But at these two points you behave like a typical Klingon. Noting I would expect from a Föderation captain, to be honest.

Correct I always liked sesca the character I always felt like there was a potential for a long-term story arc that they just didn't make it cuz of casualty of story lines it was a nice touch and bridge Commander was the bright spot just before the madness
Can anyone imagine this made for VR today? We have the tech for VR/AR to make this real. Why not? Alot of the Star Trek games needed that. Even X-Wing vs Tie Fighter got a VR update.

Sorry that Bridge Commander wasn’t made more widely available for PC, because it’s a very good game, with a nice mix of space combat, an interesting story (D.C Fontana was story editor on this game; she was one of the writers for Star Trek: The Original Series) a cool voice-over cast, and a pretty good orchestral score. Too bad Activision and ViacomCBS weren’t able to come to an agreement regarding the Star Trek games Activision published, because there were so many good ones (like Armada and Armada II, and both of the Elite Force games), and should be remastered, but it seems that they’ve been lost to time.. BTW... thanks for posting this.
what do you mean that Bridge Commander wasn't made more widely available for the PC? It was as widely distributed as *any* game was during its launch time... it was sold in every video game store and most big box retailers that sold PC games. Steam didn't even exist yet (Steam would launch a full year after this game came out) and no other digital distribution options existed at the time... I still have my retail box copy sitting in a box somewhere. If you mean *today*, then sure, like a lot of older PC games from this era, particularly those with rights issues, it's been left to rot. At least now it's available for like $10 on GOG. Lots of other old stuff is available too... I picked up SoF 1+2 on there as well (similar age, also w/ rights issues).

I no longer have an up-to-date PC (I have a Windows 7 that still works, even though it’s past the end-of-life for the operating system) so it’s been difficult to find games that don’t need some sort of online connectivity to play or download them.
I dare say that Bridge Commander was THE BEST Star Trek game. There were lots of good Star Trek games out there (Elite Force, Starfleet Command, A Final Unity, etc.), but none capture the TNG "feel" of Bridge Commander. When I was first playing it, it made me feel like I was a part of a Star Trek show, and it put me right into its universe. It's really a shame they didn't make any sequel or expansion to it.
Still remember playing this game years ago on PC. Such a fun game. I remembered thinking it was so weird to see a Starfleet crew in that First Contact style uniform on the Galaxy Class Enterprise-D style bridge. By the way, funny how they're on the Dauntless bridge, but the plague to the right still says Enterprise lol
iirc the bridge on the USS Dauntless in star trek Bridge commander was actualy based on designs inspired by the designs of the Enterprise D if im not mistaken and if im right the Galaxy class USS Oddessy had a bridge design almost similar to this in DS9 before she too was destroyed.
Not sure if I've written this before, but when engaging Romulan Warbirds, always stay on top of them (the closer the better as long as you don't end up colliding with it) - they cannot fire anything above the Warbird. Their sensor array is located behind the Warbird's 'neck'. Keep firing at it till they go blind. I could defeat three Warbirds with one Bird of Prey using this tactic.
it helps to have hailed the kessoc captain in the nebula to make things easier at the end & for the damaged or destroyed ships you come across it helps to give them a scan & get any supplies they have & it would've helped to have helped the kessoc against the cardi's at the end
Honestly even modding this game ws fun with the endless ships but this was a good story arc and great props to have some familiar characters and voices in the game not to mention to have Seska's voice over, Vaughan Armstrong (Korbus), who has played endless Star Trek Characters through all the series. It be great to remake this game truly by far a feel of a true Star Trek game, until Star Trek Online of course lol
We were lucky to get it and even luckier that it's written in python which allows easy modding! If it came out today in Unreal Engine 4 it would be forgotten.
When you were in the Nebula with the Kessok ship shields down and the device you should have called him and then he would respond and in the final mission the Kessok would not attack everything would be easier. Maybe you know that anyway.
That isn't quite what she said though. "The Dauntless is the only ship in the area EQUIPPED to take on this operation." So, going by that it sounds like there may be other ships in the area yes, but if it isn't a Galaxy/Sovereign class then that might be the Admiral's point in that any other type of ship lacks the resources needed. My opinion anyway haha!

It's worth having this game just for the ship packs and infinite mods to the quick battle mode. Ah, those were the days! Give weapons control to your friend, approach the enemy ship at full impulse with manual piloting while he or she is firing all weapons and pull away the last second before colliding ...and watch your friend literally duck when he thought you were gonna hit🤣
Would love to see star wars do something like this and star wars legacy. Would love to pilot a star destroyer or any other larger vessels in any star wars era.
I never actually beat this until I installed the Kobayashi Maru mod, rewriting scripts to swap the Sovereign model with the Achilles class USS Lennox mod. Could never pass the waves of Kessok heavy cruisers in the stock or upgraded Sovereign….I also modded the Lennox with multiple plates of ablative armor hull hardpoints.
Same here. But I never did mods for it. It just ended up collecting dust after a while. Now that it's back in GOG, I may pick it up again and try to mod it.
The Kessok ships all have really crap bottom shielding (and borderline-invulnerable top shields), so its usually easy to cripple them if you manually attack them from below (hit the cloak, then the shield, then the repair system). Alternately, one of the missions gives you limited access to 20 phasic torpedoes (basically a prototype of the overpowered transphasic torpedoes in the last episode of Voyager), which fly straight through shields and hit really hard (some of the time; other times they hit the shields, and there's a small chance they just blow up your torpedo tube). For the phasic torpedoes, just lag for a few minutes on the defense of Starbase 12 mission and there's a few extra visitors to deal with. The catch is, though, that you really want those for the follow-up battle against the 4 Hybrids (which are better-shielded underneath, are more maneuverable, and better armed). Usually you just want to survive against the Kessok cruisers more than kill them, which is easier if you get the Neb'lig to join you in one of the preceding missions (the Heavy Cruiser waiting in a nebula with its shields down).

OK I don't know if it's a tribute or an error but at 4:54 you can see the plaque on the wall says U.S.S. Enterprise. With so many games getting remastered with new graphic technology I hope this gets a treatment.

This is an activision published game, Activision no longer have the Star Trek game license, thankfully, it was bad enough when they did as all the games they published when they had it were garbage. They even managed to screw up the Starfleet Command series with that god awful Starfleet Command 3.

This mod would be great, but it's extremely unstable and crashes after every mission thus undoing your progress. Same with the kobayashi maru mod, which is even MORE unstable, crashes consistently about every 5-10 mins. Which is a shame because both mods really do bring the game much closer to modern standards.
This is Kobayashi Maru, you can play the missions separately from the game menu. Sure, it crashes after most of them but it is playable. The new mod "Bridge Commander Remastered" is single player compatible.

I know it's been two years ago but it's always bothered ne when ship pilots turn the ships butt at the target I mean it's where the warp drives are stop turning yer butt at the target! Anyway doesn't matter now but that does bother me.
I love the game but the writing is dreadful. Romulan warbird suspects cardassians smuggling weapons and when Dauntless stops ship from being destroyed the romulans open fire? I know the game needs action but I wish there was more reason for it.

I loved playing this game. But at 2:53 that cutscene mistake of the repaired warp nacelle not quiiite being attached to the ship always bugged me!
They're doing repairs. The nacelle was hit and damaged, remember? They're replacing with a new module ;)

Whoever made that game didn't know a whole lot about Star Trek, it looks like. Calling a Nebula class a "lightly-armed science vessel" is just... wow.

What stopped me from loving this game was the combat system. It was the same attack pattern every battle, No change in style or attack arcs.
