This is the most lit live version of this song. I know he didn't use blue but the combination of Jason and Billies guitar in this almost makes it sound better than the original.
fun fact: this is the same double cut used on boulevard of broken dreams video and also this is the tv yellow double cut from 2012 this was a demo version to see if Billie liked it of course it didn't have the p90h or the skull pickguard this was just a tester to see if he liked it, Gibson was working on that model for at least 2 or 3 years and before that happened he had a prototype Gibson lp jr special in white with a stencil in 2010
@wazzup4567 - That was actually me! Got the tickets to that show at the last minute and it's unreal that it was all caught on film. I still have a ticket stub from their 1995 concert @ the oakland coliseum that cost me $15! 2010 @ the Fox... $50... but worth every penny. Cheers. Glen in Norcal
2009 was the last year Green Day did a decent tour in Canada. Calgary, Edmonton and Vancouver. Not jist Montreal. I went to see them in Edmonton n cuz i thought the bus ended. I missed half the fuckin show. Ill always regret that. I gota see them again sometime
@LPRory d he read the setlist on the floor and i think he was surprised the last song was this one ^^ he might have thought "oooh it's been a long time"
Such an awesome band. We need more of this sound. They can be labeled punk for the sound they wanted to have and only THEY had in the '90s. Rock N' Roll themes and the Green Day sound have been turned mainstream by many bands today. You can hear a lot of Nimrod sounds all around this modern fucked up place.
Alfredo sanchez Holding the guitar close to the amp and cab to get feedback/static noise while just holding on to one note and wiggling the string up and down.
I like Jason, but I just don't think he should play the Dookie, Insomniac, Nimrod stuff. I mean, they did all of that without him when they first came out. And plus it was so noticeable that Jason was there in the beginning. I think it would just sound better if he didn't play the 94-97 albums.
+Samuel “TheTulo02” Joseph This is especially noticeable in the woodstock preformance of Welcome to Paradise, since Billie Joe was the only playing guitar there. Besides, the original recording of WTP has 2-3 guitars in it anyway,
Les Pauls arent that bad of a sound. When I play When I Come Around, She, Welcome To Paradise or Longview it sounds fine. He probably didnt switch out because he forgot he was playing this. I agree though. Fender's Telecaster and Billies "Stratocaster" sounder better Ideally for the song.
Easily one of the best in punk. He just cuts right through. Mike isn't like those other bassists (maybe flea) in that he only adds the little trills to remind you he's there. He knows his job. Many of the best players around can't do that for shit, so they don't cut through. Beautiful lines, but unlistenable in the mix. Mike cuts through like a knife, which is why I base my sound off of his in a way. Bright, dirty, bouncing around the scales here and there.
He hasn't played the real blue since nimrod or something like that. If you see him playing blue now it is a replica. Now he plays either fake blue or LP Juniors.
As far as I know he still does. He’d swap Blue for the replica he had on the Nimrod tour for songs in standard tuning, but now he uses LPJs for those instead. He’s currently does and always has used the original Blue for Eb songs.
Tre's amazing in this song seriously, even though he's great in every other song
Tré definitely shines in this song. Those fills are nasty 🤘
I’ve noticed He’s always managed to keep his drumming super tight through their career
Blue is the most important member of Green Day
The Nimrodic Insomniac this song is off of kerplunk
Tahj Johnson and Dookie
No Tre is
@@tahjjohnson9320welcome to paradise is also off of dookie, and all albums up till warning were played on blue
@@DrewpBalls935 Dookie and Kerplunk
thumbs up if you think Mike is one of the best bassist alive!!!!!!!!
He’s AMAZING
best performance of welcome to paradise ive ever heard
This is the most lit live version of this song. I know he didn't use blue but the combination of Jason and Billies guitar in this almost makes it sound better than the original.
I haven't seen Mike Jump like that since early Green Day. I think it comes out when they play their older songs.
I can never get enough of this song!!
So do i ....never...never...and never...since #1 time i hear that...
Green Day never get old. Their tab are extremly simple but the best rock out.
While I'm not a fan of their newer albums, Billie Joe still has MONSTER tone with his guitar
Woah, this is the earliest ive ever seen Billie use a double cut
I'm pretty sure he uses one in the Boulevard of Broken Dreams music video. I could be wrong, though. They never really show a clear angle of it.
Well done, that's correct.
I think he also used one during the Warning era.
He uses it in 2005 MTV awards in Australia
He used one with a humbucker back on the warning tour in 2000
love the old green day this song is flawless
Best bass solo ever!
2:20 is so epic
fun fact: this is the same double cut used on boulevard of broken dreams video and also this is the tv yellow double cut from 2012 this was a demo version to see if Billie liked it of course it didn't have the p90h or the skull pickguard this was just a tester to see if he liked it, Gibson was working on that model for at least 2 or 3 years and before that happened he had a prototype Gibson lp jr special in white with a stencil in 2010
there is only one word .... incredible
omg I havent seen this version for like 10 years, but man the drums are so damn tight, tre is a goat
2:44 Tre Cool though
Epic: Guitar, Bass, Drum Solo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Holy shit this live version ROCKS!!!!!!!
BEST SONG IN THE HISTORY!!!
i really like the double cutaway les paul jr. and the fact that he plays welcome to paradise on one?!!! brilliant
AMOOO LA CANCIOOON !!!
AMOOOOOOOOOOOOO A GREEN DAY CON TODO MI CORAZOOOON!!!
POR SIEMPRE LOS MEJORES!!!
i feel power going trough my veins!
man, this is just GREAT! I can't stop listening to this... it's actually better than the record!
THIS IS THE TRUE GREEN DAY !!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!
That is the reason why its my favorit band

Just listen to that sound.
16 years have passed and the sound is still wonderful!!!! =O
Hahh at 2:57 he does that headbang like in the Woodstock video ^^
Justin Bieber: The gods send me down here to sing
Green Day: No, we didn't
I love it at 0.36 when Billie and Mike have a bro moment ;D
i like how the crowd didnt know this song as well....shows how many real green day fans there are anymore.
I love this song!
Billie playing a Dookie song without "Blue"?
I actually believe this is the Kerplunk version. I'm not sure though
Anyway, something from 39/smooth, Kerplunk, Dookie, Insmoniac without "Blue" is just weird.
Rodrigo P. Yeah, if Billie's playing those old songs, Blue is supposed to always be with him
Dude it's not 1994,it's 2009 XD!!
Funny Dude 343 Hahahaha Yeah, but, you know, the maple fretboard and the SH-4...
what a sound :D
billie does not play with blue on this one and plays with another guitar, okay, but the strange thing is that this guitar is tuned a half step down.
toño that’s what the entire album Dookie is tuned to.
Peyton B yeah but usually the only guitars he has tuned to Eb are Blue and whatever backup he has for it
@Greendaykid645 Its Gibson Les Paul Junior Double Dut in TV Yellow, It's definitely not SG
I saw them in caracas , i remember when they play this song , simply : fucking awesome
Amazing!!!!!!!!! :D
@LPRory d he read the setlist on the floor and i think he was surprised the last song was this one ^^ he might have thought "oooh it's been a long time"
3:35 commercial, of this show, in A&E channel :)
I've never seen Billie with LPJ in Eb.
@Amber_cakes133 Lee what does that have to do with what he's talking about?
@Amber_cakes133 Lee What? Well ok
His double cuts often were used as a backup for blue especially this yellow one
It doesn't fucking matter what kind of guitar he uses just enjoy the fucking song
It makes all the difference in the world
Too much emotional people

GREENDAY!!!!!!👍👍👍👍👍%100 SO GOOD!!!!!!!!🏆😎
How does that effect billie guitar at the minute 2:28
Alfredo sanchez Holding the guitar close to the amp and cab to get feedback/static noise while just holding on to one note and wiggling the string up and down.
Feedback lol.
Alfredo sanchez i saw you say this on the snl( i think) video in 1994
@@Bloody_Palace
I'm going to have to try that thx for the info
@Jesussuburbiaguitar That's exactly what I thought too! He looks down, sees Welcome to Paradise, and thinks "Oh!"
That crowd surfer was singing and having fun at 3:36
@LPRory I'm thinking he forgot what they were playing next, looked down at the set list and then went "Oh!".
i bet this is the only video in youtube with 0 dislikes...
wooow k linda
@LPRory he was surprised because the next song was WELCOME TO PARADISE!!!!!!!!!!!!!
What suprised Billie like that at 0:06?
:o
❤
@walkingpotatoes yes, Mike is the best
02:44 Tre crazy!
900th liker of the video😄
It’s weird seeing Billy playing a Dookie song without blue
@Conchur197 I totally agree
@LPRory The setlist?xD

@LPRory Probably he was trying to remeber what song he supposed to play, then he saw The Setlist xD
@LPRory I think he saw the setlist xD

0:06 AHAHAHAHA XD GREAT!
arent they from berkley?
I like Jason, but I just don't think he should play the Dookie, Insomniac, Nimrod stuff. I mean, they did all of that without him when they first came out. And plus it was so noticeable that Jason was there in the beginning. I think it would just sound better if he didn't play the 94-97 albums.
Well, not sound BETTER, but more like it did on the album.
+Samuel “TheTulo02” Joseph This is especially noticeable in the woodstock preformance of Welcome to Paradise, since Billie Joe was the only playing guitar there. Besides, the original recording of WTP has 2-3 guitars in it anyway,
The album has at least 2 guitars, so this actually sounds MORE like the album. You've beat yourself in your own argument.
I’m a big fan of Jason, so I’m a little biased, but I think his presence adds depth
Best part is the break lol.
@Greendaykid645 lookls like Gibson SG
How does one get feedback with a les Paul jr like that
Single coil pickups have more feedback and pickup the noise more than humbuckers.
@MrVanwilder636 a billion thumbs up then
Les Pauls arent that bad of a sound. When I play When I Come Around, She, Welcome To Paradise or Longview it sounds fine. He probably didnt switch out because he forgot he was playing this. I agree though. Fender's Telecaster and Billies "Stratocaster" sounder better Ideally for the song.
@pnkdrmz not to forget: muse and slipknot ;)
Billie con esa voz el 2009 no lo creo, su voz en ese entonces era mas aguda y en esa presentación canto como cuándo tenía 20 23
Green Day and Avenged Sevenfold actually are the best live bands!
2:19 is so brutal!!!!
yea i know i have one in black
@mRudyn1 thats floyd
