I'm bang on in the target market.60 years old, returning to biking after over 25 years and at 5'8" and only 70kg, I'd struggle with anything heavier than the Scrambler. Only other thing I was really considering was one of the KTM's but so far very happy with my purchase.I had to dpend over £1k on the kit so happy to have got it at the initial price but it wouldnt have put me off.
I bought a blue one and I am driving for more than fifty years and own eight bikes. It's a bike for everyone, so relaxed to drive. The dealer had only one, the others was a long wait, red the most difficult to get. They wanted to buy my Trident, asked it three times. There are almost no second bikes in there.
hi all thanks for the early comments, its interesting when you see the price differences from these manufacturers prime markets. the triumph where its made in India is 2.35lahk which equates to around £2500 which competes with the Himalayan at that price point. if as you say Terry the Philippines price is £4300, thats a huge disparity. obviously there will be import tax but the profit margin must be huge still. there is the economic theory that if you sell at twice the price as your primary market, being India then you only have to sell half as many and it reduces your need to import so many units and starve the primaries of stock. im going to India in September, so will see what the triumph landscape looks like. yes indeed Jonathon, the guerrilla is more competition for the triumph but as you say its not scoring on the looks department, i wish they had really gone to town on the scrambler vibe as they did with the Scram. although pricing is again competitive. its an interesting market place with all the manufacturers looking to get involved. The Chinese are definitely going to affect the pricing which is good for the consumer in the short term but could affect other mainstream manufacturers in long term. its something im going to look at in future episodes. Ride safe
I have ridden both the Triumph 400s a couple of times I have taken out the new royal Enfield Guerilla 450 last week that is the bike I am going to buy tomorrow when the dealer opens after the weekend
If you are military or veteran £220 discount I am that older rider Triumph are trying to make hay, now with the RE a direct competitor a discount should be available or some incentive. Bike lacks centre stand, bobbin mounts, and chain access is poor, my creen took 5 months to arrive after delivery so poor effort and other accessories like heated grips slow to become available. I do like the long servicing intervals and it's pretty nice to ride overall despite a bit of jerkiness on and off throttle and very optomistic speedo and mpg.
i love a haggle with dealers, but the triumph is such an easy seller the dealers can stick it out . sometimes its easier to get them to chuck in some extras or clothing as that has such a big margin on they can often use that as a sweetner. good luck
@@theartisanrider472 oh ok, thanks man! So i probably can't reduce the price but might get an accessory for free or something? Because the price on the speed 400 is 5000 dollars and the final price is about 6,500 dollars. I assume you use quid, so it's like for you the final price would be close to 5000 quid. That's just for the speed 400, imagine the scrambler?
hi, hi yes im not sure why that happens sometimes, ive looked at the narration recording, i think its around the Mono and stereo settings. il look again, its always good to get a heads up. thanks 🙂
Great looking bike, the scrambler doesn't look as well proportioned to me. I like the new Guerilla more in the looks department though. Definitely interested to see how they compare for handling and comfort.
I bought the scrambler and am loving every minute of it.

The big plus for me with the 400 Scrambler is the size. The Speed is better for riders under 5'8".
Bang on.Scrambler looks like a bigger bike but manageable for me at 5'8" .I do like the looks of the scrambler much more tbh
5'7" here and i got the scrambler and its not a problem for me on and off road, its so well balance and fun!
The speed is better looking

They sell those bikes here in New York, but the mark up is crazy! Any tips on hassling the price down? Bike has been out for a while now.

My left ear really enjoyed the video
😂😂
I thought my headphones were knackered.

I dont know if you mentioned it in the video but how tall are you?
hi im 5.10 prob bit more in boots.
I think the Enfield Guerilla is this bikes immediate competitor although arguably not such a pretty bike.
Looking to buy one here in the Phillipines and the price here with the current exchange rate is £4300
The main difference is the 15T sprocket
The new model's seat height is .6 inches higher.

im keen to get a ride on the guerilla hopefully in the next few weeks.
Greedy triumph ,it's GOLDSTAR for me
This Triumph is not a patch on the new Himalayan 450.
