not rapidly which makes it more realistic and having X.A.N.A. get sentient and intelligent early in a show is the worst, ruins X.A.N.A. and the show.

If the meteor that made the Gulf of Mexico was able to wipe out all the dinosaurs on the planet, I think a fraction of a meteor could have destroyed a house down the street from the school
realistically an asteroid of that size would have destroyed the entire planet Earth. If XANA's plan is kill the everyone on the planet then that asteroid would have done a damn good job. Although considering XANA still exists on the network destroying Earth probably wasn't the best plan ever as it would either leave XANA trapped on the network forever or it would completely wipe him out.

i'd see him more as a test hacker. someone who tries to hack your system to help you find any security risks.

Yep. The media has been duplicitous (dishonest) and conspiratorial for decades. Some people think it’s a new thing that’s cropped up in the past half a dozen years or so, but no-it’s been quite a long time since the media was trustworthy. Donald Trump may have made “fake news” a famous phrase, but bullshit reports and deliberately misleading, inflammatory headlines have been a thing longer than Trump has been alive. It has been a very long time since the media was worth trusting worth a damn. (Really, media has been bad ever since news reporting went big-time and corporation-based instead of small, independently-run printing presses.) And indeed, this episode of Code Lyoko is an excellent and eerily-realistic example.

I don't know why but it's getting to where just seeing william enter the scene immediately cracks me up.
2:38 that would be about 20 megatons worth of explosives which is about 1/3 of the destructive power of the biggest tested nuclear bomb, the Tsar bomb. I think they over exaggerated the meteor's impact effect, but i guess that adds to the excitement
