Beginners guide to using the Ginour hvlp paint sprayer from amazon. A run through of whats included and how to use the machine.
It comes with 4 cap sizes and 1 needle.
Trying out a budget hvlp sprayer from Amazon to see if i can get decent results. for under £50 i could get this looking pretty nice. as they say its all in the prep. so sanding inbetween coats will get is nice and flat.
i diluted the paint about 20% and used a 1.8mm needle set. I'll add a link to the item.
so can you get good results using a cheap sprayer, yes... but you need to dilute, not spray on full power and make sure youre applying enough paint so it gels into itself. it was a fun challenge

@@sprayaholic Hello, do you have problem with overheating? How many minutes you are using it, then cooling down? Im using oil paint and its getting very hot after 20-30 seconds of usage. If I use small paint output can it be reason why its overheating? Does it overheat less if a lot of paint/air is going forward?

Paint quality is the key for the DIY HVLP cord or cordless sprayer. If you're going to thin.. read the paint MFG instructions... personally I use Floetrol and distilled water equal parts for thinning

hey, ye you could get it to spray. i dilute with my other hvlp unit. are you usin it to block odour? some of the spec sheets on other paints have said to spray with massive tips for airless which just isnt feasible. you can also warm the paint up which would make it flow alot easier aswel.

@@sprayaholic hi thanks for your response. Yes it’s to block odour. I’m in a basement and a leak has caused damp behind my kitchen cupboards. The wood at the back is not damp but the actual wall is. I believe from research there is trapped stinky air behind and between the wall and units so I plan to seal any gaps and paint the interiors of the cupboards. As nothing gets rid of the smell. This is my last resort as it’s going to take a very long time to dry out and apparently my landlady can’t smell anything bad lol. Anyway Iv no experience with a spray gun at all but the cupboards are reall deep into the corners so thought it may be easier? I was looking at this paint as it’s low voc and again thought hood for internal kitchen cupboards?

So youd be wanting to mistcoat rooms as well as use for primer? Ideally youd want an airless sprayer. If youre mistcoating you dont want to be filling the pot up all the time and rolling would be faster than using a hvlp.
Airless would get the job done and probably the best budget option would be this
