Happy birthday Christy! What a beautiful vlog. Tip to relieve sinus pressure on planes (as given by a flight attendant when a former partner of mine was in a similar situation): if you pour hot water on 2 wads of paper, place each wad in a plastic or paper cup, and then put the cups over your ears, the steam somehow can greatly relieve the pressure. Of course you'd need assistance from a flight attendant for that during take off!
Happy birthday Christy! I had a surreal 28th birthday. I'm Australian, and I flew from Brisbane to Dublin, basically on my birthday, so I essentially flew back in time because of the time zones, and had my birthday twice. I was long-distance with my partner at the time, who was living in Ireland. My birthday is 18th May. I left Australia on the 16th, flew to South Korea for a one night stopover (Seoul was only an hour or so apart from Brisbane time so basically the same). The next day, the 17th, I got on another flight to Ireland. I was in the air somewhere over St Petersburg when the clock hit midnight by Australian time, which means it was the 18th and now my 28th birthday (and some friendly people I'd met on the plane said to come get them at midnight and they'd have a birthday toast/drink with me). But then when I arrived in Dublin it was 7:30pm on the 17th Ireland-time. When I woke up the next morning, it ws the 18th all over again, and I had a great full day in Dublin including going to the Dublin Writers Museum. That was the start of a month-long trip around Ireland.

Hey Christy! My brother has the same issue with his sinuses when flying - he now takes a sinus decongestant before flying and that seems to help. 🩷

My grandma grew up in Bergen and it's one of my favorite places to visit. Such a cozy city.
Such a fun vlog! RE: Sinus ~ I used to get horrible sinus infections, and generally throughout my life had trouble breathing through my nose while sleeping, until one doctor told me to try cutting out gluten. This changed my life. And I have since discovered that I was allergic to gluten my whole life without knowing it ~ I just thought feeling shitty most of the time in different ways was totally normal. Since cutting out gluten, my sinus issues have completely gone away, along with many other inflamatory issues like joint pain, bloating, etc. It was hard to imagine cutting out gluten at first, because I'm part Italian and ate wheat like 3 times a day lol. But there are so many awesome alternatives now, even gluten-free wheat! And perhaps even just lessening it when you experience symptoms could help?? 🥰 You deserve to feel good! Especially on birthdays 💗🧁

Was there any worries about a language barrier or did most of where you go in Paris and Norway have a lot of workers who knew English? I travel outside the country for the first time this summer, been my biggest concern.
Here in Norway we start learning English in kindergarten. Even the older generations speak it fluently, so it's nothing to worry about..
Thanks @@cosykaro, I want to try and learn at least some of the language when traveling to another country, I feel like its rude to not at least try, lol. But that's good to know.

I had the exact same sinus experience on my second ever flight as a kid ! and also ended up with a nosebleed lol, the flight attendents had menthol in some steaming hot water that I had to inhale which helped. Sorry you had to go through that pain !! I find sucking a hard boiled sweet during take off can help.
Sorry your journey home was awful, it sounded excruciating. Lovely gesture from the flight attendant though. The sinus thing might be a post covid related illness? I had something similar with sinus discomfort and sinus headaches.. Hope you feel better soon and this doesn't take away from your lovely memories of your time in Europe

Oh no, I had the same "drilling into my face" sinus pressure on a plane many years ago and let me tell you, you are not a baby for crying. It was one of the worst experiences of my life. I burst a blood vessel in my right eye and to this day when my eyes get red from reading too long, my right eye looks much worse than my left.

OMG, you were in Bergen!!! I live in a city south of Bergen and we often go to Bergen over the weekend to visit family and friends, since my boyfriend is from a fjord close to Bergen. He is actually a little involved with the museum you went to. Bergen is literally one of my favourite cities, I am so glad you had a pleasant stay. Oh my gosh! I’m so sorry you went through that on your flight. My husband has experienced something very similar (he also cried on one occasion because it was so painful). He now carries nasal decongestants and nasal spray on flights. I loved all the Paris and Norway footage! Happy Makeup Birthday! 🎉❤

I'm so sorry you were sick on the plane ride home. I always pack a little emergency kit of pills, even things I don't normally take. If something is going to happen to me, it will be on a plane, where I can do nothing about it. My mother's heart goes out to you. (Headache pills, anti nausea, anti gas, vitamins, supplements, eye drops, anything I might possibly need. Put in tiny ziplock bags. Doesn't take up much space). Thank you for sharing your beautiful footage with us!

It's not nice at all!! I'm so sorry you went through that and were so sick after your trip! It's crazy the effects traveling can have on us :(

Being sick while flying is the actual worst!! I spent two weeks in England over the summer and got a horrible cold my last day there. I didn’t have any medicine because I didn’t recognize a lot of ingredients in their medicine and didn’t want to risk a reaction before the flight, so I spent 10 hours in a plane and another hour in the car getting home absolutely miserable. The flight made all the sinus pressure so much worse, I didn’t have enough tissues, the sinus pressure in my ears was so bad I couldn’t listen to music or sleep or anything, and I was struggling not to cry the entire time. So I feel your pain 100%
I had a sinus issue on a plane once as well. My sinuses were blocked due to a cold and I ended up almost rupturing my eardrum on a flight. It was also almost immediately after takeoff it suddenly felt like someone was putting a needle in my ear. I was doing everything I could to equalize and chew chewing gum and drink water and nothing helped. I just curled up and waited for the flight to land. It was a short flight luckily but it was so scary and so awful! A local flight as well. I can 100% relate to your story about your horrible plane trip! I hope you're feeling better! One of the most exciting things of my early literary career was seeing a photo of my debut novel someone had bought from Shakespeare & Co, complete with the stamp inside. I’m so glad you got to go-it really is a special place (although I am deathly allergic to cats, and they always seem to have a million cats inside). ❤️
