You've got to appreciate Patrick Stewart and the rest of the cast, for being willing to do voice work for something as 'silly' as a video game (many actors would be above that).
Just listening to the sound effects and the in game alerts and voices is bringing me back into a state of mind I haven't been in for years. I can't even properly describe it. This is my favorite game ever.
I really got into the modding community for this game. I learned almost every game file and to use milkshape 3d and other 3d moddeling tools to make my own ships and stations. They had so many community made tools and assets for free. I would download mods or any content from other people across all A2 modding sites and combine them into a master game file I would play. My game had EVERY sci Fi ship and station from every show. Galactica, Babylon 5 , Stargate, hell I even had obscure ships and one offs like Galaxy quest. The federation was ever human race or earth based government. The rest had every ship from other mods. For example The Klingons could build over 150 ships from 12 shipyards and stations. I had made my own load screens, GUI and so much. I spent over 14 years playing and modding it. Then I just stopped one day when my computer died and I never bought another one. I still have the HDD with the build...
I loved the AI for this game. Modifying it was so satisfying and simple to do with immediate results that changed the gameplay so much. Map building was great. It supported more playable races and in most cases you could easily enable another slot and add one from mods as they came out. Adding entire races to this game and then tweaking the AI was so much fun. It made the replay experience so fresh. They should have embraced the mod community as free developers and marketing.
@@silent_buh Kinda understandable. Even though the 2nd is bigger (more ships, varaity etc.) it kinda lacks the real feeling of a space battle, cause the ships are to fast to easy to destroy. But luckily there is a amazing mod called Fleet Ops (Roots for example) It has the best of both worlds Armada 1 and Armada 2 :)
@@AndersonNeo12 What even is there of Armada 2 left in Fleet Ops besides the name? Because you'd never be able to tell it was originally Armada 2 if it wasn't for the big "Armada II" in the name. From ship's no longer moving in battle to the Galaxy Class being unbuildable again, almost _everything_ that made Armada 2 different was removed and the game was reverted back to almost pure Armada 1. The only thing I don't like about Fleet Ops is that it comes across like it was made by Armada 1 purists who just flat out hate the sequel.
that question in the beginning "how did the borg get so deep in alpha quadrant space undeetected" maybe they used a tactical fusion cube and took a shadow class phase cloak. and they used a cloaked tactical fusion cube to get deep into space. thats what i did once:D
Martok quoting Shakespeare in Klingon. Chef's kiss. Although I'm not too fond of the Cardassians rebuilding and attacking the Federation. They suffered the most during the Dominion War. Plus I don't think Garak would allow the new Cardassian government start a pointless war.
The whole game, started with the intro is a back step. Low effort cash grab from the fans, because fukyugimmemone. Activision wasn't in the development like before, just released it.
@rivaj yeah and it shows. Thank God for modders. Whenever I play armada however I always go for the 3 mod for sins of a solar empire, really looking forward to see what 4 is like for sins 2.
10 bucks. Not bad for a game 20 years old Though I like the missions In the first game more. Twilight is my fav mission. Assimilating the federation fleet oh so nice

*in the past. Now it is different...
@@silent_buhthey also did the voices in bridge commander. Data and Piccard were voice by their original actors.

Considering it's not the government responsible, I don't see the problem.
20:56 says they don't know the identity of the foes, but earlier in the mission, you find out it's species 8472. Oopsie
Any plans to do something like this for the Elite Force games?
I actually have part 1 and 2 on my GOG wishlist. I still have a few games in the pipeline, but I'm looking forward to part 1.
Epic
Am I the only one who thinks that the ship models in Armada 2 look worse than 1?
