Is there any particular reason as to why you chose a Corporation or LLC? Because I'm starting my NEMT business in Cali. Whoop, Whoop Cali stand up!! I'm contemplating on which route to take. Ladies I need your opinion.

We chose a corporation because of the benefits that come with having one. We knew that getting into this industry comes with great risk and we wanted to make sure that all of our personal assets were protected. However, many NEMT providers start as llc but once your profits start to exceed 40.000 annually you may want to consider the switch. I would recommend speaking with a license professional like a CPA or attorney for guidance. What I will say is don’t just think about what your business needs are now, consider your business goals and potential partnerships.

I can’t see why you would do that but I’m sure the insurance company would not turn down any money. Lol
Speak with your NEMT insurance agent about the options that are available to you.

I’m trying to start mine and came across a 10,200$ permit fee for a transportation network permit in Texas is there any cheaper option?
What license was this? What part of Texas are you in?
@@Mjbusinessacademy it’s a transportation network permit and when you submit an application they ask for a $10,500 permit fee which is a one time payment every year and I’m in Beaumont, Texas about an hour and a half from Houston

This is contingent on a few things like service contracts, rates, marketing strategy, etc.
You put in the work, you see profits. If you don’t put in the work, you may not see any profits at all

The vehicle will need to be registered as a commercial vehicle and yes you will need commercial insurance at all times.

If my LLC is for Trucking can I use it for Transportation?
It has been done. You want to ensure the business purpose is stated in your LLC’s articles of organization or operating agreement includes NEMT services. You may need to file an amendment with your state’s business registration office. Definitely consult with a legal or tax professional to make sure you meet the necessary requirements.

There are more providers then there where 3-4 years ago but I would not say it’s saturated. I’m south county there is still a need the last we checked.

On a serious note: NEMT is generally regulated at a state level. State regulations may include vehicle safety standards, driver qualifications, and operational requirements. Some NEMT providers that operate larger vehicles or cross state lines may still fall under certain FMCSA regulations but not all depending on the (State). I hope my more detailed response helps. 😉
