- The Lyoko Warriors are planning a seek-and-destroy mission against the Supercomputer that created the first Replika, discovered on a previous mission in the network. To complete their mission, Jeremy has finished a process he calls “Energizing,” a sort of teleportation which allows his friends to be rematerialized anywhere on Earth in the form of a Super Polymorphic Specter. While Yumi and Ulrich keep watch over the Skid, Aelita and Odd find themselves thus materialized deep in the Amazonian jungle…

It's kinda funny how in this episode the usual situation is in reverse, the gang activates the tower, and XANA sends William to deactivate that tower to stop their attack. Oh the irony...

That’s one of her powers. They refer to it in the next episode as her digital power. It seems to be allow her to manipulate anything digital, which means she can pretty much create anything she wants on Lyoko while in the real world it mostly seems to allow her to unlock doors.
That singing voice is as lovely as she is.

Huh. This just occurred to me. Really, Odd is the glue of all the group. He said from the very beginning that by the end of the day that they wouldn't be able to do without him. Well, he was truly more right than even he probably realized. Odd will be the reason they all remain friends in the future as adults. He'll be the one to keep the gang together.

I mean to be fair this is more a yumi problem then an Ulrich problem this is completely one sided. In comparison to the Aelita and odd situation. Ulrich has no issues with yumi he just wants to be forgiven.
All tho they do argue a lot more then odd and Aelita regardless but in their defense they most of the time never argue lyoko when they were fighting.

Since Jeremy is a genius couldn't he somehow pull up Aelitas birth certificate and all that info on her. Then they would know her birthday have her health record and all those issues would go away.
TaraLee At this point they don’t know Fran’s Hopper by his real name Waldo Schaeffer. Jeremy could search for her birth record but since they don’t know Franz’s real name or Aelita’s mother they couldn’t be sure it was the right birth certificate. Plus her health records only go to about age 8 (when she got virtualized), people are going to start questioning why her records were never updated. It’s easier to just create a whole new identity

There's one thing I think was missing from that scene that isn't really a big deal, but feels like it would have been the icing on the cake to me. When William deactivated Jeremie's tower, it would have been cool if it said William's name like it does with Aelita.

They did once in Season 1, but that was before she became human and before they knew anything about Franz Hopper, so technically, October 9th isn't Aelita's actual birthday.

This episode is actually really trippy. They have come such a long way. They used to just virtualize to lyoko but now they go straight to s5, tp into the skid, go through the previously untameable sea, tp through a network hub (which is incredibly trippy), unlock another lyoko, latch onto a tower, activate the tower, become spectres, and destroy other supercomputers. What a wild ride.
Also the animations in the virtual world are really fantastic. the attention to physiology and small details really shows they put a ton of time into it.

I also love how the animation lets you know exactly where they are. Lyoko outfits in the real world is an instant indicator of what’s going on. Brilliant

WHY IS AELITA SO CUTE
Yumi's definitely the unreasonable one here. She has absolutely zero ground to stand on. Ulrich's only human. He has his own life and his own worries. And not only that, but the time travel in the show only serves to compound that. For probably a majority of the days since Ulrich and Yumi met, they've used 'Return to the Past' quite often. Reliving the same day on and off with little regularity could easily become disorienting. And at one point, it even became exhausting for them. At this point, they've been going to that school for a little over a year, but temporally, it's been more like two years. Can you _really_ blame him for forgetting a specific date?
No. And to get mad at another person for forgetting your birthday in the first place is not only unreasonable and childish, but selfish, too. People forget. That's part of being human. Rather than get mad at someone for forgetting your birthday, or even your anniversary with them if you're in a relationship, maybe you should try, I dunno, _reminding_ them? If they care, they'll show it immediately and become apologetic, wanting to make it up. That's how you know they care. When you can tell that they genuinely feel bad about it. Then you can show them that you're not up your own ass by replying with something like "it's okay. We can do a make-up on another day".
This IS the mentality of a child. A child will try to get out of school, or get away with doing whatever they want, to the point of purposefully doing stuff they usually wouldn't do just to test the waters, because "it's my birthday. It's MY day. I can do whatever, be wherever, and insult whomever I want." An adult is mature enough to realize that the world doesn't revolve around them, and sometimes, it's just not in the cards to celebrate your birthday on your birthday. So what do we do about it? We re-schedule. I have to work on my birthday because it's Thursday? That's fine. But Saturday's all mine.
Yumi is not a child any more. She is in the ninth grade. She will be graduating from high school and be considered legally an adult in three years' time. Not only that, but she is one of five people who have been put in a situation where they are constantly fighting an ominous super-intelligent rogue AI that poses a world-ending threat. This is no time to be acting like a child. And it's amazing that after being in this stressful adult situation, and for such a long time, that she hasn't matured and realized that maybe it's not the end of the world that Ulrich forgot your birthday, and it's really an insignificant thing that you should let go, but are instead making a big deal of.
Where's the character development? This is a situation that shouldn't have even realistically happened, considering everything they've been through. But of course she'd get mad, because an adolescent acting like an adult would be _boring,_ and there's gotta be that _teen drama,_ right? Doesn't matter what kinds of traumatizing shit they've been through or what hard decisions they've been forced to make. Acting mature would be _inconvenient._
Braden Best I pretty much agree with every single word you said. In all honesty, ever since near the end of 2017, I've been really starting to see something in Yumi's character; something that I felt like I should've realized a long time ago.
For instance, we have the abomination known as "The Chip Are Down", where Ulrich was kicked out of the group for a pretty shitty reason: he helped out a friend (Yumi) who was about to move away. Are you fucking kidding me? Sure, it may have been a reckless move since Ulrich pretty much gave more power to X.A.N.A. without permission, but what other choice did he have? Apparently, none of them, not even that pathetic slut Yumi had remembered that everyone deserves a second chance. They never considered the possibility of both Yumi and Odd's asses getting kicked while on Lyoko when they would fight without any help from Ulrich at all, thus the Scyphozoa would be able to steal Aelita's memory with pure ease. They also never considered the possibility of Ulrich getting infuriated and wanting revenge on his own friends, especially Yumi, if you get what I'm saying. ;)
We also have "The Secret", where the team decided to vote for whether or not William should become part of the team. Yumi was the only one who voted "no", thus William wasn't able to join sooner. Again, Yumi, are you shitting me? William may have been annoying you at the time, but he literally saved you and your friends' asses from being blown up, and you're gonna reject him like he raped you a long time ago?
The reason why Yumi voted against William was because "he's a hothead who can't be trusted". This is an extremely lame excuse coming from a slut who trusts hotheads like Odd and Ulrich.
My point here is that, even though it was pretty much the group's own fault that William got himself enslaved for not telling him about specific reasons as to why the mission is so important, I think Yumi is the one to blame for voting against him earlier. Had she voted "yes", they could've given William some training sessions so he would take his missions more seriously, but NOPE, Yumi had to reject him because she's an ungrateful bitch, and not only did her stupidity lead to William's enslavement and Lyoko's destruction, it also led to Franz Hopper becoming a casualty in the war against X.A.N.A. _(Yet a lot of people still think it's William's own fault for some bullshit reason. They should pay more attention to see whose fault it really is, and not blindly hate William because they care way too much about their garbage OTP; Ulumi.)_
So yeah, I don't exactly hate Yumi, but thank God I've been starting to see the flaws in her character more clearly. I really wish I would've seen them sooner, but eh, better late than never I guess.
Well, saying she's a slut/bitch is taking it a little far, but yeah, she has a tendency to make really bad decisions out of a false sense of moral superiority, which seems to be the cause for most of the falling-outs that happen in this show.

And what happened? oh yeah, he ended up not listening, getting captured by the Scyphozoa, turned against his friends, and then of course DESTROYED LYOKO.
So MAYBE she had a point in saying that he shouldn't be able to join. She even explicitly said that he is too much of a hot head to actually be able to join.

What Yumi said about William being hot-headed may have been true, but it was a pretty hypocritical statement coming from someone who already trusts hot-heads like Odd and Ulrich. Sure, they're far more experienced than William, but that shouldn't have stopped her from letting him join and start training, and maybe even develop a much better relationship with Ulrich.
Oh yeah, and did I mention the possibility that even if William did listen to Jeremie and try to get the fuck away from the jellyfish, he still would've gotten captured? Just think about it, it's already been proven multiple times that you don't necessarily need to be a reckless show-off to get yourself captured by the Scyphozoa. Just look at what happened to Aelita in "Cold War"; she tried to run away from the jellyfish, but she still got captured because it chased after her. The same thing could've easily happened to William even if he actually tried to escape.
Did I also mention the fact that Ulrich, Yumi and Odd all just stood still like a bunch of morons, and let William pick up his damn sword when they had the perfect chance of freeing him and saving Lyoko?
I honestly really want to know what Ulrich and Yumi’s next conversation after she opened his gift was like.

I kind of wish that there was a Halloween episode where they used this ability to win a costume party.
Plot twist: Aelita's birthdate is June 6, the same day she and her father went to Lyoko.
i really like the slow build up to them having this tech. them being able to activate and use towers is old, and they did make the william spectre. them being able to manifest in the real world makes a lot of sense trough the course of the show.

After watching this episode fo The Who knows how many times I thought of an idea that may have been interesting to try in the show. What if when they started going to these other supercomputers they found other lyoko warriors fighting against xana too? Could’ve been an interesting idea. Any thoughts? I’d love to hear them.

I kind of wished the replicate areas had a more corrupted motif. Like the Forest area is completely dead and the Polar region is just absolute zero temperatures, those kinds of touches.
Edit: Also the whole thing with Yumi and Ultich, I think it would've made more sense if it was a follow up from the last episode. Because Ulrich did make her brother take her diary and almost caused a rift between them. That would've made more sense than just a random birthday gift.
