You have a couple ways first one would be to partner with a broker if your state has a NEMT broker, or you could partner with Medicaid directly or lastly build your Private Pay clients and reach out to every Medical Facility and contract with them! Great question and Congratulations on your purchase and start on this journey if you have questions feel free to email us at theehomeschooldad@protonmail.com wishing you much success!!
Yes that is one of the best ways to start off, go for it, we wish you much success and if you have any questions feel free to email us at theehomeschooldad@protonmail.com
When you pick a client up you have a set rate of 50$ and how do you know when to charge for additional mileage? Is it after the first 10 miles , I can charge 3-5 dollars each additional mile ?? Also when you charge waiting time when you have a client in a doctors office and I am charging for every 30 minutes,15-30 $ how do I charge that , do I keep track and report that to the broker ? What if someone goes to the doctor and has to get a prescription filled do I take them to do that as well and charge extra for that ??
You can actually charge the miles upfront but standard is after the first 10 miles they're is no set way to determine your prices unless the state has mandated certain prices!
Great video! I've been exploring this opportunity thanks for talking about the dollars. Question: Regards to the payment 50-77% of base fee are you saying you will only get paid a percentage and not 100% of your fees? Second, trips will almost be covered...if...is payment not guaranteed from Medicaid/Medicare to you if pts didn't follow rules?
So first thank you for watching and secondly yes you get a percent from the broker if you work in a broker state and that percentage varies state to state. Email your question to theehomeschooldad@protonmail.com and we can elaborate more!
Good afternoon thank you so much for the video but I have a question. I just started. How can I apply to Medicaid so I can get client start getting patient without going through the broker I’m in Virginia. Thank you so much for all you do.
Thank you for the great information. If you are in a broker state like Texas, do you have to work with a broker or can you contract directly with Medicaid? Thank you in advance for your response.
Great question Mr McCoy so the short answer is yes you have to work with a broker to work with Medicaid you are in what they call in-house management/ regional broker state meaning part of your Medicaid contact is through Health Human Services of your county and the other is a regional broker such as Modivcare or Southeast Trans
Hey thanks for the information very helpful but I have a question do clients get the choose our service and then we bill the insurance company or will the broker/medicad choose our service for the clients or both
Thank you for watching and to answer if you work with brokers/medicaid they choose the client and or service for instance if you have a wheelchair they will give those clients or if you’re ambulatory they will have those type of clients for your ambulatory vehicle aka personal vehicle
Great video! Thanks for the breakdown. I saw your reply to a comment and you said the state can mandate prices. I live in Texas, how do you know if prices are mandated?
Thank you for watching, and to better answer the question what I meant was when working with brokers they have their own prices they set when working with Medicaid clients since they have set incomes and guidelines to follow Brokers usually don't exceed a certain amount for instance $40 one way trip ambulatory transportation. In that scenario if you wanted to make more you'd want to do PRIVATE PAY CLIENTS!!
