    • @Mjbusinessacademy

      Most brokers give you the option to deny trips. However this must be done in the time frame they allot. Breaking the contract I'm not sure of as we have never been in that position but I couldn't imagine them giving you a hard time about it. ( I say speak with your Point of Contact and I'm sure its not a problem). And when taking broker trips you are not allowed to take tip. However, If your'e doing private pay trips Its okay to accept tips. We would suggest having a policy in place regarding Tips.

      NEMT can be like a ike a crap shoot for some upstart medical transportation providers with one vehicle, especially if they have a terrible broker and/or clients who repeatedly cancel their trips or just don't show up. This can prevent an NEMT provider from making adequate profits to help cover commercial insurance, fuel, vehicle maintenance, repairs, payroll, and other operating expenses. Private pay trips or signing up with other brokers is possible, but in the meantime, it's best to also have enough money set aside for the unexpected and until your NEMT company becomes known and utilized (regularly). BTW, are you still interested in and/or doing NEMT?

    Hello ladies. This NEMT piqued my curiosity because my mom uses it for her medical appointments. I live in Santa Clara County in the Bay Area and I have to call the SCFHP(Santa Clara Family Health Plan) to get this NEMT rides for my mom and they always send OWNER OPETATED wheelchair vans from Yellow Cab. Now are these drivers who own and operate their wheelchair vehicles also have their own NEMT business under Yellow Cab? Are they making a lot of money like your own business? Can you explain and clarify? You mentioned in some of your videos about brokers. Is Yellow Cab a broker and would you recommend someone who is starting out on NEMT business to go this route under Yellow Cab? Looking forward to your reply. Thanks.

      In many instances those drivers are subcontractors of yellow cab. If you were looking to get into this industry,I would not recommend going that route.

    Can you charge for mileage to the pick up location and during the trip to the doctor?

    • @Mjbusinessacademy
      @Mjbusinessacademy  ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm assuming you're speaking of dead miles. Yes, you can charge a small fee for the miles you have to drive to pick up that client. However, If Its your working with the broker you will only be compensated If the trip is outside of your service area.

      @@Mjbusinessacademy Ah I see. So working with brokers is good when you first start while building your client base? I’m doing my business alone but have a friend that would be happy to help me with marketing (brochures, business cards at medical and rehab facilities) I live a cross the street from a large infirmary as well lol

      @@midnightville9062 Yes. When you first start It's important to get the cash flow coming in due to monthly expenses. But your focus should never veer away from building business for yourself (Private Pay).

      There is no straight answer to your question. Example: One person may say their rates are great while the other says something completely different. Its up to you to negotiate the best rate possible for your business. If you and the broker can't work out a fair rate, walk away.
