Esp in the in the 1st 1/2 of their career, Mike's Bass Lines & his Playing was TOTALLY what made Most of their songs SO GOOD!! STILL IS - But with Keyboards, & Many Other instruments being used More in the latter part of their career, Mikes Bass Diddn't seem 2B heard as Much/Definitive as B4. He's Still INSANELY GR8 On That Bass - Really, Of Course, He's BETTER with every passing DAY, but Yes - There's SO MANY Fantastic SONGS That COME From His Amazing BASS Playing. Mike Dirnt IS CERTAINLY at the top of His Class!!

i dont think so. billies still able to hit those notes because most of green days songs after insomniac is in standard tuning besides 39 smooth because billie was really young at that time and his voice was still developing but when father of all came out he was able to hit notes that was never recorded in any grren day album so the answer is billie probably had no sweat in playing this song in standard tuning
also yes im pretty sure and awared that billie was already hitting high notes before father of all came out

Another reason this song sounds so different (besides the fact that it's in standard tuning) is that Billie's playing a Gibson with what looks like one humbucker pickup (though I can't tell exactly from the video.) Totally different sound from the stratocaster, which is much brighter and punchier.
