I love this era, very different. American Idiot era to Revolution Radio era feels similar to me, but this era is so fresh and new, the clothes, billie joe's voice. I love everything about this.

Waaaay better. This sig LP has a 57 classic, which is way too low output and PAF-sounding. Dookie songs need a hot humbucker like a JB, otherwise it sounds kinda lifeless.

I fucking hate politicians but we should pass a law that Dookie and pre-Dookie material needs to be played on Blue ;)
@@kanjosidr Amp settings almost never change; not to mention the EQ settings on a Marshall are extremely weak. A big difference in tone between videos and performances on TH-cam are purely based on the sound engineer that provides the audio. He obviously chooses to EQ the guitars however he wants, and a BIG difference in the amount of gain you hear Billie plays with, likely comes from the volume blend of the two amps he uses, that the broadcast engineer picks. Billie's tone is lower gain, there's prolly more of the Dookie-mod amp; more gain? prolly more of the SE Lead mod amp that has a lot more gain.

Blue is a v e r y old guitar. Even though it feels wrong for a dookie song to not be played with blue, the guitar is probably on the verge of falling apart.

Funny how Blue is still his most iconic guitar even after the whole fleet of Gibson BJA signature models he has had over the years. I remember seeing Green Day like 8 years ago and he pretty much switched between all the colors his Les Paul JR was being made, for the newer songs but played Blue for most of the early/Dookie stuff.

Have been listening to Green Day for a long time now. I have heard every song released and have seen a lot of live shows (in person and of course on TH-cam) this performance is missing something. Is it that they are just tired of playing this song? Or what? All of their other performances this have sounded great! Maybe it’s just the recording? I still think they are amazing love something is just different this time... still am not disappointed though!
I think that they are "missing" that punk spirit that they had in the 90's, now they are just playing old song as old memories, but without that rebel attitude, they are getting old and that's so sad

That would be correct. He tunes the guitar down a half step for this song so it was probably out of tune

@@laserbeamlightning there's deffo something slightly off, not screamingly bad but just something off with one of the guitars; thinking it was jason's as after the feedback break it goes away, and you see jason looking down at his pedals when billie's getting feedback so probably using the tuner.
