I'd also really suggest French Guys Cooking egg video where he boiled an egg for increasing increments of 10 seconds to show exactly where you can have your eggs at, from soft boiled to hard boiled!

I guess what annoyed me the most was that the water was not boiling, close but not boiling most of the time, and also the timer is wrong since she put the eggs into the water in different times so the last egg wasnt taken out after 11 minutes but only after 10 and finally...
It's still at the same temperature due to the latent heat of evaporation. Just less likely to crack that way. Also I think he kept note of the order and took them out in the same order.

Rather than having a birds-eye angle of the eggs in the boiling water, shouldn't we have had a bird's-eye view of the yolks?

Instructions too complicated. I still do not know how long to boil the water first before i can boil eggs. I guess i'll just eat crayons instead.
or you could boil it for about 6 minutes and turn off the heat, then check it out about 15 minutes later or even just let it sit there. shouldn't get green on the yellow. of course that is just for hard boiled.

The amount of comments that doesn't get the purpose of this video is astounding. It's meant to be a video timer, something you play when you are actually boiling eggs. It is actually really helpful to see how the inside of the egg will be without taking some out and breaking them open. at different time periods.

Just use one of those red egg timer things you put in the water. Makes perfect eggs every time. Doesn't matter about number of eggs, amount of water etc.

Jamie, what is your definition of boiling water? That pot of "boiling water" doesn't appear to be boiling at the start. What gives? At 1:54 it starts to bubble a tiny bit, by 3:43 it's bubbling just a bit more. By 5:00 it's what I would call "just barely boiling". (I'm using times from the video, not the "Boiling Egg Timer" insert. At the beginning, if the water's not moving, not bubbling at all, how can call that boiling? To me, boiling means a rolling boil.

Who actually watched all of it without skipping?
1- Speed the video when there's downtime
2- If for some reason you wanted the downtime, at least use that time to explain why you're dipping the eggs 3 times and why the salt.
3- Still liked the video tho, great stuff as usual.
Maybe they wanted the downtime so that the video could be used as a timer.

why did this make all my eggs fail? they just never cooked through. i recommend putting the eggs in before you boil and then when thee water comes to a rolling boil, turn the heat down and let sit for 6-9 mins

Why the dipping in?
Start eating millets like foxtail ,barnyard,little millet, brown top millet,kodo millets
I boil them for 5 minutes then, cover with lid, turn of the burner n let them sit another 5 minutes n theyer done hard boiled.
It would be better if the woman in this video could have used tongs when placing the hard boiled eggs on the egg cups so that she won't burn her fingers and to also use the tongs when she breaks the eggs so that she won't also hurt her fingers.

McKeviin true but it is simply a view- grab for revenue with little benefit as the timer won’t be correct at most elevations. A 5 min egg is almost hard boiled in my part of the world. They are just hoping for people to let it run to increase revenue. Very poor form and not what I would expect from Jaime’s organization. 😐

Honestly didn’t miss the point, I got it was a timer but it only works at the same elevation as was filmed and didn’t specify if eggs were room temp or cold AND didn’t clearly show the yolk results so you knew what you are aiming at. I agree lots didn’t get the point but many did and still have meg reaction.

SMH you're supposed to watch the video when you're actually making the eggs so you wait in real time and take the egg out when they do. It's actually a good idea. I'm shocked by how many people are saying its a waste of time or whatever. Didn't realize it was a hard concept to grasp for some people. A lot of people seem to get off by being an overzealous critic of everything they come in contact with... Pretty pathetic.
Ha ha ha How many minutes did the water heat up? What is the temperature of the water, because it does not boil 0:12? It is necessary to count the time of cooking eggs from the moment of boiling water, and in the video water is simply hot and incomprehensible temperature.
@McKeviin The water does not boil, it is just hot on the video of an unknown temperature. And the time of cooking eggs should be counted from the boiling time, i.e. when BIG bubbles appear. Each of our schoolchild knows how to cook eggs - even soft boiled, even hard boiled.
Where's the difference between egg 1 and 2? How does egg 3 look? You didn't show it...
Are the eggs at room temp at the beginning and do on.
Also most interesting would be runny on the inside, not runny but really soft to eat with a spoon and hard boiled for potato salad or so.
