I love this, thank you for the tutorial. I also prefer the longer videos with all the little details you add along the way. You are a wonderful teacher.
I'm going to make this for my bedside. I'm tucking my tablet in the frame of my bed, my cell phone falls off the nightstand, so maybe a new home for tabby, my phone and my glasses!!! Thanks my dear!!
My first sewing project was a sewing machine mat with pockets. Your instructions are so much easier than the McCall's pattern that I used. Thank goodness I had my sister with many years of experience helping me. Their instructions were difficult to follow, my sister gave up and did it her way. I love my mat, maybe I'll make her yours for Christmas. She'll be surprised 😂😂😂😂
HAHA! Sometimes patterns can be a little hard to follow- that's why we love making these videos so that we can explain as well as show how to create something! Thanks for watching!
I agree with Adna Omena it is so inspiring to watch you, but all too soon it's all over and I have to patiently wait for the next tutorial. Wish it was much longer. Still, thankyou for blessing us with your beautiful projects.
Thank you so much for your input! We try to keep our videos concise and specific so we don't draw them out too long but it is great to know your opinion! We will keep this in mind going forward!
Hi! I just started sewing and I made this yesterday as my first project! It turned out great. The Binding Basics videos were great! Thank you!!! I agree with the other commenters...I like the longer videos. You're a great teacher!
This is an awesome first project- your space will always be organized :) Thank you so much for watching and for letting us know you prefer the longer videos!
No problem. Have you visited their website? I buy fusible fleece from various craft stores, i.e. Hobby Lobby, JoAnn Fabrics and Micheal's. Walmart even sells it.
Finally made one just need to do the binding. Love your videos. They’re so easy to follow. I haven’t been sewing for long so to be able to follow along is so helpful. Thanks!
Hello Jennifer, Thank you for the great video, I've been wanting to do this little mat for a long time and you've made it so easy. Thank you for the PDF of measurements, I can't wait to start.
@@barbolson8768 no I haven't, I haven't had time to work on anything but mask for months. I will hunt it up again when I do have time. Thank you for asking.
We're so glad you like these! We don't have a tutorial for a sewing machine cover, but I'll let our video team know you'd like to see one! :) Thank you so much for watching. - Morgan
It's very pretty and handy.. but I liked watching more when you were doing the sewings and not have them pre-made already.. Thanks for sharing anyway :D
Thank you so much for sharing this with us! We are trying to focus on making our tutorials efficient while including all of the steps- sometimes actually sewing things can take up a lot of time but we will keep your feedback in mind!
Hi! Your videos are so amazing 💗 Can't stop watching 💕💕 Thank you very much for these sweet ideas 😍 I am sorry where from can I order that sewing machine? 💗💛 Thank you 😊

Hi, thank you so much for this tutorial it's so helpful! Just wondering if I wanted to buy some pre-made bias tape, what size should I go for? I'm a beginner and new to bias tapes and would just like to practice with pre-made before attempting to make my own. Thank you :)
Great question, Jennifer! We would recommend buying Extra Wide Double Fold bias tape to start! It is easy to work with and available at most fabric stores - we have purchased it from Joann's :)
Jenn Marie the Write's bias tapes at plsces like JoAnn's are very stiff and there isn't much selection other than solid colors. . Much easier to just cut 2 1/2" strips and fold them in half lengthwise and sew them on as in the video
Hi, Jennifer, thanks for sharing your creativity 😀 I'm going to make this mat but I'm concerned about it slipping with the sewing machine off the pub height table I keep it on. I work standing due to back issues and limited space in my studio apartment. Any suggestions on avoiding the mat slipping?
We have found that as long as you don't overload the pockets and your machine is heavy enough there are no slipping issues. If you find that's not the case, you can get some non-slip fabric (like the kind used for lining drawers or under furniture) and cut it to size to place under the mat! :) Hopefully that helps!
Went to your site couldn’t find pattern. Not clear on site where to find it. I did find however a lot of stuff I would love to make!! Where in Idaho are you? I’m in Hagerman.

I ALWAYS have trouble following patterns I buy at the store. No matter how “simple” or “sew easy” they claim to be. Lol

Shabby Fabrics Does SF sell the fusible fleece for this project? What weight?
Didn't mean for my questions to be posted here. Wanted them to be a stand alone. I'm always learning!

So happy to hear you will be creating this project- cute AND practical! Have fun :)

You are so right! Thanks for sharing that creative idea with us! :)
Sew easy Jen and such a useful thing. Going to make a few as gifts as well.💕
Great idea! - Yajaira

I really like this project. You are a great teacher. I'm just curious about the pocket lines showing in the back. They appear in the back?
They appear very subtly on the back but no one will really see the back of this any way ;) Thanks for watching!

Hi Kathy! That's great! Thank you for watching! - Sophie
Jennifer I love the idea of this, but does’t interfere with whatever you are sewing?
We haven't found that it does since it hangs down below the sewing machine away from the project that's being worked on :)
Hi love the video however when I go to your website to download the pattern it’s not there - please help me !!
Here is the link to the download: www.shabbyfabrics.com/Assets/Downloads/SewingMachineMatAndOrganizer_forDownload.pdf
Thankyou for the the link - I’ve downloaded the pattern now 😊
I looked for this tutorial today (6/13/19) and had the same problem. Were you able to get it?
